We are the same way. While we would love to give camping at Disney a try (especially around christmas time), our idea of roughing it is a 3 star hotel. We do vacation with friends at their camp in Maine that has no running water, A/C, heat or bathrooms. They usually rent a port-o-jon and place it out back.
A camper with A/C would be a step up.![]()
Why a port-o-jon? The best thing is whizzing outside. I usually go outside behind the storage building just because it's outside.
Egads! We actually own a few acres in Maine, way up north. My mother is from there, and got the property when her mother passed away.(Called Houlton and/or Hodgton, if you want to look it up)
I spent a ton of summers up in Maine, and it is awesome. I would love to retire up in Maine, but to spend even a night with no running water, A/C, heat or bathrooms. Umm... Not only would I not find that fun, but my wife and daughters(I have three daughters) would no longer talk to me.
Maine would be cool with the proximity to all those lobsters, but it would be bad for all those winters. I'm still hoping to get to FL to retire.
