Going to try to catch a bit of sleep now, as those on the FB know, it's literally just a matter of time now. Dad's lungs can no longer get the required oxygen needed to go on. Was called out to the hospital today around 3 to hurry over. Things suddenly turned around. At one point we wern't sure he'd hang on for my younger brother to make it, but he did and there was a very surreal family moment as Dad said his peace with us all. He has admitted that he's ready to give up the fight, he's done what he could. Back to cracking jokes too, telling stories and giving us instructions what to do. He got down some tea and orange juice. He is at peace with this all. Funniest thing though, is that the blood/oxygen rate etc. has been stable since, but he's pretty much on 100% oxygen now, and drinking liquids are not affecting him like before.

Around 9 or so, my brother and I left the bedside vigil, Dad does not want to break down in front of everyone, and as much as he wants us around, and as much as we want every last minute with him, it's not helping him by us sitting around waiting for the inevitable. My brother and I checked on the house for Mom and and sat there for a bit and cried. Just checked in with my sister, he's still hanging on, but sleeping a lot, and wants it over with now. He's made his peace with everyone.

Right now I'm fairly calm all things considered. I've been a mess a good chunk of the night, but right now I'm back in check. Going to try to sleep a little, the next few days are going to be rough. My brother and I agreed to do what we can to keep it Christmas for the kids. Dad agrees with us, we need to "look after his girls".

Thank you to everyone for helping with the thoughts and prayers, and I know DW is my rock right now, but your support has/is been wonderful. May God bless you, everyone.

Love you Dad...

So sorry, Brent. That's so hard. We're praying for you guys.

Nomination for dysfunctional family of the year award.
I've got a couple of drunks with a bowling problem I'm willing to throw into the mix.
Yes they will. Mr. Cousins will look great in Vikings purple or whatever Jacksonvilles colors are :rotfl2:
Nah we'll reach on our next "QB for the next 15 years" in the last three years.

Where's the emoticon for spitting coffee :lmao:

Almost done with work for the day:woohoo:... I think the clock decided to freeze... not cool clock not cool

I could throw a narcissistic BIL/SIL combo in the mix but they never contact us unless they want something so I'm not sure where they are at. :cool1:

A few other odd relations as well but I've gotten used to them so better the devil you know...

Congrats!

Bills managed to keep screwing up their draft picks by beating Jacksonville.

I'd see if you were up for a Dole Whip on next week's game, but it would be easier to just concede now and save myself the aggravation. :sad2:

My older but dumber brother resides in Buffalo. We used to enjoy the rivalry when both teams were decent. Phins are about ready to have a loss so it wouldn't surprise me if the Bills win.

Congrats CJ. Must be fun to get that excited over a regular season game. I can't really remember those days, but I'm sure we did the same thing. :thumbsup2

Congratulations CJ! Now we owe each other. Will need to catch up when I am there in August 2014 or I may be down for a conference sooner. The fins are sitting in that final playoff spot. May they be lucky enough to hold onto it.

The scary thing is that I think the injuries have finally caught up to them. They managed to pull out a few last minute wins the last few weeks and I thought they would do it again yesterday, but the luck had to run out some time. They are a playoff team and will win the AFC East, but let's just say my expectations have been downgraded once the playoffs hit. Defense is just too worn down and the offense can't seem to get it together consistently.

You are both too gracious. Great game to watch and I was yelling at the TV at the end. Dolphins are also a lot of people down so IF they make the playoffs, I am not counting on anything happening. The guy that caught the interception to end the game was unemployed a week ago.

But, I will take the win and gladly down the beverage Jim purchases to satisfy the wager. Makes me 1-3 against Dis Dads.

Had a great day with my mom and youngest child at school. They put on the annual Renaissance Fair with 4th & 5th grade student. So, I worked a half day and saw the show. Then, in the mail, I received a state audit tax notice from 2011 that I owe $183. Now, I have to dig out those files and see if I can dispute it.

What would you say that it costs you per trip for room only? I kind of want to look into it but my wife thinks we would do better by using the military discount.... at the moment I think when we can get the discount it is 30% off value 35% off moderate and 40% off deluxe rooms but I wonder if we would save money by getting DVC because we know we will always want to go back to the world. I feel like I'm really off on the value and moderate but I think the deluxe is right.

Can't points be rented too? Can anyone rent them or just other DVC members?

Yes, you can rent to/ from anyone, not just members. With DVC, you get a point chart for the year which lists time frames (peak vs non) by weeks. And, while some changes can occur from year to year, they are not usually dramatic. We don't have to wait or hope for discounts.

It makes it difficult, trying to compare the two. From the mousesaver's website, a rack rate Inn room at the Boardwalk costs between $300 - $550 for a night, depending on time of year. But, those rack rate prices are usually associated with free dining.

For October, when we like to go, we stay the week(6 nights) on 64 points. A low rental price would be $10 a point or $640 for the week. The total cost for DVC is the initial buy in price plus annual dues each year. The annual dues can increase every year, probably by same % as the rooms. We did our initial purchase thru resale as opposed to direct, which costs a lot less money.

You know it's plasma, right?:lmao::lmao:.

There was never even a consideration of canceling the Disney trip.

Nope. Not yesterday. Garrett clearly stated in his press conference that he called a running play.:thumbsup2 Way to throw your QB under the bus coach.:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And, Garrett knows that because he only calls 5 running plays a game. :lmao:

Not in my home town - legally. Our Shiite religious town would have a BBQ or Bourbon bank before that other type.... :lmao:

Never been to a Renaissance Fair, sounds like fun. Boo to the audit though. Pay in pennies.

Had a couple awkward moments at work today, we had a meeting late in the afternoon and well I fell asleep during the meeting not once but twice:faint::rotfl2: after someone woke me up the second time and everyone was staring at me, all I could say was I passed mine:rolleyes1, but in my defense after being on my feet and in the cold all day, you are now in a comfortable chair and it's nice and warm what do think is going to happen:lmao:

It also works the other way around, out of the heat to a seat in the a/c will put me to sleep also, I practice this during most visits to WDW, I call these chosen rides, The Sleep Rides:thumbsup2

Well, the progeny is encased in an aluminum tube, 30,000 feet in the air about to cross the border into Florida. It will be a shock to her system after leaving snow and temps in the 20's to sun and 80 degrees. Have to admit I am looking forward to seeing the kid. Of course that will only last a day or two.

I will tell you I am tired of this health kick she is on. Back from the store with almond milk (wonder what that tastes like), multi-grain bread and granola cereal. Would be embarrassed if anyone saw me.

I hate those type of meetings - pointless & boring. But, I enjoy those rides. I have slept the most in the France movie.

Hope you enjoy your Christmas with the Pirate Princess CJ. Never had almond milk but the other two options seem fine. The big thing here right now is coconut milk.

I'm sure it'll be great to have her home. And I'm sure she will be thrilled to enjoy 80-degree weather.

Just tell me you don't have to buy another tofurkey. :crazy2:

Audit is no fun... good luck on disputing that.

That's some good information I appriciate it.

So if you only use 64 points and you have more you could bank them and stay more than once a year? I guess the point of that question is do the points expire?

Enjoy having her home.

My wife and I do the healthy eating thing as much as possible. I tried and could not drink the almond milk but she said it goes well with honey nut cherrios.... I'm not going to waste a bowl of them to try it.

Speaking strictly as a former dairy farmer - just how the hell do you milk an almond? ::confused3
