College scholarship in her future????

I too enjoy IASW and Figment. They are both long air conditioned rides. A great way to re-coup from being in the heat :thumbsup2

The AC is nice, but I also just like the rides. I know I am one of the few here who enjoys Figment and IASW. I have four stuffed figments and a figment pin at home, I'm hoping she gets a scholarship.

How is she from the foul line?

;)

She's a scorer and has never found a shot she didn't want to take. I've taught her how to shoot and she does well - on nine foot goal - she is only 8 years old.

Just had to clear the building for a fire alarm.

Note to self though… next time that alarm goes off, grab the car keys.
It just might be for real.

Note to self. Wear gloves and pull fire alarm next week.

Almost the same situation here. My DD10 is 5'2" and 127 lb. The post is her spot. She has really gotten better this spring playing on an AAU (with 12 year olds) team. Layups with both hands and good shooting form. We need to work on her aggressiveness some. Maybe they can play in college together.:thumbsup2
.

She will turn 9 at the end of June. She is 4'10", 87 pounds, and wears a size 8 in women's shoes. And, she is major aggressive, handles the ball well, and won't pass because she plans on shooting. She knows how to pass, just doesn't want to. They can play ball at Florida University - hopefully. I still have CJ's credit card number, and he can afford both by then.

Happy Friday / weekend to all as I have a 3 day work week next week as we head down next Thursday for a couple of days at MK / BLT and then hit the Fantasy for a 7 night western caribbean - cannot get here fast enough.
.

7 nights sounds great. Just don't get off the boat at Mexico. Have you all been following the story about the mom who was held for 9 days in Mexico jail without charges for allegedly trafficking drugs on a bus? Scary stuff.

Not my personal policy, I have what I like to call work ethic. My co-workers insist on bringing me down to their level though.

I used to have a work ethic. Government job stripped that away. If you work hard, then you get more work. Not a good motivation strategy.

vista way has a reputation of being the big party housing complex.

Now I get it. I'm like the guy in the video - why didn't I know about that place 20 years ago? Arrrrrrgh.

start practicing the phone interview. smile, smile, smile. the numbers are all over but from what I have read, any where from 40,000 to 60,000 apply and about 4-5,000 get in.
you have to get by the application and on line interview before you get to the phone interview.

you fill out a form where they ask you for each job what your interest level is for that job.

if you get in, they tell you what your role is. you could have a very low interest in housekeeping but if you are offered housekeeping, that's what you get. they wont change your role. if you don't accept the role, again, from what I have read, its hard to get back in again.

brianas first choice was quick serve food and that's what she got but there are over 300 locations. you don't know your location till after you pay your fees, take the kid there and they check in. briana just got lucky she got what she wanted. she is very grateful she got what she did.

My plan is to be a boat captain on the MK GF Poly route. Think that is too specific? :lmao:

:lmao: got the boat number you want? :lmao:

that process is for the college program. the intership program you apply for a role and if your just looking to be hired as a part or full time. find your own housing, you apply for a role.

still have to go through traditions and Disney training.

traditions? you have to be in compliance of the Disney look. your wearing a tie norm!!!! :lmao:

Too funny, I keep telling DW that when I retire we are heading down and I want to drive a boat at WDW part time - I'll focus on the Wilderness Lodge / MK route:laughing:

I'll leave the boat number and color optional. See how wonderfully reasonable I can be for my would be new employer? I don't remember them having a tie on for that route though, do they? What might get me is clean shaven. I have had some type of facial hair for over half my life now.

That is a good route too because you get to go over the water bridge. I prefer the open air boats though (I have a good rain jacket) and that WL MK route has bigger, enclosed boats to get more passengers over (they are so impatient). I picture myself as a captain of the boat just like in the opening scenes of POTC, as Captain Jack Sparrow floats in on the boat as it submerges, and he steps off onto the dock to walk away.

