Lots to catch up on from the weekend, so I'll try to remember some of it here:

Don - nice work this weekend. Enjoy a nice cold beer at work today to wind down.
Mark - Nice meet ups, welcome back, sorry about the promotion, got the TR started yet?
Rob - Good luck on the college picking. I'd steer him to University of South Carolina. Gamecocks. Heee hee. I said Gamecocks. Hee hee
Andy - sorry about the rain. My wife was asking about your crop and the rain this weekend and was relieved when I told her you had another job and didn't depend solely on crop money. So she's worried about you too, if that makes you feel any better.
Corey - I'm begining to think you don't actually like us drunken Sconnies. :confused3

Everyone else - You're all pretty awesome too, but I ran out of memory space to remember what everyone was saying. :thumbsup2

For those interested, I updated the Nemesis Challenge thread with a write up on my run through Lambeau Field. Check it out here.

Well, I wouldn't say anything behind your back that I wouldn't say to your face. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

'Preciate that, Andy.

And it was GREAT to see you again Mark!! And your lovely bride, and cool kids too! We had a terrific time hanging out with you for that little bit that evening.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 SO glad you guys were able to come over. Always great to see your family. Oh, and you too. :rotfl2:

Thanks, thanks, thanks, and not yet. Still putting fires out at work.

Laundry day...trying to get it all done so I can get the kids to the pool this afternoon.

Most of the Sconies I have experience with are from Western Wisconsin. Like you said they are a different inbreed.

The finales will be in Indianapolis in a couple of weeks…
You’re a lot closer to that event then I am.

I’ve been following DCI since I was in my teens (back in the Stone Age). DW had never heard of such, but I took her to a show on the same night that I “officially” proposed to her… she actually enjoyed the whole thing (true story). Our son is now a rabid music fan and follows one of the corps in particular as closely as most teens follow a favorite sports team (and he plans to audition for them this coming season). He actually bought the tickets to the show last night. Given the amount of time we spend volunteering and working with our school’s music department, you could say that we’re all pretty hopeless geeks. ...

I would love to attend and my kids would get a kick out of it as well. SWMBO, not so much and as we haven't had a family vacation yet this year I don't have any goodwill stored up to draw on. We may do an extra day or two at the state fair or make a trip to Kings Island/Cincinnati Zoo/ Newport Aquarium and hopefully that will get me back on the positive side in my goodwill account.

1.7" since July 15 or 1.7" since May 15... however you want to look at it. :sad2:

Too little too late for the corn... yeah, we'll have some, but it isn't going to be pretty. With a dry year, there's potential for it to have Aflatoxin too, which would basically make it worthless.

Soybeans seem to have been rejuvinated by the rain, but we need a little more to fill the pods. They definitely won't be great, but we can still have a decent soybean crop.

Sorry to hear about the corn but glad you have some beans to fall back on. Things are still dry in western KY but most of eastern/central KY went from top 5 driest Junes on record to top 5 wettest July's on record. It will be an interesting late hurricane season as well is my guess.

I suspected it wasn’t good, but had hoped for a little better news.
Hopefully there will be enough precipitation in the near to salvage the soy.

I suspected as much.

Bad enough having to come back to work. Worse finding out I got passed over for another promotion. :sad1:

Sorry to hear that as well. :headache:
Sound’s like you’d have been better off just staying in Florida.
Well… except for the effect of that whole needing to earn a living nonsense that is.

I figured someone would be having fun with the local mascot.
I also figured that it would probably be you.

You’re welcome.

USC would be cheaper for me, but just to ease your mind…
the mascot for the school up in the mountains is: the “Catamounts”.
I’m certain that you’ll be able to entertain yourself just as well with that one.

I'll be at the DCI finals in about 10 days. Go colts!!!!!

Missed that one earlier. That's a kick below the waist waiting for you back at work.

Andy - sorry about the rain. My wife was asking about your crop and the rain this weekend and was relieved when I told her you had another job and didn't depend solely on crop money. So she's worried about you too, if that makes you feel any better.
I appreciate her concern. I do still have income, but to put the crop out required a signicant output. Add to that the fact that we're paying our part on some hospital bills, buying twice as many diapers, and DW has gone from full time to part time, it is still going to require some significant belt tightening over the next year. But at least we shouldn't lose the farm.

This was our number 1 driest June on the books. Not sure about July. I really quit paying attention to the weather part of the news. It was too depressing and too much BS for me. :lmao::rotfl2:

Now we're in the stage of worrying about some moron deciding that the roadside makes a better recepticle for their burning cigarette butt than their ash tray. :headache:

I was tempted, but I can't say that I'm surprised that Barry ran with it first. :lmao:

Lucky you.
Make you a deal… since I can’t be there, I’ll pull for the Colts is you yell a little extra loud for The Crown.

I’d like to see the Blue Devils go down this year, and last night the kids from Carolina almost pulled that off. A tie score in “G/E”, and first place “Horn Line” to Carolina. We flat out played them musically. But… the folks from California did just a bit better in the “Visual” category and squeaked by with a 0.2 point win

(but as Jack sparrow would say: “We’re catching up!”)

[/End DCI Geek Mode]

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming….

I’d have been surprised if he didn’t. :lmao:

Y’all feel free to take you shots at that one. We’ve heard ‘em all so go on ahead and get creative about it. Besides, mascots are the property of the athletic department. The folks in the school of music could care less.

Been getting some rain here. Beans look ok. Corn still looks bad. Glad to hear you're doing better.

Sorry to hear it. Hang in there.

Looks like we need to up your RAM.

Remember, all the clothes in one load. I get it done a lot faster that way.

Whatever type of business, all of you owners have my admiration. Bravo.

Had a work weekend here helping out some friends with house stuff. First, on Saturday I repaired some flooring for a lady at church. She had a burst pipe under the slab and just needed me to fix the flooring. Basic lock floating floor, but still a PITA to fix a small section. About 3 hours worth of work here:

Soooo glad I have a desk job today!

You have so much talent, but you forgot to stop by and install my kegerator. What gives?

Spent a pleasant Sunday evening at our area’s annual DCI event (that’s “Drum Corps International” for the more normal folks out there…

I didn't know that. But, even better, some one thinks I am a more normal folk. Thanks.

I figure that all the important stuff must be posted in white font
No wonder I never see any of it.

Oh… and as for the hundred pages you missed…
Make sure to read all the stuff written in white font...
(Apparently that’s where all the important stuff has been hiding).

:thumbsup2

I'd offer to help with the move, but the distance thing makes it just a little challenging...

Excuses. :confused3

Way behind on everything and not even going to try to catch up. DS and I are back in the holler and living the bachelor life for a few weeks. SWMBO and Jr.SWMBO stayed north to enjoy air conditioning. Not a problem really as it will give us some time to work the bees, sort out junk, eat lots of junk, and ease back into the routine again.

Way to give it the old college try. Glad your family is back.

You'd think so, but this guy is an beverly who wants to make a big deal out of something to prove he's a big shot. It was over freaking packs of Cold Shots (A 4 pack of sub-par Molson Canadian, higher alcohol %, in small mini-cans, useless stuff designed for a quick drink/buzz). It is totally idiotic that it went this far. I really don't need that kind of stress either with my blood pressure as high as it is.

Hate to hear it man. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with the retail/ customer world anymore. I just have a government bureacracy. :scared1:

Sorry to hear that Andy. You guys take a lot risk growing the food we eat.

We do not mention that H word down here. Hopefully it stays calm out there.
