Things got a little hairy at work Friday. Boss came to me and wanted a full report on my little customer incident, apparently he wanted to take action on me. I worded up a report (to his credit, boss was on my side.) He took it to the Districy Manager who felt no need to take further action, I responded appropriately under the circumstances. Still, what a day, talk about taking the wind out of my sails.

At least I won't have to deal with it on my staycation. Sweet 9 straight days of non-work goodness, other then watching two rather hyper girls.

Glad it worked out. Enjoy your staycation.

Then, you must do a better job in training your liver. For starters, I recommend taking a vacation week and being intoxicated daily, preferably without ever sobering up. Once you teach it whose boss, ther are ongoing training exercises.

I've never been a big drinker (Something about your first time drinking being a bottle of Southern Comfort when you're 16 ). So when I do go big once a year I'm usually regretting it for a couple of days.

Does the cheaper one have an oven also? Youw ill have to take pictures and post for us! Id like to see before and after pictures and see what it was like before you move in and then after you put your personal touch on things

Unfortunately, no oven. We'll have to make due with the toaster oven (which isn't too bad, I have been able to make alright lasagnas with it).

I'll see what I can do about the pics.

The second option (jeonsei) sounds odd... you pay a 2 year lease up front, and they never ask you for anything else again? Isn't that kinda like buying... but without ownership?

Yeah, it looked similar to that pic, just replace the castle with the POSCO steel mill (which, actually, is lit up very nicely every night...well, nicely for a steel mill...).

And yeah, its kinda linke buying, but you get you money back when you move out. Even after 4 years in Korea, I don't completely understand the idea behind their housing plans....

I never ID'd him and his friend, but I was in charge and would not overturn the cashier's decision. He had ID but his friend who was with him, didn't. He is a very self-important type, brought up he owned a business a dozen times. He felt I should bow to his wishes. Law is the law though. He feels I did not make the right call, and I wouldn't immediately get my boss on the phone (almost 10 at night) to rectify it, although he would have made the same call. Just a lot of BS.

Got my MacBook Pro 15" Anti-Glare HighRes Intel i7 2.5 Ghz 16GB Ram, 750GB Flash I wont be disappointed is that the Rep said. I sure as H3LL hope not for that much I am not let down. Also because we lied and said it was for my kid we got a gift card for 100$ in the MAC app Store.

I hope everyone has a great week, My DD did great at her new daycare she started friday and im trying to stay positive that she will be great all week, last thing I need is a call to come get her during work. I try to give her some slack, I know it must be tough for her not seeing her mom and her sister (not mine ) she is a wonderful and smart lil girl and Im hoping this new daycare will open her up and everyone gets to see what I see daily. I guess thats my Doogie Howser moment for the day, everyone take care

Been a busy weekend for me, bought a used toyota yaris, now I'm trying to get the last minute stuff done before heading to Manassas to pull 4 or 5 days of 12-16 hrs to make a deadline.

On a side note, did Dave ever post how to add tones to your iphone? I was looking this morning and couldn't find it if he did.

Hope she continues to do great. Children are resilient, although I hate it when they are put in situations where they have to be.

Side note on housing in Korea. It's really expensive. There are basically three ways to get apartments-mei mei (buy), jeonsei (one lump-sum rental fee, generally for a one or two-year contact, but, as far as I know, as long as you stay, you don't have to pay again...it's also kind of a deposit fee, as you get it all back when you move out), and wolsei (monthly payments plus a deposit that's maybe half of a jeonsei). We are currently at a wolsei, but the apartments we looked at we're jeonsei.

The last apartment we looked at we also really liked. It is in a quiet neighborhood, on the second floor, close to my office, and one of my co-workers (who's wife just had a baby at the beginning of this month) lives in the same building. It is also wight next to a beautiful park and is ₩20,000,000 cheaper. The only bad this are it needs a new sink (which the owner will be taking care of before we move in), new flooring and wallpaper (and in Korea, wallpaper goes on the ceiling, as well), and doesn't really have any nearby restaurants or shops.

Both of the apartments were around 1000 sq ft (our current one is about 640sq ft), so that will be a nice step up. DW's gonna be signing the papers for the cheaper one today, and we'll be moving at the end of October.

Wow, unless "ID" him in Canadian is a strip search procedure, I just don't get it. Sure, I may be at the moment, but then I'd move on. Whether or not they were wrong at the time, this incident sounds so minor that I wouldn't think it worth my time to continue to let it upset me.

Well, it's official....we're definitely going to be at WDW next June the week of my birthday!

It's off site, and probably will only do 3 or 4 park days....but it's official!

I haven't seen it yet. Saw the first few minutes, but never have caught the whole episode.

Friday was the start of an 11-day fireworks festival here in Pohang. The biggest event was a fireworks competition on Satuday night. Teams from China, Poland, and Italy competed. It was pretty cool to watch, but we weren't quite in an ideal area. Well, we were in a great spot to watch, but we weren't near any speakers, so I couldn't tell if the fain music we heard was to go with the fireworks. We stayed for Poland and China, and decided to leave after that, so that we could get a taxi or bus home and beat the crowd (I'd estimate that there was between 10-20,000 people there...like I said, a huge event). I'll see what I can do about uploading some video i took from my wife's iPhone, but that may not be till the end of the week.
