We are the same way. While we would love to give camping at Disney a try (especially around christmas time), our idea of roughing it is a 3 star hotel.:rotfl2::lmao: We do vacation with friends at their camp in Maine that has no running water, A/C, heat or bathrooms. They usually rent a port-o-jon and place it out back.

A camper with A/C would be a step up.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Why a port-o-jon? The best thing is whizzing outside. I usually go outside behind the storage building just because it's outside.

Egads! We actually own a few acres in Maine, way up north. My mother is from there, and got the property when her mother passed away.(Called Houlton and/or Hodgton, if you want to look it up)

I spent a ton of summers up in Maine, and it is awesome. I would love to retire up in Maine, but to spend even a night with no running water, A/C, heat or bathrooms. Umm... Not only would I not find that fun, but my wife and daughters(I have three daughters) would no longer talk to me.

Maine would be cool with the proximity to all those lobsters, but it would be bad for all those winters. I'm still hoping to get to FL to retire.

Agreed. I remember going up to see the Reds play with some friends, and we would camp in Big Bone Lick KY park to save money (tents).
My lip it starting to bleed from me biting it so hard as to not bust out laughing at the name of that park. Yes, I have the sense of humor of your average 10 year old, but I still think it's funny.
We have a state park here in Wisconsin called Bong Recreation Area.

hehe.. When I was in the Navy, back in the early 90's, we use to start some of our days off(I was stationed in Hawaii) drinking the day away in Honolulu.

Literally we would be snookered by 1pm, and pass out in our hotel room. Then wake up at 7 or so, and go to all the happy hours and get smashed and stumble back to the room or pass out on the beach. <sigh>

I don't drink alcohol much anymore, I wonder if those excesses when I was younger have anything to do with it?

Also, before we had kids, my wife has this fascination with back packing. So we bought all the equipment, and off we went to southern Ohio to backpack. Oh god, that sucked. I had 70 lbs of crap strapped to my back, so we could drink water, and have food.

I swore that stuff off after one outing, no more backpacking for me. Unless you consider carrying my laptop in a backpack, and tipping the valet 'back packing'. :)

It's hilarious. There might have been a closer park, but we just wanted to stay there so we could tell people about Big Bone Lick, KY. See, here is the link to Big Bone Lick KY State Park.

I think we're all boys here and it's perfectly acceptable, if not expected, to laugh at such things.

We love the area and it's fun to hang with everyone (kids have a blast playing), but the living conditions are not all that enjoyable. The kids always ask when we are going back and remind us they really need to spruce the place up. This year I told my wife that we need to find a hotel in the area and we'll spend the days there. She thinks the relatives will feel offended that we don't want to stay. I told her to invite them back to the hotel. I'm in trouble again.:sad2::sad2: We go to CT to visit my friends every summer as well. My friends have a Chalet on Lake Candlewood with a private beach, dock, boat and all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. :thumbsup2 I could get used to it real fast.

We do it because we feel bad not doing it. Does that make sense? The living conditions are rustic at best, the ocean temps are cold and the mosquitos will carry you away. Still not sure why we find it fun, but I guess we are a little crazy.:confused3

I did a lot of drinking back in the day, and while I still continue to enjoy my daily beer and/or bourbon, I don't drink to that extent anymore. I never did the backpacking thing, but I wasn't much for exercise. Now, I enjoyed sports, but never really had much endurance. Once I started drinking beer while playing softball games, I decided that my sports career was time to end. :lmao:

Mama is starting to crack down on my consumption of said beverages now that the little one is here. :(

Looks like it's just the regular photopass...

Sorry. Some call me Mick. :)

I thought I told you all my name, but I guess I did not.

My real name is Robert Michael Colosimo, so that's where I get my RMColosimo nickname from. And Mick is my in life nickname, since my father was also a Robert and he did not want to call me Jr, or some such variation on that.

