Good morning fellow dads, hope all is well, going to the movies this weekend with a lovely woman (not my mom ) we are both horror movie fans so we are checking out the Evil Dead remake, both of us are fans of the original. I wanted to also go see JP 3D on Saturday but she declined my double feature idea.

Mornin guys...

It's pretty sad when I realized today that I'm right back at work in only 10 hours since I left last night. :headache:

Great job on the cakes Brian - you're truly talented!

Hey guys, just checking in. Glad to see all the meets happening lately!:thumbsup2

We took the day off yesterday to go visit my brother and SIL and see their newborn daughter. They'd had a real struggle becoming pregnant and were resigned to never being able to have a baby, so it was a thrill for them to finally be able to concieve. It's amazing how fast you forget what it's like to hold a newborn.

Congrats to them.
Glad y’all were able to take the time to head over there as well.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve held a newborn.
Dang near as long since I held an infant of any age.

Happy Birthday Brent! Hope it's a gooder.

Going to check this out now! Thanks!

Lunch soon? :confused3 Let me know! :thumbsup2

Yes, lunch. Let's plan for mid next week. We head out Friday morning to Long Island for Evans baseball, but can do maybe Wednesday. Let me know if that works and where. I'll head to your area since my schedule is more flexible.

Found a DisDad at lunch today. It wasn't a surprise stalking like Dave, we actually planned it. Thanks to Philip for taking time out of his day to stop by RainForest Cafe in Nashville to visit with us. He didn't bring it up, but we texted later about our plan to pool some points and stay at a THV. The plot thickens...

Philip had to return to work, but we somehow managed to find this place.

Congratulations on the new niece! DS went to Dr. this week and is 5'4'' and 144 pounds. Doc says he'll be at least 6'2'' after he hits his growth spurt. Can't even remember when he was that small.

And the funny thing about the picture is, it looks alittle blurry, but that's just how I really look haha

Good morning!

I am super excited about the ~10% chance of being able to change our 7-night WDW summer vacation to a DCL 8-night cruise on April 26th (this year!) so I have to come share. How sad is that? (Being excited at a slim chance, I mean.)

My wife has never wanted to take a cruise before. With all the issues with Carnival lately, I thought the possibility of us taking our first cruise was flushed down the toilet (unless you were on the Carnival Triumph.) :lmao: She was even more set in her ways to never cruise.

Then I found out I could possibly get a good deal on a cruise out of Galveston in three weeks. I emailed DW this morning about the possibility of taking advantage of the awesome deal even though we would have to take the kids out of school for a week to do it. I told her we could do the cruise instead of the WDW trip and we could save a bunch of money (that got her thinking.) It is the 8-night cruise that stops at Castaway Cay and a full day at WDW resort (with a park hopper ticket included!) I laid out the finer points and how Disney Cruise Lines was again rated the top cruise line by Conde Nast Traveler, etc. I at least have her looking at our family budget tonight to see if we could afford it and she sent an email to the kids' teachers to see if it would be feasible for the kids to miss that particular week (it is a few days after state testing, so I think it could be OK.)

I know my chances aren't that great, but I am excited I didn't get an immediate "NO!" from her. Baby steps. :rotfl:

I just wanted to share in my excitement - I know no one at work would 'get it'.

I almost forgot... Happy Womb Evacuation Anniversary, Brent!
:bday:

No you're getting confused. I was the one dropped as a child. :thumbsup2

Thanks for clarifying. I always wondered where the Oblivious came from.

So an update on the home front here. Re-entry from vacation mode has sucked. We had a great time in Hawaii but the 5 hr time change has kicked us where it hurts. Last night I was finally able to get 5 hrs of sleep (normal for me is 6-7) after 3 and 4 hrs the 2 previous nights. DD(10) has had a rough transition with homework piled on and then not being able to fall asleep until after 11pm (normal is 8:30 - 9). Hopefully this weekend will correct our clocks.

As for Hawaii, it was once again awesome. I tried to log as much as possible on the Book of Face so that friends / family can reference... (I'm talking to you there Captain).

Well, back to trying to whittle down the inbox. (Even with cleaning the BBY each night of >200 messages / day)

Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Bacon for all!

That is so awesome for them! I know DW looked at me with a yearning face after holding a newborn a few weeks ago. Then I had to remind her that it would be really hard for us to have another, considering she had a partial hysterectomy in January - but I would be willing to try. :rotfl:
