Finally got pics going through Photobucket and thought I would share the family in true DISdad style. I caught all kinds of hell, especially from DD, for us wearing the same Christmas sweatshirt. We surprised the kids with a WDW christmas trip in 2011. We surprised them Christmas morning and headed out a day later staying through New Years. Despite the grief I caught, we have tons of great holiday pics with us in these shirts.

Great pic :thumbsup2

Morning guys. It was sunny and beautiful here yesterday! Got up to 82 :cool1:

But it's Indiana, so I think we have rain for the next 3-4 days. At least no snow :rotfl2:

Morning Men!!

Havent been here in a while, so Happy Birthday, Prayers and Hope you feel better to everyone deserving of them!

Just getting over a cold myself, today and tomorrow is catch up to where I am only a few days behind!

Matt

Hey Matt! Hope you feel better, have fun catching up! ;)

Good morning gentlemen. The weatherman says we got 2-4 inches last night. My whole yard is green. Then 15 miles east if here they are advising no travel on the interstate.

Morning Guys,

Looks like it is going to be another nice day here again, short and t-shirt weather. Too bad for those of you living in that snow belt. My advice to go is don't eat the yellow snow.

Good picture. Thanks for the intro.

I am actually pretty lucky in that DD was leaning towards Alabama but realized on her own that out of state costs and lost of TN Hope Scholarship did not make sense. She Choose UT Chattanooga and we got in state costs plus she got Hope Schoalrship plus another scholarship through the university. So in state tuition and $7,500 per year in academic scholarships. Sorry if I am comong across as bragging but we are pretty proud parents.

Not bragging at all. That is being proud of your daughter - and you should be.

Hey guys, I'm going to post here and on FB. One of our Polish daughters is having a birthday today. Please say a prayer for her, and that this is the last birthday she will have to spend without us.

Done and hope next year is a great time for all.

300 miles and a 13 hour day yesterday and about the same on tap for today so further attempts at keeping up to date will have to wait.

In S. Florida, the weather however is not cooperating. This is day two of gnarly storms hitting the area. Yesterday it is estimated that our neighborhood got between 6-8 inches of rain. Some flooding and lightning hit a neighbor's palm tree. Storms just moved in for the night with predicted similar results. Tried to get the mutt I didn't want to go outside with a 2 iron in his mouth but he won't cooperate.

6-8 inches?!:scared1: I hope the mutt can dog-paddle.

DW has told me horror stories about recent college grads. You wonder who is giving them advice.

In my interview for this job the HR person asked how I could handle having people being mad at me and swearing at me. Deadpan I responded, "I used to teach." Her response was, "You'll do fine."

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Stay safe. BTW you should have used a 1 iron.

"Even God can't hit a 1-iron." :thumbsup2

Good morning!

Finally... it is that time of year again. Last year, DD was born on April 27 at 5:20pm. Dad had just finished planting corn around that same time. Here it is, one year later, and we're just getting started on May 1. I was out working until 10:30, but it was a beautiful night. A view from my "office."

After a long winter, the students at Seton Hall have emerged out of the darkness and were in awe (and with some fear) at this yellow orb glaring down at them. To toast their good fortune, they organized a celebration of Holi. Holi, as I am now aware, is a spring tradition of a festival of colors. It began as a Hindu religious festival which has since become popular with people of other communities, especially on college campuses. They basically throw collored powder at each other.

Of course the Pirate Princess had to participate. The result:

Stay safe and dry nemie. I can't say I'm disappointed you have the rain and we have sunny and warm for a change.

You have one of those too. Oldest dd did that year with the swim team and just loves the water. She scared DW by how far she would swim out in the ocean (even though I was out there with her.

Yes. Sounds like it would be fun to get them together near water sometime. DD does swim team for the summer at the country club. I get to go to the golf range while she practices 3 days a week and has meets on the weekends.

Funny story. Just sold the boat a few months ago, but we used to always go out on the water for lunch in the summers. Anchor the boat about 2-300 yards off islands and the kids would jump off and swim for a while. Being great parents, we kind of just assumed she was around the boat (she was 6 year old) and my wife panicked when she couldn't find her. We looked up and there she was standing on the island with her brother. I think her legs change to a tail and flippers when she hits the water.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I've already been warned that if I make them wear matching shirts, I shouldn't fall asleep at night.:lmao::lmao:

Quick, get the corn planted before the rain! If you build it, he will come. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maybe you should move to Canada. The weather is much nicer there.

Hey Brent. Looks like I (we) picked the only two weeks where Disney is not offering any type of discount.:headache::mad: From the rumor board they are saying that FD is to going to be offered starting Sept. 3. Room discount ends 8/14. I hope they do something for that two week period. I'll keep calling and hoping for some type of PIN to be added to my account. I'm going either way as we have a lot of things already through the planning stage.

If not, it must mean it they have a lot of bookings and it will most likely be busier than usual. Maybe people will move their reservations and we'll have the place to ourselves.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I've been following the rumours closely. Been sitting back from any planning till DW could figure out the finances a little better, and things look a little clearer now that some money was "found". Now I just need the re-assurances that we won;t go on strike, things'll be fine. Was a little bummed about the loss of free dining, it means now we are doing the POP again, paying for the dining plan (still worth it to us, IMO). If they release the RO discount next week, we'll go book at the CAA Thursday or Friday night. Our ADRs are set, so is the basic itinerary.

I've heard it will be fairly busy, I think there is a Martial Arts comp going on at WWoS and a Classic Car Convention/Show over at Coranado Springs on the Labour Day weekend. If everyone changes and goes in September, won't hurt me any. :rotfl2:

The other thing I've cynically waiting for is a re-hab closure schedual for that timeframe. Right now, virtually everything is running, and that seems off to me. (No word on when Fairytale Hall is set to open, Main Street Starbucks should be open by then) Hopefully the list will be small. Audrey should be tall enough for a LOT of the "big rides" this year, and she is HYPED about it. She missed Star Tours last time by half an inch.

Nice looking family and a great story. For us, same shirts always got vetoed.

Congrats to your daughter. She is in for an exciting time. I was in your shoes last year. Enjoy the ride and take lots of pictures. When mine decided to go out of state, she lost some state scholarship money but the school made up for it. Or else she would not have gone there.

The 2 Iron is an old in-family joke. When I was a kid, my dad used to take me golfing with his buddies. One of the guys had a 2 Iron but never took it out of the bag. I asked him about it and he took it out of his bag and put it in mine. He said, "You can have it. Not even God can hit a two iron." Good memories. And the club is still in my bag.

A few weeks ago they were talking draught conditions. Not any more. And the Princess is enjoying college. I'm jealous.

Why is it whenever I think of a joke you beat me to it?:confused3

I dunno. You're probably doing work during the day.

As near as I can tell, the 2-iron is great for hitting anything except a golf ball.
