Declan and his teammates had a great start to the Middle School Basketball season with a 45-35 win in their opening game. Declan chipped in with 10 points and a number of rebounds. It was fun to watch as the two teams have players from his club team so they are pretty familiar with each other. First school tourney starts tomorrow at 9 am.

Congrat's to Declan.

Our Saturday games: DS won by 8 points. Scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. We had 2 others score 12 and 11 so balanced scoring and effort.

DD had 2 games. The morning game was a 38-10 victory with 4 points and a few rebounds. Night cap was a defensive struggle with us missing 20 clear wide open layups:-). Still pulled out the win 22-15. Dd scored 5 and again rebounded well. The girls are REALLY good for 10 and 11 year olds.

For those not on Facebook... Everyone who ran or walked the 1/2 finished! Great job everyone! Few more running the full tomorrow morning

A late congratulations to all!

Home from basketball. We smoked the other team, 26-12. Both dds scored 6 points each and played really well together. They also played great defense as well. Once they built that lead, both started passing to another girl who has cerebral palsy on our team and she scored a basket. I scouted two of the other teams afterwards and they have a lot of height. Let's hope the run n gun strategy works.

Congrats to the girls!

Congrats to all the dad's down at DDC. Since Jim hasn't been on today (probably at the game), I'll say it again....

GO COLTS

Haha! It was wet again, but much warmer than the last game. Yes, I was away from the computer partaking in that tradition some would call tailgating. it was a fun night. Sorry your Colts has to play us instead of Denver. It was an entertaining game. Congratulations on a good season and for making the divisional round (more than we can say for CJ and the Dolphins:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:)

Got this off Facebook and thought it was too good not to share...

Ole Captain Jack has this one nailed!

Good Morning Gentlemen!!!

Want to Thank all the Dads that went down to the DDCC it was awesome time. Paul: THANK YOU even more !! World Showcase Run was a success!!.
Was a great trip and I am already looking forward to next yr. I have skipped posting in here and tried to limit my posts on FB as to not make some of you "Disney" sick.
But I do need to say this.Start working on next yr guys.If you havent made it to a DDCC yet you really need to try and make one. They are awesome. The roster for next yr is already looking pretty good. The running list for next yr is also off to a good start. The race was a blast and worth every bit of the pain and suffering one goes through. So even if you are not in the best of shape(look at me !!) you should try this. Every one that ran made it out alive. We now have a full yr to work on the next so get your planning in early.

OK back to our regular schedule bs'ing

What a blast we had! I even remember some of it!!! :rotfl:

So is it time to start the Nemesis Challenge III thread yet? :rotfl::rotfl:

::yes::

I've known it for years but it is official. She is Dopey. Oh, and Goofy. Pics and stuff later today or tomorrow.

Congratulations to the Pirate Princess! Of course you forgot to post the number of runners that got the shiv as she was passing.:lmao::lmao: That is certainly an impressive amount of hardware. Sorry I missed it. And congratulations to the proud dad as well!

Definitely try to get there next year as it looks like the conferences are now cancelled so no conflicts.

:dancer::dancer: Transportation for our July 30-Aug 7 trip has been made, not sure where we will stay yet:confused3

That is pretty much 2 trips down with 1 more definite and a possible 2 others:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Window still not open for us. What airline are you flying? We are using SW points and only into July so far.

Congratulations on the successful run! Really hoping to get there next year. Running will depend again the knee. Going back to possible surgical correction. Appointment on the 23rd to have it looked at again.

So it's official I have been notified that I am being considered for seperation from the AF. Which happens to be a real Beverly. Now I get to do the good old fasion "hurry up and wait". I will not find out my fate until sometime around June so until then my life is effectively on hold. I can at least take solace in the fact that there is not a thing I can do to improve my chances of staying in just stick it out and pray.

That stinks. Prayers and well wished that you are not chosen.

Can you look for other employment in the meantime and leave if you find something or is it something you need to wait on?

Good morning guys! Again, congrats to all the kids successes this past weekend, sorry about the Panthers and well done to the Dads down at the World and the successful trip.

Post away, good to see & hear all the good things that you guys did and drank and ate and you get the picture ..............

So you mean to tell me that she actually ran the Dopey? I figured CJ just taught her how to shiv the winners after they collected their medals and then she wore them like she competed.

Seriously though CJ, all the best to Crash! Hope she raised a bunch of money for the shelter.

Good afternoon gentlemen. I enjoyed living vicariously those of you guys at the World. Hope everyone gets home safely.

Nothing much happening here. We've got another winter storm on the way tonight. Hopefully we'll get enough for the kids to break out their sleds they got for Christmas.

Congrats to the Pirate Princess and the basketball players.

Okay, time for some travel advice from the assembled wisdom of DisDaddom. We have our plans made for our annual Anniversary trip in May. We will be driving, again. The October trip last year went well but there will be differences. In Oct we left around noon on Friday and got to WDW saturday morning. For May, we will be leaving sometime on Tuesday, arriving Wednesday, so I am concerned with the traffic issues. Last time we went the rts 80, 33, 78, 81, 77, 26, 95, 4 path from NW NJ. My concern is places like Charlotte NC and Columbia SC. I'm thinking this time cutting across VA on 64 and 288, to pick up 95 south of Richmond and avoid nearly all the metro areas except Harrisburg and Jacksonville. Any thoughts?

