Morning gentlemen.
Never still the voices…
Aside from here, there they’re usually the only interesting conversation available.
Yep. although some of the conversations in our break room can get interesting at 7am.

My work day started off interestingly enough. 4 coworkers and I enter one of the elevators and we press floors 3,4 and 5. Doors close. We wait. And wait. :rolleyes1 Suddenly the rear door opens and freaks us out (this is a hospital elevator). But no one is there. Freaky. Door closes and the elevator starts going up. We all got off the elevator at the next stop and used the stairs :rotfl2:

I just read an interesting article about Molly yesterday. If you don't know who she is, you might want to read THIS.
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Glad I'm still a few years from having that talk with the kids.
Morning Guys.

Spending the day at a session on the use of energy drinks by youth. Hopefully it will be a good day.

Have a great Tuesday.
Sounds about as much fun as watching paint dry.

‘Morning all…

You may have found the wave of the future here. Installing public mirrors to make it easier for everyone to take sefies. I remember when businesses use to advertise “air conditioning” as a way to pick up foot traffic. Now it’s going to be more like: “Stop here! We have more mirrors then our competitors”.
Let's not be encouraging kids to take selfies.

Ha! Just saw a co-worker posting pics of her and the family at her daughters birthday event. She is 16 and had on a shirt that said "Molly is my homegirl", I had to tell her that her daughter was wearing a shirt that basically says "I do ecstasy!". :rotfl2: She was very unhappily ever after, :rotfl:

 :rotfl2:

Look at the bright side. You could be watching Matt Shaub throw a pick 6 each week.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl: Not that I have room to laugh at anyone else's football team, of course.

Morning guys.

this past Thursday was her first Halloween party that she worked.

Looks like she really hates it there. Cool outfits but does she get to keep the bat "ears." Nice pic.

Rough one for the fins yesterday. :rolleyes1

Yea, it was and we are now a game behind the Mats. I was not sure how they are going to this year so I will take a 3-1 start. Care to do a beverage wager on the two head to head games this year? Even though NE will be favored in both games, I'll wager straight up.

I just read an interesting article about Molly yesterday. If you don't know who she is, you might want to read THIS.

Scary stuff. One of the many things that kept me up at night. Luckily, the things I worried about were not an issue.

Good morning.

Busy day yesterday at work, but that's a good thing. I guess.

Field work has come to a halt this week after the rain Sunday and damp conditions yesterday. We'll probably change the combine over from soybeans to corn sometime today since you can still shell corn if it is a bit damp out.

The rain is certainly a good thing though. Saturday afternoon, a cornfield near us caught on fire. Some irresponsible prick decided to toss a cigarette out the window. Thankfully the fire dept. was close and they only lost a few acres and were able to contain it. We take a 1000 gallon water tank with a pump and fire hose on it to the field with us "just in case" and had to use it Saturday. We were running beans and saw some black smoke from about a mile away. A neighbor of ours had a combine on fire. My cousin took our water trailer and put out the fire before it spread through the field, but the combine was a total loss. The crops are dusty this year, so hopefully this rain will help keep the dust and fire dangers down.

Wow…

Ouch. They actually make shirts with that on it?? Wow.

Yes… yes they do. They did when I was a kid, and ain’t much has changed since.
As a general rule, I always researched anything that showed up on one of my boys shirts (just to be sure I was in the loop)

I've never tried one of those energy drinks. Do they actually make you feel like you have more energy?

Took a drink of one once.
Tasted like cough syrup with a couple packs of saccharin added to it.
I’ll be ignoring them from here on.

As for Molly... I admit that I had no idea about the name until I read that article. I'm sure I'm dumb to a lot of other names being used to reference drugs. Hope to never have to deal with the issue.
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Glad I'm still a few years from having that talk with the kids.

Start the conversation now. The sooner the better. Really.
The quicker they’re aware that there are stupid things in the world and that the consequences of being anywhere near such stupid things can be dire, the better off they’ll be. Our only real defense against peer pressure and the “Effects of Coolness” on kids is to make sure that they absolutely know that that kind of crap ain’t cool (no matter which of their buddies tell them otherwise).

I’d never encourage it. But the culture is headed in that direction.
Folks spend more time looking at themselves then at others anymore.

And then the stairs did this:

Only while I’m riding on a Doom Buggy at the MK if you please.

Blah blah blah blah blah. Nonsense Nonsense, stamp stamp, (tantrum), blah blah blah blah blah. Opps, sorry, still had my governmentese translator on.:scared:

Scarry… Unfortunate about the machinery but good that you were able to help out the neighbors.
Also glad to hear that the harvest is progressing fairly well.
May that continue.

Sorry to interrupt this thread but... We Are on the MAGICAL EXPRESS!!

That's not an interruption…
That’s a public service announcement.

