Happy Monday

I spent Friday cleaning out the garage and will be spending today doing the yard work. Every year after I finish the yard stuff I find myself wondering why we ever moved out of the townhouse years ago.

Sunday we put together the new gas grill.

You can guess where I will be every summer afternoon.

Sweet grill...

Home from doctor. Got an antibiotic. Let the healing begin. For all those who cleaned up stuff, feel free to stop by and clean up here.

Nice grill. Infrared cooking - never tried it but it sounds cool.

Morning Guys.

Busy week ahead. Some meetings, couple of presentations to prepare and speaking at an arbitration and mediation in sport conference. Throw in a few soccer practices and volleyball games just to make it fun.

Have a good one.

Sounds fun - minus meetings and presentations.

I appreciate the suggestion, and if I were to download a game app…
that might not be a bad one.

But being “OLD” (yah I admit it) I never really got into gaming. The home console revolution took off just as I moved out on my own and I never had the cash to spend on such extravagances then. As such I missed getting hooked on ‘em. My boy has been raised of the things like most of y’all but video games of any type just don’t interest me.

But it is Angry Birds Star Wars.

Catching up on the boards. Sorry to here about you being under the weather. Thursday night I was enjoying the NFL draft and got chills, aches, etc. Woke up feeling terrible and called off work. Couldn't get out of bed until 11am. Went to an urgent care and had a low grade fever and was diagnosed with strep throat. Feeling better now but it hurt to even move. I hate antibiotics, but they seemed to make a big difference. Hope you are on the mend!

Audrey's had some issues lately. She had brief stomach issues Friday night, a little sick, no deal, fine afterwards. Saturday, no problems, but yesterday she statred up about not feeling well (as soon as we started cleaning her room) and again threw up (all over me too). No fevers or anything, not sure what the problem is...some have suggested its related to the slight cold she has, but still :confused3...

Best wishes for rapid healing to all.pixiedust:

We moved everything from our upstairs school room (bookcases, desks, bookcases, art supplies, book cases) downstairs so that room can be turned into the boys BR.

Cleaned a small portion of DD's room. I filled a storage tub, 25 gallon, with all kinds of Barbie crap :confused3

On the bright side DW has been more willing to let stuff we are not using go. Three trash bags full just from Saturday :thumbsup2...

I did the same but SWMBO doesn't even know it. :rotfl2: She and DD were off at a mother/daughter retreat. You have too much stuff when you can get rid of pounds of it and it isn't even noticed.

We just ordered most of the homeschool curriculum for next year. Price was :scared: but it really is the best option here.

::yes:: Only difference is I still have a 3rd and 5th grader so it will be 9 more years before I can think about downsizing.

Hope you get well soon Norm.

Thanks. :thumbsup2

I hate meetings.

::yes:: DS has all the high scores on MIL's iPad.

And.....Monday ownage!

I thought for sure the penguins would be gone by now.:lmao:

Just checking in as I have had little time to do so. I hope everyone is well. Prayers for those in need, congratulations where deserved.

Around here has been insane with work, sports and home. I should have more time to catch up and visit in another week or so once all of the SEC documents are filed and school is ramping down. I'll check in as I can and try to get caught up as time allows.

Sounds like everyone was in "spring cleaning" mode this weekend. We had our annual yard-work day. 5 cu. yd. of mulch to shovel and spread, weeding, trimming tree branches and bushes, etc. My back hurts.

My back hurts just from reading that…

+1 :thumbsup2
Considering moving back into one at this point.

The flaming alter to the gods of summer…
Very nice.

May it be so

But it is Angry Birds Star Wars.

True and the Star Wars bit of it has me somewhat interested, but…
It still just Angry Birds and that’s still just a video game.

From all the references in current pop culture I figure...
there are only about 23 people in the entirety of the U.S. that don’t play that particular game.
I’m one of ‘em.

That time will fly by quicker then you know.

We have several reasons for considering the downsize possibility now.
First, and obviously we wouldn’t need the space so much.
Changing locations would no longer result in having to move the boy out of the
excellent schools we’ve been able to keep him in from day one.
The big consideration though would be to throw the profits from the sale of the big house
directly into the down payment of the smaller one.
Lastly (and while I don’t like this, I have to consider it)...
if I were to move 8 pitiful miles north into that other Carolina,
then after a year it would literally cut my son’s tuition expenses in half.

Angry Birds is most certainly not a run of the mill video game.

It is a time waster. You pick it up and play when you're bored and have time to kill, then you put it away. You can come back 5 minutes later or 5 weeks later and pick back up where you left off without really needing to know where you were.

I guess if I were to speak to your generation it is kind of like solitaire... prior to the version that we all have on our computers. :lmao:

Oh I see…
It’s an electronic crutch for those that don’t know how to shuffle a deck of cards.
:rolleyes1

No... I compared it to the version prior to the computer version. The kind where there actually were cards.

Oh I picked up on that “sonny”. You missed my comment.

And just to add to the stereotype…
I actually keep a deck of cards (and a hand full of dice) in my briefcase and never travel long distances with out them.
:lmao:

Kind of hard to pull out a deck of cards when DW is trying on clothes.
