Been a heck of a day. A lot of little things that all got under my skin. I yelled at my son a few times. Snapped at my daughter once when she cried over something I thought was insignificant. Not winning any parental awards today.
For dinner, my wife wanted Japanese takeout. So I call in the order and the last thing on the list is a children's hibachi meal. The woman on the phone tells me, "I'm sorry, the children's menu is for dine-in only." In the mood I was in, it got ugly fast.
I just don't understand why I can't get something offered on the menu because I am not staying to eat it there. So I had to pay $7 more for the adult version. I wanted to hang up and order from someplace else, but it's the only place around and both DW and DD had their minds set on it.:
I have days where I wouldn't win any parenting prizes - those are called weekdays. We survived our parenting, hope that we are better at parenting, and hope our kids will do better one day as well.
I've had that happen, I tell them I'm uncomfortable giving that kind of info over the phone, if it's a credit card they may then ask for the last 4 digits or ask a security question that a lot of banks ask when you open a account that would identify you, like Mother's maiden name or First pet's name etc.
I do think if you call them you may have to give info asked since they don't know who they are talking to, but if they call you (usually I don't answer any 800 #'s ) I hesitate on giving out info, besides if it's something important they will send out a letter![]()
I don't answer the phone for any of those calls. More often, if I don't recognize the number, then I let the call go to voice mail and if they leave a message, then I'll call back.
