Good morning!

I am super excited about the ~10% chance of being able to change our 7-night WDW summer vacation to a DCL 8-night cruise on April 26th (this year!) so I have to come share. How sad is that? (Being excited at a slim chance, I mean.)

My wife has never wanted to take a cruise before. With all the issues with Carnival lately, I thought the possibility of us taking our first cruise was flushed down the toilet (unless you were on the Carnival Triumph.) :lmao: She was even more set in her ways to never cruise.

Then I found out I could possibly get a good deal on a cruise out of Galveston in three weeks. I emailed DW this morning about the possibility of taking advantage of the awesome deal even though we would have to take the kids out of school for a week to do it. I told her we could do the cruise instead of the WDW trip and we could save a bunch of money (that got her thinking.) It is the 8-night cruise that stops at Castaway Cay and a full day at WDW resort (with a park hopper ticket included!) I laid out the finer points and how Disney Cruise Lines was again rated the top cruise line by Conde Nast Traveler, etc. I at least have her looking at our family budget tonight to see if we could afford it and she sent an email to the kids' teachers to see if it would be feasible for the kids to miss that particular week (it is a few days after state testing, so I think it could be OK.)

I know my chances aren't that great, but I am excited I didn't get an immediate "NO!" from her. Baby steps. :rotfl:

I just wanted to share in my excitement - I know no one at work would 'get it'.

Well, congratulations on not getting a NO!:lmao::lmao: Good luck with the convincing.

Thanks for clarifying. I always wondered where the Oblivious came from.

So an update on the home front here. Re-entry from vacation mode has sucked. We had a great time in Hawaii but the 5 hr time change has kicked us where it hurts. Last night I was finally able to get 5 hrs of sleep (normal for me is 6-7) after 3 and 4 hrs the 2 previous nights. DD(10) has had a rough transition with homework piled on and then not being able to fall asleep until after 11pm (normal is 8:30 - 9). Hopefully this weekend will correct our clocks.

As for Hawaii, it was once again awesome. I tried to log as much as possible on the Book of Face so that friends / family can reference... (I'm talking to you there Captain).

Well, back to trying to whittle down the inbox. (Even with cleaning the BBY each night of >200 messages / day)

Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Bacon for all!

Just sleep at your desk like the rest of us.:thumbsup2

Glad you had a good trip.

Today is my daughter, Adeline's 7th birthday. DW, both grandma's, and her little sister have taken her in to the city to empty the bank accounts at the American Girl store. Too bad I had to miss that part of the day... :rolleyes1

Happy 7th to your daughter.

Found a DisDad at lunch today. It wasn't a surprise stalking like Dave, we actually planned it. Thanks to Philip for taking time out of his day to stop by RainForest Cafe in Nashville to visit with us. He didn't bring it up, but we texted later about our plan to pool some points and stay at a THV. The plot thickens...

Nice meet up. Looks like you are going to take the non Disney meet up record.

Hey guys, just checking in. Glad to see all the meets happening lately!:thumbsup2

We took the day off yesterday to go visit my brother and SIL and see their newborn daughter. They'd had a real struggle becoming pregnant and were resigned to never being able to have a baby, so it was a thrill for them to finally be able to concieve. It's amazing how fast you forget what it's like to hold a newborn.

Congats to you Brother and SIL. And no, I am not interested in holding a newborn for a number of years.

Happy Birthday BRENT!!!

Ditto Brent.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENT! Hopefully you have the day off to begin a long weekend of celebration.:thumbsup2

Happy birthday Brent!

I almost forgot... Happy Womb Evacuation Anniversary, Brent!
:bday:

Ditto Brent.

Thanks everyone !!!

Very low key, just bumming around at home today, I did get it off, not that I requested, but worked that way, work tomorrow night though, no "party weekend". DW wanted to plan a trip to Gettysburg for me to do some ghostwalks, but I shot it down, need all the $$ we can for Disney. Pizza and wings tonight, with a good movie on with the girls will do nicely. :thumbsup2

I'm still worried about how my kids will deal with the jetlag. It's always brutal coming back east.:faint:

Looked like you had a great time. Any additional dining or activity reviews? popcorn::

That is so awesome for them! I know DW looked at me with a yearning face after holding a newborn a few weeks ago. Then I had to remind her that it would be really hard for us to have another, considering she had a partial hysterectomy in January - but I would be willing to try. :rotfl:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I tell my wife I'm always happy to practice.

Update: DW is getting excited about this cruise! We should know later tonight if it is going to work for us. She has been emailing me about how we could surprise the kids with it and how we would have to go to MK and DHS during our day at WDW. Lucky for us, TP recommends MK and DHS on the day we will be there (if we get to go.)

This is going to be a real let down now that she is teasing me with all this planning stuff if it doesn't work out.

Oh, well. It's still fun. It's kind of like not checking the winning lotto numbers before you go to bed because you can still dream of winning - but if you check before bed, you are 100% sure you didn't win. (As opposed to 99.999999999999999999999% sure.) :rotfl2:

Well, the fallback is that if you don't book the cruise, you still get to go on your wdw vacation this summer riight? :confused3 Not a bad consolation! :thumbsup2

Let us know if you try out the urinal games! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

We talkin' about...practice?

we are home. waaaaaay to cold for baseball.:lmao:
ok, urinal games!!! i had a chance to play but ran out of ammo.:lmao:
there is a screen mounted above the flush valve. inside the urinal there are three buttons, start, left, right. to start the game, simpley pee on the start button. im not making this up, its a PENGUIN GAME!!!!! you have to avoid the penguins by moving left and right. :lmao: didnt play that long, im guessing you need a bladder of an elephant to play. :lmao:
we will be going back a few times again this year since briana is an asst. ironette dance instructor. ill have to drink more before trying to play next time.:lmao:
