DIS Dads DDC XXI - Passing Time Until Our Next Trip

Didn't surprise me at all with NBC. At least I don't think they are trying to put it over as "live" anymore.

I heard Bob Costas in an interview a couple of month ago saying it would be impossible and impractical to show it live in the US. I had to chuckle thinking it was funny that in Canada we always are able to see live events and we are geographical in a pretty similar location. It also made me remember that Bob Costas is an idiot (sort of like our very own Brian Williams). Will NBC's coverage include Chris Collinsworth (or NBC idiot #2 as I call him)?

You pretty much said it there. Not a big fan of NBC sports' coverage of anything.

my DD and I got a birdhouse to paint today and she made me so proud she painted Jack Skellington on the back, and of course my cars in the shop getting tires & brakes when AirGoofy is in town, hopefully we can still meet up with him and his family before they leave.

Hurry. The Visa card is on fire. It was a last minute idea,and sorry, I was in RFC in the storm when you called earlier. If we can't today, then we'll try another time. Call or text me if you have a chance.

This morning's soccer game ended in a 4 - 4 draw. About to head out for game #2.

Collonsworth is terrible. He's the best receiver,best catch of the year, best whatever - he just stinks. Costas has some moments where he is good, but he thinks way too highly of himself.

Lunch at RFC in Nashville today followed by shopping at Opry Mills Mall. Drank 40 ounces of Yuengling draft. A great lunch. Family split their combo appetizer and volcano dessert. Enjoyed coconut shrimp as entree.

So far, I have a new pair of crocs, bought lots of stuff at Disney Outlet, DW has new swimsuit, and she's now shopping Vero Bradley. Ahhhhhhhhh! Where's the extraction team.

I hate any former player that becomes an announcers and acts as if they were the best player ever. Collinworsth is one of those and so is Joe Morgan, can't stand listening to either of them.

I think that I need to take a trip to the mid-west. Rain seems to follow me this week.

I spent several days on mountain tops this week and was chased off of one due to storms coming our way.

Yesterday, we had a big storm at home that tore up more trees and cut the power for six hours (some of you may remember that I was without power for six days just a few weeks ago). This was going as we were trying to pack and get a few other things done.

Today, we get to the beach and a large thunderstorm rolls through. Got some wind, LOTS of lightning, and heavy downpours.

Good news is that this storm is supposed to lower the temperature and stay in the 80's all week.

I think the price was about $12. The dancing skeleton shirt was cool too.

A lot of folks seem to be heading toward the coast in the near.
We are leaving for Garden City on the SC coast this Thursday evening as well.

My dad gave me my first drink - a gin & tonic. Hated it. I was is middle school. In 7th or 8th grade, I had my first taste of beer - loved it. But, my family distilled it (legally and not so much) and even has a couple recipes for it.

I do agree with the 21 law being a bad idea - you're considered 18 as an adult to buy cigarettes and fight for your country and pay your taxes, but not drink alcohol.

Tom Jackson, when he first appeared on NFL Primetime, when it was just him and Chris Berman was my favorite former player turned announcer. Yes, he did play for a KY school (UL), but I didn't think he made the show about him. Once they added the rest of them, it just started going down hill.

Sorry we missed you today. It was one of those last minute trips to start DW's staycation. We had a fun day, but would have liked to meet up with you and your bunch. If we don't get to before, then we will look forward to MNSSHP in October.

The Dark Knight Rises was intense, a really good story. And, I won't do a spoiler post, but at the end, I remember reading it in th comic book but I still didn't put it together. But, that's the way I am at a movie - just lose myself in it.

I definitely think the the movie needed more shots of Catwoman in that outfit riding the motorcycle.
