 I've always wondered how much walking is done in the parks! So how many times did you walk back and forth between the mountains at MK? :lmao:

Fell asleep soon after getting settled back in the real world. Slept like the dead. Successful trip but need to go to the bank to get a temp card. Will deal with the drivers license replacement later.

It was funny after getting out of the airport and getting hit in the face with the heat and humidity. DD commented that we are not in NY anymore. It was steamy in comparison. May have to continue the college tour in Orlando and Tallahassee. No complaints on doing Orlando but Tally is a pain to get to. She needs to decide soon.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

good luck! I am really not looking forward to DD going to college. Good thing it's a long way off.

Morning guys!

Momma bear is still down and out, so I am once again getting the girls ready for school. Gonna be another long day at work.:surfweb:

Matt

Hope your day is going well.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That was hilarious... especially the beer in a sundae cup.

And none of it is faked. They actually did all that stuff while stranded at the airport. I liked the escalator spin!!

That Christmas trip (and writing the trip report) were great! I had New Year's Day all written, but the thread closed, so I didn't talk about Crystal Palace being "meh" that day. But for all the talk about crowds (and it wasn't a lie), the decorations MORE than made up for it (in my opinion). Especially the Osborne lights.

This picture is from an improptu trip this February with my DS4 and my Mother-in-Law. A 1-day trip report seems a lot of work, but since I took a lot of pictures, and we did a lot, I may still write it up. Using the Emma's Dad rule, I only have 61 days to finish it before my next WDW trip!:scared1:

Doing my TR was like reliving the vacation, even 6 months or so after the fact. I was exhausted after writing about new year's eve. I haven't gotten around to New Year's Day yet. I better get moving before it gets closed, and before my next trip. :rotfl2:

Morning guys!

First of all, this rocks!! where can I get this?? Secondly, it beats the pants off my snack posting:

What is making it even tougher for me is that our dues this year paid for this hotel stay. So, our trip to WDW in fall is paid for, outside of tickets and food. Naturally, I tart thinking about booking here or Vero once a year for that perk, but i have also really enjoyed the two trips a year to WDW. Conundrum.

compromise... WDW twice every other year. One stay at HHI or Vero or wherever the years in between.

My youngest dd, who just now woke up, keeps wanting to know the name of the resort. She gets that we are not in FL, sometimes, but wants to know its name. They have one of those road map direction poles, which points in the direction of the other DVC RESORTs. So, Boardwalk is 300 miles, Beach Club is 307, Aulani is 4K miles. She is right. All the other have names.

Boardwalk and Beach Club 7 miles apart??? :confused3

very cool. I now have a pedometer app on my phone, but I'm sure my phone's battery will die each day at WDW.

it's a beautiful day here in NY (now that CJ left).

Enrolled DS in a toddler gym class today. DD went to the same place from about 1 to 3yo. After that we went to toys r us to buy the bounce house for his party. He fell asleep on the way there, and then awoke surrounded by toys... I was waiting for him to look at me and say, "Daddy, is this heaven?"

picked up DD and we went to the park for a bit. home now, had lunch and DS is napping. time to get my DD to test out the bouncer.

2 more hours left before work.

I'm glad that the TSA still allows employees to exercise common sense to some extent and you were able to make it home. That's too bad about the parking issue. Did you have money or a card to even pay for it? :confused3

No card and luckily DD had some spare cash. Made it by a few bucks.

Went to the bank and got a replacement card. Then to the vet to pick up the dogs. The mutt I did not want had his doghood removal surgery. Did not calm him down a bit.

CJ: Glad you made it home, even though you couldn't prove who you were. Come to think of it, is this really CJ posting? :confused3

Only the Shadow knows.

 Welcome to NY... sheesh

Whew :cool1: With all the stories you hear about TSA lately, you never know WHAT they'll do to you. "What? No license? Please step over here and bend over..." :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Glad to hear you made it back safely, CJ! That humidity WILL kill you, though.:lmao:

Thought the same thing with TSA. The big plus is it was a return trip. That and I had the kid in tow. Plus I had drugs on me.

My pleasure to bring you a little nice weather by leaving. It is 85 and sunny here right now. So there. Sorry we did not stop by the studio to wave, maybe next time a multi Dis Dad meet.

Watching the news here at work and seeing some videos from the tornados in Texas. Looks pretty nasty. I hope John and everyone else around there stays safe.

Same here. Stay safe John and all of Texas. Really ugly weather.

Tuesday night vacation ownage.

.

I like your thinking. It is nice to have these type of dilemmas. As for the 7 miles, perhaps it is by GPS or perhaps they are including the lake in between the two resorts. Who knows?

Morning guys!

Bravo. Now, if we only had a ringtone to go with that!

Norm: Still loving the pictures! Puts me in a good place for a few minutes.
:thumbsup2

Happy to help. You have had a bad run of it recently, but once the ship is corrected, things will be back to normal. You have a great family, and that showed during our meet that time in Louisville.

I would have thought AK would be more miles. We end up walking the whole thing several times to get all the shows and rides in? Did you get all those in? Bravo to you for figuring out how to do it.

It makes for a great work out and you don't realize it. Plus it helps walk off all the food you eat when on the dining plan or all of the dole whips.:lmao:
If i remember correctly when we went for 7 days in 2011 our milage count was around 45 miles. Granted that included the bumps from the rides so not an accurate number but still.

Let's go with some Tuesday live trip report action.

Back to the beach in AM. Low tide again.

Today proved to be a windy one and overcast.

So, DW had bought a blue cinderella castle bucket. It was some real sand castle building today. I think the second one was turned upside down, but it includes three castles, some parking garages, a wedding chappell, a pool, hot tub, and kid's pool.

The dds had gathered some sea shells for decorating. Little did they know the seagulls we watching. This one dived down and stole one of their seashells, but was disappointed a dropped it a few feet later.

temporary-40.jpg

During their exploration, oldest found a sandollar (intact) and younger found a crab. Here is the crab.

temporary-42.jpg

The oldest had placed th sandollar as the clock tower in one of the towers. But, I think th crab must have charged the castle so she attacked the crab and th crab lost a leg. Not to be wasteful, the placed the crab leg on the sandollar to indicate the time. Brilliant? Serial killer predictor?

We returned to the main resort/pool area for lunch, water slide, shuffleboard, & corn hole. All showered and heading to the low country oil. May or may not post more pics tonight and tomorrow is time to pack up and drive home. So, if no more pics for a while, have a continued magical day.