Congrats to y’all and enjoy the rest of the trip.

Good Morning Dads! NHL Season starts tonight

this past Thursday was her first Halloween party that she worked.

she is going to be working the next three out of five parties.

this is one of her closest friends. she met her at work and she is a sweet heart. her and B tend to lean on each other when it comes to work and missing home. they already have plans after they get out to meet up this summer here in pa. they want to take the bus into new York city (we are only one hour away).

if for some reason you happen upon Bs friend, ask her "where is #45 on the map." :lmao:
Way too much fun to be a job :cool1: I know they work extremely hard but how cool to be part of the events.
Sorry to interrupt this thread but... We Are on the MAGICAL EXPRESS!!
Very cool :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1: Don't worry. It never stops. :headache: Just wait until the girls are teenagers. Then you'll be getting yelled at by 3 woman.:sad2: Rough one for the fins yesterday. :rolleyes1 G O O D M O R N I N G ! :rotfl2::rotfl2: And that is why so many avoid the system and just come on over. Good thing you did it yesterday. Since the government is shut down, they are probably all home today.

Luckily they are not affected by the shutdown.

Andy, how are you feeling about the Reds/Pirates game tonight? I really like this format.

:hmghost:

Indeed. Especially knowing that the building we are now working in used to be an actual hospital wing. They basically ripped everything out of all the floors and then remodeled it for IT spaces. Hard telling how many people died in this building. :scared:

Damn I wish I worked in a haunted building, I'd be excited to come into work again. That kind of stuff is right up my alley.

Don't worry. It never stops. :headache: Just wait until the girls are teenagers. Then you'll be getting yelled at by 3 woman.:sad2:

Oh it started already, at least with the youngest.

Sorry to interrupt this thread but... We Are on the MAGICAL EXPRESS!!
Woohoo!! And that... Is a good thing.

Thanks for the update on the drink... I've not been tempted enough to try.

And we do talk to DD about this type of stuff... just not specific drug names and such. We have her so worried that she starts giving me the "talk" when I crack open a beer. :rotfl2:

Blah blah blah blah blah. Nonsense Nonsense, stamp stamp, (tantrum), blah blah blah blah blah. Opps, sorry, still had my governmentese translator on.:scared:

:lmao::lmao: Now THAT'S funny.

This hasn't been the best of week for me lately. Haven't said much about it cause I'm trying to keep upbeat, but it's time I shared. Last weekend my mom's father (my grandpa) in Ohio passed away. His health had been declining for weeks and so this was not unexpected. The sad thing is he was not a well-liked man. He did not treat people nicely. I grew up around him and he was always grumpy and did not like kids. I never understood him. He was a WW2 vet as a Seabee and he never talked about it. Still don't know what he did or what he experienced. No services were held for him this week and he was cremated. Still haven't fully dealt with this. Probably won't hit me until I'm back in Ohio.

Next up... my BIL... my wife's sister's husband. He was diagnosed with throat cancer last Thanksgiving and was given only months to live. On Friday we got the call from my MIL that he was with hospice and they gave him about 48 hours to live. He's still hanging in there today even with all the drugs... cannot see... cannot speak. We will be traveling to Ohio to be with the family after he passes. But from what I am hearing from MIL it's not going to be easy as his side of the family is not accepting the fact that he is dying. Plus... one brother is in a lot of debt and is already trying to figure out how to get money from his dead brother. :confused3 Really sad... and also makes me angry at how his family is acting in his final hours.

To add to this, we have had reservations for months to go camping this weekend... something DD really looks forward to each year. Just been a roller coaster of emotions this week.

Thanks for letting me share. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Andy, how are you feeling about the Reds/Pirates game tonight? I really like this format.

Nervous. The Reds offense hasn't shown up in about a week, so either

A. That will continue and the season will be over.

B. They'll bust out of the slump and roll to the NLCS before they likely let the bats go to sleep again (based on the typical pattern of their offense this year)

Truthfully, I don't like this new format, and I realize the Reds would be on the outside looking in under the old format. But I'm ok with that. They would have had their chance to play their way in last week, and they didn't.

The one game play in for the Wild Card really kind of takes away from "earning" a Wild Card, IMO. You fight all season to get in the playoffs and there's a good chance you only get one game. I realize that it has always been a 1 game tie breaker, if necessary, to finalize playoff positions and I'm fine with it in that situation. It just feels almost like a joke to me, to call a 1 game series part of the playoffs when it is really just 1 game for one of those teams and there's a good chance that their fans will not even see a home playoff game. :confused3

Don’t think I will run that one through Google Translate.
It’s probably better I don’t know.

Excellent!
Sounds like you done good.

Let you share?
That one of the main reasons we’re here.

Much sadness there. Sorry for all the troubles.
Prayers for all... extra for your family… and one or two more for you sir.
Hang in there.