Back from DDC... Hard to keep up in all places, but I did go back and read through everything.

I would like to Echo Carl's sentiments, and Randall's DITTO!!!

If you can make it down try to, I have yet to meet a DISDad that I didn't like.

Congrats to all the DISDad runners and DISDad Dopey daughter runners.

Podcast night / Ohana was a blast as well, technical difficulties aside... I must say I was impressed at how calm both Adam and Aaron stayed while we were all hanging around the room taunting and drinking a few beverages.

Thanks again guys!

Another early morning to take the Cheetah to the airport. I told her she should run there instead but she wasn't buying it. At least it was at 5 and not 2. She is safely back at SH and in class at this very moment. SIL left before I got back. Well, I did stall and hang out in the Belle Vue Lounge for an hour. Thought about trying to extend a day but they could not guarantee I would get the same room so if I have to pack up anyway, I'll be out of here tomorrow.

Good Morning Gentlemen!!!

Want to Thank all the Dads that went down to the DDCC...

Even my SIL enjoyed it. By the way did I mention SHE LEFT THIS MORNING!

That sucks. Hope it turns out best for you.

That's some serious tin...:cool2:

Cj, I enjoyed my trip to the Orange Bowl this time..:rotfl2:

Trial ended. I won. Bad guy gets to go to jail for no fewer than 30. I'm betting the 15 he got offered sounds really good right about now...:headache:

And if your wallet disappeared, I had nothing to do with it. Glad justice prevailed.

Congrat's to Declan.

Congrats to the kids Darcy and Jim.

The podcast recording was during the Fats game. Had to hear Paul yammer on about how great they were. He also gave me the low down on you. Was very complimentary so I assumed he was lying.

Make a little joke and your kid is branded a slasher. Paul was nervous sitting next to her at the pre O'hana meet.

On her behalf, I want to thank everyone for their well wishes and support. She kicked buttocks both on the course and at the bank. So far she has raised over $1,600.

Thanks guys, we both appreciated it.

"I have yet to meet a DISDad that I didn't like," is a Canadian thing right?

It was great meeting you and the other guys. If any of you do come down, don't expect a lot of empathy from this group. I am surprised Adam and/or Dale didn't go postal while they were trying to get the podcast up. We were merciless. And somehow after the show started, Carl became the target for abuse. Why? Who knows. Great laughs guys.

They went all right... ;)

I may fly down there to watch every Pats playoff game with you. It's much more fun to see you wince every time they have a big play...

This is true. ::yes::

It is a tough group. But it's a fun one!

The podcast was fun. Ripping on Carl was more fun. :thumbsup2

That’s a workable plan and pulls both I-77 and I-26 out of the equation.
On that front, I agree that hitting Charlotte during either the AM or PM rush will be frustrating but more so if you get there between 7 and 9 in the morning while traveling south. As for Columbia, it’s not really all that bad during either rush. Congested, yes… but bumper to bumper at a standstill, not normally. If you come through this area during any time other than the rush hours, you likely won’t have any troubles (unless a truck were to jack-knife and block the whole road but no one can ever predict that one).

Which one of you Canadians did this?

That is for a Canadian Tire commercial about their car batteries

Ah man, prayers it doesn't actually come to that and that it all works out in the end.

I’ve considered the RV plan, but it will have to wait a while yet (and probably a long while at that.)
:

Skip the RV. Just sleep in the car. CJ has everything else you need.

Got this off Facebook and thought it was too good not to share...

Aye!

So is it time to start the Nemesis Challenge III thread yet? :rotfl::rotfl:

Unless the challenge involves beer drinking or eating massive amounts of food, my nemesis has already won.

That stinks. I hope it works out for you.

And then there’s the Panthers…
Their normal abilities finally showed back up in abundance and things are now back to normal in the Carolinas. I’m currently planning on making a major effort to not watch even a millisecond of the Super Bowl. Don’t care for anyone else still in the running and the threat of a Bruno Mars half time performance is not what I’d call and enticing reason to even bother.
.

It is difficult to beat a 12 man in the huddle offense. Given those terrible personal foul and inconsistent head butting calls, that may have been one of the worst officiated nfl playoff games I've seen.

:thumbsup2 Window still not open for us. What airline are you flying? We are using SW points and only into July so far.

For the July/Aug trip I booked the AutoTrain since this is our trip we hit Busch Gardens,SeaWorld, LegoLand, Gatorland a car is a must for this trip plus we can bring and take home as much as we want:cool1:

For our April trip we are using Spirit Airlines out of AC

Now after booking both the train will actually be cheaper since the airline nickel and dimes you to death and then add on parking at the airport:scared1:
The way you have to look at it is if you have limited time a flight would be a lot quicker, but if you have a extra day or 2 there is nothing like the train:thumbsup2