So just call me Mick. :)

And queue the Crocodile Dundee references.
Norm you want to go first?

Mick dont feel bad, they call me Cliff Claven.

I get them all. I get Jagger a lot as well. And some assume I am Irish(not anything wrong with that) because of my nickname.

When they see my last name, it can throw them. Not many Colosimos that are Irish. :)

Been running around like crazy for a few days and have no hope of catching up. My boys and I got to go to Merion to see the practice round for the US Open yesterday. It was drenched with rain, so we didn't see a lot of golfers out, but getting the chance to walk the course was pretty cool.

Did you see your tail again? Sorry, I just had to say that for some reason :rotfl2:

Again posted last night

Or, you could have started the day with some rum. Didn't you post that on FB? Drinking rum in the AM doesn't make you an alcoholic, it makes you a pirate.

It sounded so Team Sparrow, I had to..

Woo Hoo! Backup!

Wait, what??:scared: No pictures, don't want to know it happened.

Hell, with all the foot/shoe issues from last trip, DW is bringing around 5 pairs as it is. I will have sandals for the pool, two pairs of sneakers for the parks, that way of a pair gets soaked like last time, I've got a backup pair ready to go.

I am responsible for my own bag, and usually help with the oldest DDs

I believe so, we are planning to. Look here... http://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/wdwppp.htm

And that about sums it up.

One Canadian says yes. One Canadian says no. I didn't know Canadians disagreed...

And Mick it shall be, Hi Mick! I'm Randall.

?? Given up on our home team already? Not that I'm complaining. Nice to have 2 of the original 6 in there. Should be a good series.

Yup. All you need is 14 days to pre purchase. I ordered our before I had the flights booked. Does that make me a bad person?

Hope it went well!

Working on our sales forecasts now for the coming year. They were due a couple weeks ago, but a few customers have decided to make life difficult.

... and Jim says yes, so we've got that going for us! :thumbsup2

Go bruins.
Aren't you from Northern Illinois? Go 'Hawks!

Oh, and 1 week. :cool1:

I assume we can expect another trip report. Have you chosen a theme yet? Any trivia/movie quote games along the way?

Hi Mick! Do you eat lightning and crap thunder?:confused3

It's awesome to walk the courses before the pro's play. I am a member at a LPGA/Senior certified course. It's fun playing, but man is it lllooooooonnnnngggggg.:lmao::lmao:

I know that feeling. This is supposed to be a "short" course for a US Open, but it included 2 par 3's I couldn't reach with my driver.

I camped at Bong 4 weeks ago.

Did you get the munchies?

He gets confused easily.

DW have been talking about getting a pop-up camper for years now. Hopefully we can get the cash together in the next couple of years. I'd love to take the kids up north and out to Yellowstone.

I have that same sense of humor. On a meeting with a gentleman names, Yadang Dong. It became a challenge to see who could say his name the most on a call.:rotfl:

Floor mopped. Carpet vacuumed. Laundry folded. These staycations are a lot of work. The only thing better about the office is I don't have to do anything. I have to take youngest to soccer camp, and then home to start drinking beer in the pool.

Did you see your tail again?

!

Aye! pirate:

Is it for the money? Be a good role model? Or, be sober enough to parent? I can make a good argument for all three, but when you are dealing with post pregnant hormones, best to lay low. Just ask Barry abut that frying pan.

And queue the Crocodile Dundee references.

Mick isn't bad. Do you know how many times someone has yelled "Norm", and then asked if I had ever heard that one before. :furious:

My usual response is something like, that would have actually been funny if you bought me a beer after they yelling my name. :drinking1

Just need to vent...

Kind of pisses me off when multiple people have to review an invoice before it is paid and the first 3 agree that is correct and sign off on it, only to have the 4th person to look at it before it was paid change the frickin' thing without asking anyone else to review it... even though she was the one using the wrong rate!!! :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Is it Friday yet? :faint:
