I let them all pack and then quietly sneak in the stuff I want when no on is looking. When we get there I always get the....."Where did that come from, I didn't pack it?".

My wife is like a bloodhound, she stalks the suitcase to ensure only approved items are there.

I still sneak stuff into the luggage, but then I get the 'look' when she finds it. <shrug> I actually consider it a game for vacation travel. How much can I sneak into the suitcase that my wife did not catch.

Sometimes she let's me think I snuck something in, and then removes it after the fact... That women is tricksy I tell you all!!!!

And I can't ask her where it is, as she told me not to pack it.

Evening guys. Spent the morning at the hospital getting a endoscopy (scope of my esphogous) done. All looks good, and the drugs were tremendous. Now I get to lie on the couch and have DW wait on me. Great stuff!

Me too! DW really wants to go back and look for the two missing hubcaps. I think we've pressed our luck enough and don't need to be walking along the median of such a busy road.

Yes, for part of the week. We'll be at MK on Sunday and Wednesday, EP on Monday, and AK in the morning/HS evening on Tuesday.

Im also there. We leave wed after noon ariving on friday mid-day. We will be there all week.

Opposite here. DW fills up the bed with everything she wants to take, and it is my job to pack it all. That is one of the few tasks I am good at.

Well of course my minivan has to start giving us troubles 3 days prior to our trip. <sigh>

So after 500+ in repairs, it's back in tip top shape. The battery died on it this last weekend, and that was my bad, I should have replaced the thing a month or so ago after my mother in law left the lights on and drained the battery. <sigh>

We leave on Thursday.

Well, it is good to be safe and it still beats a car payment.

And so the seemingly longest work week of the year begins, the week before vacation. The recital was a success on Saturday. I'm proud of the job DW puts on. I think total #'s for both shows got us to over 1500 in attendance. It's a tiring day when you consider the first show starts at 1:00 pm and we didn't get home from the wrap party until almost 2:00 am. We all slept in until between 11 and 12 and then all took long naps in the afternoon too! I don't think the DD's got to bed until after 11 last night though.)?

That does make for a long day, but it sounds like it was successful.

Yeah, overall I am happy with only that much in repairs. It is an older van, and I am cheap about my transportation. As long as it gets me there.

Once my wife gets a full time gig, she is a High School Chemistry teacher but has only been doing long term subbing, we will upgrade the mini van to something nicer.

Good luck to her! Hope she gets something full-time...SOON! Have fun on your trip!

My wife says I pack too much, and when I choose three pairs of shoes to take, she kind of pulled the plug on my being allowed to pack, and told me what I was getting. <sigh>

Hell, with all the foot/shoe issues from last trip, DW is bringing around 5 pairs as it is. I will have sandals for the pool, two pairs of sneakers for the parks, that way of a pair gets soaked like last time, I've got a backup pair ready to go.

Good Morning all.

One more day closer to vacation. Only two more days of work then a bunch of time off.

Just finished up payroll for my staff, and I have two externs coming in today to work in my department for a JVS program. I have to give one of my supervisors the last few days off, since I am going to be gone for the next two weeks.

So I am tying up loose ends, and making sure all my employees know to behave for the next two weeks. Otherwise, I am not going to be happy with them when I get back.

Also, trying to get everything ready with the van and the kids. We completed the repairs yesterday(well paying for them) and cleaned out the van. That took longer than it should have.

The snacks for the trip have been purchased, and the items to keep the kids busy have also been taken care of. I just have to go out today and get two of those power splitters for the van. We have way too many electrical devices going on in this van for the trip..

2 DVD players
3 DS's
3 Ipads

My kids are a little spoiled with the electronics, but that's what happens when Dad is technologically inclined.

So we all should be on the beach by Friday.

Also, if anyone wants to try to do a meet-up next week at one of the parks, shoot me a PM, and I will send you where I am going to be when and see if we are going to be close to one another.

I am staying in Windsor Hills, so if you are staying offsite and are there, that is even cooler.
