They had a selection of candies at several of the gift shop at WDW.
...and you can use a snack credit!

:cool1: TGIT:banana: Just thought I'd post this for any Dads like myself who work weekends and get off on Wed:rolleyes1

So, back from the low country boil. Girls are changing into pjs. I snuck away to post some pics of the festivities.

We went back to the beach house for dinner. We found our reservations.

temporary-48.jpg

While we ate, we had some fiddle and ukulele tunes. Outdoor dining with beautiful view.

temporary-46.jpg

What's in the low country boil? Shrimp, potato, sausage. The buffet also included corn on cob, fish, chicken, hush puppies, Caesar salad, gumbo, rice, apple pie, brownie, lemonade, tea, cornbread, and probably a few others. Like other Disney buffets, they tame down the spices with the buffet for all to eat.

temporary-47.jpg

Then, some entertainment for dds. They also did a cake bingo walk with all the children.

temporary-49.jpg

Then, an evening stroll with high tide. This pick was from around the same place as this morning. It is amazing to see how much the tide comes in.

temporary-50.jpg

So, another great Disney vacation. Tomorrow, after we load the car, we will find a nice place to eat late breakfast or early lunch and then it is on the road. Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Thanks. Also, I received an email discount offer from Disney Visa today for the 2013 marathon. I'm not running, but I think it is around the same time the DisDad convention. I'm sure Aaron and/or our Disney superstar travel agents will get a great room discount rate, but thought I would share that with any other DisDad marathoners. You probably can't get both discounts, but thought I'd share.

Thanks.

We only did 5 nights. In part to save points, but also, because while we usually do the week at WDW, we have never taken a vacation that long anywhere else. Honestly, I didn't if we would like it. From another commando, well currently every other day commando, I get the park one day and the resort the next day. But, here, I knew it would be pool or beach, and that's it. And, we were really blessed with great weather. We also know that we can vacation for a week somewhere else besides WDW. Next time, we may try the kayak, fishing, or dolphin tours.

Here's the mileage report for our recent trip:

Day 1: 1/2 day Epcot

Day 2: MK

Day 3: Epcot

Day 4: DHS

Day 5: AK

Total: 32.771 miles walked.

It doesn't seem like that many while you are walking around:confused3, To be honest this scares the heck out of me I wouldn't want to see how many we did since it would probably make me tired:scared1:

Nice job on the workout:thumbsup2

I got that email, its for $15 off the marathon or half marathon entry. I don't think there were any room discounts included, but could be wrong...

I'm planning on running the full marathon (due in large part to the promise of a new 20th anniversary medal), anyone else in? :confused3

Just booked a night at the GF May 13 to extend my work conference a day, which gives DW the opportunity to come down for 2 days and do the parks with me! :cool1: Will be our first trip to WDW alone since before DD was born. Hope we don't feel too guilty about not taking the kids (We're bringing them in Sept. so I don't feel that bad! ;)), but it will be nice to do some adult rides, together! :lmao:

Big thanks to Aaron for working his TA magic and getting me a sweet rate and booking it for me. :thumbsup2

Great pictures and updates Norm!! I have always wondered what the DVC resort and beach area looked like as we passed it!!! I wish I could recall where we ate breakfast on the way out of town. It was on tripadvisor..that is how I found it. You trip has made me want to get back there before August!!! Safe travels home!!!

this day flew by... probably going to be like that for the next couple of weeks. So much going on and so little time. Despite feeling like I didn't accomplish much, it was a pretty good day. DS has shifted his schedule a bit, and I need to adjust. Tomorrow I need to do some shopping to get some things for DS's big birthday party in two weeks. DW wanted to rent a bounce house, but for the rental price we can just buy one at Toys R Us. Then afterwards we can try to sell it (or rent it out??) to get our money back.

rough night at work, did the best I could with what I was given. Frustrating to be in those situations.

Want to go to sleep now, but DS has nebulizer treatment in 1 hour...

Hope the rest of the week improves for you and you can get some sleep. When things get like that just remind yourself that you are doing it for the ones you love.

Morning Duck and the rest of the guys,

Fell asleep soon after getting settled back in the real world. Slept like the dead. Successful trip but need to go to the bank to get a temp card. Will deal with the drivers license replacement later.

It was funny after getting out of the airport and getting hit in the face with the heat and humidity. DD commented that we are not in NY anymore. It was steamy in comparison. May have to continue the college tour in Orlando and Tallahassee. No complaints on doing Orlando but Tally is a pain to get to. She needs to decide soon.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Glad you made it back without too many problems. When it is not necessary to make a decision it is necessary to not make a decision.

Morning guys!

Momma bear is still down and out, so I am once again getting the girls ready for school. Gonna be another long day at work.:surfweb:

Matt

Hope the Mrs. is feeling better soon.

Morning guys!

Nice.

...
Well, time to get the morning started. We all slept in late with last night's game. Congrats to Kansas who played a good game. It is cloudy and 70 degree high today. This wil be our last full day here and will leave tomorrow. Tonight is Disney's low country boil and am excited to end this trip with another Disney magic event (hopefully). ...

Have a safe trip back.

Morning guys!
DW asked me last night to see if I could get a scratch out of the wood on a bed we picked up for DS on the weekend. 2 hours later I had sanded the entire headboard completely bare. Nothing like bringing a bazooka to a knife fight!

Sanding is relaxing to me. Once I start making sawdust I don't like to stop.

Morning guys. :surfweb:

Won some good money on my office bracket, thanks to UK, so today's off to a good start. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

:scared1: I need a nap after just looking at those numbers.

Looks like some great memories to draw upon when the man has got you down. How many more years until retirement?

All quiet on the Eastern Front. DD has decided to bunk down with SWMBO because of the thunderstorms so I may just call it an early night. Thankfully we bought DD a good mattress when we got her bed. I will have a good night of sleep and they will both be grumpy in the morning. DD and the Mrs. both talk in their sleep, and DD hogs the bed and SWMBO snores. :lmao:
