Happy Birthday Randall. ;)

DD has taken to quoting Star Wars. Her favorite is scruffy looking nerfherder but she has also been know to say these aren't the droids you're looking for. Her only flaw is that she likes phantom menace over empire. I'm working on that

Giver her time. Empire is a much deeper film. Plus, for some reason that escapes me, kids like Jar-jar.

Oo-kay Suddenly the modem kicked in and all is working again? :headache: I know Rogers isn't the best company around, but they have been very good to us, far better then our other option, Bell.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDALL !!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

David and Andy, remember there is always next year. And Nemie, once again you are on the wrong side. Good series and you have to give it up to the Pacers. Bring on San Antonio.

I much prefer Caribou over Starbucks. It seems like Starbucks overroasts their coffee and it tastes burnt.

It's not that they over-roast it. If that was the problem, the blonde roast would fix it. Rather, it's the preparation method. The make their money on the fru fru drinks. So they make the "brewed" coffee by the fastest, cheapest method possible. They buy incredibly huge lots of coffee, such that the quality is uneven (partially because they use the same standard blend all the time, rather than adjusting for seasonal availability). Then they grind it too finely for drip coffee, which leads to over-extraction and bitterness.

It's a problem common in most huge, mass-market coffee chains. They almost all have this problem. Caribou, Tim Horton's, Dunkin Donuts - they simply buy too much at a time to ensure quality across the board, especially without seasonal variation.

Really, the only places to get good coffee commercially are at small places that either roast themselves or get their coffee in small batches, sourcing their beans in smaller lots and roasting different beans depending on what's been freshly harvested and available; and use a proper grind and extraction method.

Awake from the coughing again...might need to venture to the clinic after work, maybe bronchitis is involved. :confused3

Tonight we had attended Amelia's "Fly Up" Ceremony, where she moved up from Brownies into Guides. The other three levels (Sparks, Pathhfinders and Rangers) formed a bridge lineand the Guides stood on one end, Brownies the other, and the Guides called each girl over to join them, going through the tunnel created, very cute (especially the tall girls going through the Sparks, the youngest level.) :rotfl2:

Then got her "Key" Promoting her to Guides, which will start up her new sash

Our "official" Brownie portait. DW is going to take the pic and sash to make a shadow box for the wall

Between that game, penguins-B's, and return of the Jedi, I haven't had to watch a commercial all night.:thumbsup2

That is some good TV right there :thumbsup2

All caught up.

11 hour days this week with 144 round trip miles each day. I hate being gone all week, but I'll spend next week at home the dds. They did a basketball camp last week together. Oldest will have some dance camp weeks and youngest some soccer camp weeks. Both jealous all you guys at or going to WDW, but enjoying watching the pictures on FB.

Welcome home :thumbsup2

Dave,

Brent, Get Better!

Paul, Hi.

Never had Caribou except in the Kuerig. I agree with you on the Starbucks burnt taste.

Must be a regional thing, you couldn't pay me to switch to Rogers.

Very nice, congrats to Amelia!!

i ask her when she did her first am opening if she stood out and waved as guest were coming in. she said when the cart is not busy, she stood in front of it waved, said hello and handed out stickers. now that she is by herself, i don't know if she still does that. i ask if she had pins, no, there not allowed, its a hazard. shes not allowed to wear any rings or jewelry other then just small stud ear rings.
i told her to keep smiling and point with two fingers! :lmao: she said she can also point with an open palm but there seems to be an inside joke with the two fingers so that's what they use.:lmao: :lmao: and don't ask, im not on the inside.lol its like i said before, this cm thing is like a secret society and you need the hand shake to get any good info out of them. lol
So Dave - after you having spent $60,000 or whatever it was for 16 years of dance...does she have any aspirations of moving to the entertainment side of Disney? Parades/shows/etc?

Thanks guys for all the warm wishes. I'm glad to have it in the books. It just puts us one step çloser to getting them home :thumbsup2

Awesome news on the home study. Good luck!

You have taught her well...
Her only flaw is that she likes phantom menace over empire. I'm working on that
...but her training is not yet complete.

Since I don't have a home team, I just enjoy watching good basketball. The Pacers have really took it to the Heat, and James is really the only Heat player, other than Birdman, wh is really playing. The Heat are not making any adjustments, which is really arrogant. But, I doubt their coach is actually in charge - LeBron is going to do what he wants.

However, West already did a cheap shot in Bosh's back and and then swung at one of the Heat's head. I wondered if he yelled h0m0 when being a dirty player. is that out Heating the Heat? Or, is that just Indiana thug ball?
Actually, that is neither. It's just David West. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Best cake ever.

Happy Birthday Randall.

Great series, and congrats to the Heat.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next year with the Pacers. West is the only key player they need to re-sign. Hopefully bring him back and get a little more back court depth.

And then some guy named Granger should be back...

Meh, either way, I can't stand coffee..:rotfl2:
It all tastes like crap to me. :lmao:

Congrats to Amelia!