I got the monorail from MK to Epcot so we almost have all transportation covered :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

On the bus home, was supposed to meet family at the school for Riverside Fun Fair the schools big fundraiser. Ten seconds after I got out of the store the heavens opened up and I got DRENCHED. Just going home now to get out of wet clothes. Wish I picked a better day to break in my new Disney shoes. Oops

you just have to wear a tie for traditions. there was a guy on brianas bus heading over to casting after check in. the kid was rubbing his face. briana asked him if he was ok. he said, yes, I didn't shave for three days and was a little scruffy, they handed the kid a razor and shaving cream and told him to go in the restroom and shave before they would take his picture for his id.:lmao:
I printed everything so she would have it but there is a (if I recall) 20 page or so book on the Disney look. when the kids check in, they must be in the Disney look from the neck up for the picture.
they are told you are now a cast member of the walt Disney company, on duty or not they expect you to act in a Disney manor at all times. you are a representative of the company and they expect you to conduct yourself that way. they put up with nothing. if you don't want to follow the rules, there are thousands of kids waiting for your slot.

as a regular employee, if you have facial hair when you are hired, your allowed to keep it as long as it is groomed.
there is a manager over at crystal palace with facial hair.
I have to look to see what they allow. im sure they have rules on that too.:lmao:

$304. it covers your rent till you start getting a pay check. you don't get a check till you are there all most 3 weeks.
pending on where you live, how many people you live with is how your room and board is figured.
vista waaaaya is the cheapest. you live in a three bedroom apartment with five other people is the cheapest.
briana, lives in a one bedroom with one other girl and not in vista waaaaaya.
DADS PAYIN!!!! you think my little princess would live with five other people?:lmao: come on david, heaven for bid we save the old man a buck or two.:lmao:
people are always taking jabs at Disney for taking rent out of the kids pay but, for example , for $100.00 per week it covers your room, all utilities including cable and internet plus your transportation.apartment is fully furnished including kitchen stuff, bowl, silverwear etc... that's for a one bedroom in chatham or Patterson. live with five other people in vista waaaaaya and I think its about $85. per week.
I think its a good deal. the places are real nice. pools, gyms etc.... we all know about the security. im willing to bet your safer there then at most colleges.
you also sign allllll kinds of papers. when your done signing papers, you sign some more papers. lol she lives in a non alcohol building. she is only 20 so she has to but even if she was 21, she would still live in a dry building. if you are caught with drugs, firearms, under age drinking or supplying to a minor, you are turned over to the county sheriff department, charged and no longer allowed on property.
if I want to visit her in the apartment complex, I have to fill out a paper, leave my drivers lic. I have to be out by 1am. quiet hour is between 1 and 7am. if I don't come out by 1am, they will come get you. lol no over night guest!!!

I keep mine neat, so that won't be an issue. I know it is a real long shot. I plan to move to FL, but will probably move closer to the beach. I would like to retire to Golden Oak, but without the lotto winnings, would never be able to afford it.

All and all, that is a pretty decent deal.

That stinks.

Oh well, they wrapped it up and grabbed some take-out for dinner and we made it home roughly the same time. The goal was not to spend a lot of cash there anyways. I do have a small foldable umbrella in my locker at work, but I can assure you it would not have helped. The rain was hard and driving, sideways at first.

any who, she worked in the hub again today. more class computer work. has a quiz tomorrow on what she has learned to date. it was her first park opening.
got to work an hour early for some reason so she had breakfast in the caf. in the ultilador. she said they have good food. :lmao:
she said she was told the first month is the ruffest. also told me they got fresh meat today!!!! :lmao: movin up another rung on the corp. ladder.:lmao:
I asked her if any dads stopped to see her yet? :rotfl2:
she still hasn't bought anything yet from company D. she waiting for me so I can pay for it. :lmao: she knows I have no will power to say no when it comes to Disney stuff. :lmao:

they don't see each other. :lmao: they both work odd shifts and don't really spend much time together.

its funny, do you know when your on vacation at Disney, you have to really think what day it is. you loose track of what day it is. same for briana. she said she don't have weeks she has days. 3 days on, 1 day off. theres no 9 to 5 jobs. she met 6 of her 10 managers , yes 10 managers, on memorial day during a training class. :lmao: 24-7, 365 days a year. :thumbsup2

Happy Saturday guys. Prayers for all those in OK, KS, and MO. Those were some freaky storms last night.

That is far too many managers.:lmao:
