At my son's karate class today my wife kinda shocked me I was talking Disney with one of the parents there since they are going to WDW during the summer and they asked how many times a year we go, I said once a year,, my wife said well maybe this year it will be twice, so I said really, she said maybe the 1st week in Nov, I'm on vacation and she only works 2 days that week she was going to see if she could get off, I told her she has a month to decide since I don't want to miss the 180 ADR window

So we will see what happens, I'm in no position to say no to another WDW trip

This truly was another special vacation. We had perfect weather the entire time, with only a t-storm one time that closed the beach, but it was around 2:30 PM when we had planned to leave anyway. It was in the high 70s or low 80s the rest of the time. Thank you for letting me share my vacation with you. I still have 2 more vacation days this week, but will be washing clothes and the van tomorrow, and then Friday, who knows. Maybe a trip over to the zoo. We'll see. Maybe I can go and fall asleep now. Good night.

Thanks all or the birthday wishes, think it is going to be a good and fruitfull day

Today is historically one of the busier days at work. Plus there should be 15 or so skids of stock to break down, plus possibly 4 beer skids So at least there is something to do I've brought some painkillers with me just in case. DW is taking me out to dinner to Tuckers Marketplace, main;y cause I'll eat for free, kids pay their ages, so Itll be a relative cheap meal It'll still be a good day at work though, people are unravelling fast, and I get to watch the show.

You are correct though, it's the entry level of scouting here in Canada.

Yeah spent a week asking people how to sign my son up for Beavers. It didn't help when I tried to explain it was the group you go into before Cubs.

Heh...when I got to work this morning we found out that yesterday the whole place went to Beverly. To the point the boss called in HIS boss in to discuss the matter. Let's just say, a little Karma was dealt. NOt sure what the fallout will be, but isn';t going to get me! Spent the morning fixing things, tomorrow is a big load of stock, all for me to tear down. Lots of angry people I get to show up. Best early present EVER!

Isn't it funny how people don't understand the fact that if you screw up, being all pissy about it after you get called out makes it worse. I've been promoted twice in my career for the sole fact that when everyone around me started getting ticked off at every little thing I just kept doing the same thing I had been doing, but somehow by comparison it looked like I was really stepping up.

The "old" DISDads logo, caught the attention of the Disney lawyers, and we were asked to change it. It's the blue Mickey ears, that looks strikingly similar to the Disney channel logo.

Morning Dads! Some office work and when I get tired of that I have some greenhouse and plot work to do. I always try and get the desk cleaned off before vacation in case I don't come back. I wouldn't want people to try to sort through all this mess. The semi-final answer came down from the Dean and things are relatively calm (a bit like the DMZ in Korea). The Dean's time is short though so I expected another round of chaos in the next 18 months.

Will it ever be next year for the Cubs fans?

I always love going to Reds games when the Cubs are in town. Their fans come out in large numbers and talk all kinds of trash. It's usually pretty easy to shut them up though.

One of my favorites was 2 years ago, opening weekend. There were 4 of us, sitting right behind a group of 6 Cubs fans about our age. They were drinking. We were drinking. Cubs took an early lead. They were talking all kinds of trash. By about the 6th inning, the Reds had the lead and I had them bad mouthing their own team. I love Alfonso Soriano... as long as he's in Chicago.

Got back from the game a bit ago. The Marlins stunk up the place. Down 3-0 after two innings and didn't get a hit until the 7th inning. The ballpark itself is nice. Definitely has a "Miami" feel to it. Took forever to get a couple of dogs and a beer. One line I was in ran out of beer just before I got there. Oh the horror. Took mass transit and it was easy to get there. You guys need to get down here and catch a game.

Looks like an awesome park. Too bad their performance didn't exactly live up to expectations. You're going to have fun this year with Ozzie as manager. They showed his reaction on TV to that slow grounder that got between Reyes and Ramirez and said something along the lines of "it's started already and only 161 games to go."

I can't believe they'd run out of beer on opening night!!!

Barry - No tailgating at the new ballpark and I can't afford beer and dogs for 4 hours before the game.

No tailgating??? That's why they've had trouble drawing crowds for the last several years. They didn't need a new park, they just needed to allow "fun."

Anybody reading the new Kingdom Keepers book yet? I downloaded it from Kindle the other day and am maybe 1/4 through it. Not bad, but the last few haven't been near as good as the first 2, IMO. I'm just not as into this one. They've got so many characters in it anymore that it feels like it keeps jumping around and it is a little bit harder to follow.

I've listened to all of them in my car. I thought they were ok but not as good as I'd hoped. Seems like the kind of story that may actually be better as a tv series or movie than a book. I like the concept and all of the references to Disney stuff that people like us might understand, but I think the writing is actually a little weak.
