Thanks Don and everyone else!

No, I would love to put it off, but I put if off last summer, so its really needed now, especially after the last hurricane that came thru in Sept. Im working on getting a few more estimates, and hopefully something will come in a little closer to 5K.

Matt

Any chance there is a homeowner's insurance claim? Our roof got ripped off 2 years ago with hurricane but the insurance covered it. Still had to pay deductible.

No, it was enough damage to justify the claim, just alot of missing tiles. My road was the only one in Currituck County that never lost power during the hurricane. Go figure.

It's mornings like this that actually put me in the mood to look forward to the day. Supposed to be sunny and in the mid 60s today, so I dug out the shorts and "Mickey in Paradise" shirt. Walked outside and there was just a bit of a nip in the air and everything was covered with dew and had that smell of a new spring day to it. Reminds me of my early morning walks around a WDW resort.
And I'll still have 3 or 4 hours of sunlight when I get home from work to play with the kids outside. In the immortal words of Phineas and Ferb: Today's Gonna Be A Great Day!

That stinks. When we filed our claim, we had to argue with insurance. They wanted to patch half the shingles and leave other half alone. I guess the reasoning was for us to replace the other half after first rain. There was wind damage to many homes. But, after persistance, they finally covered it. Good luck.

Not sure about the aquarium though. Supposedly break proof but can imagine a foul tip breaking the glass and the bat boys running around grabbing tropical fish.
.

I can see that in the next baseball movie. :happytv::rotfl:

Hi Guys just checking in to say HI and I just got in ten minutes ago and see where I had to go first :worship::worship::worship: nice to be back here at Dis Dads you guys are all awesome !!!!!!!!!
Full report tommorow just to tired to do it now :sad2:

Welcome back.

Good morning guys :thumbsup2

During driving yesterday I heard a talking head discuss how over rated the Big Ten is :rolleyes1. He is a former PAC 10 guy. How many of those teams made the tournament :confused3

I see a future rematch coming. If UK can get past the UConn rematch.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Um, I mean, yes, it's bad.

You should have sent a note back saying, "Sorry, we told her to write 'Books are for buttheads.' Our mistake."

My initial thought was to write," you are a great teacher. She spelled all those words correctly; however, her penmanship needs improvement".

We had SNOW. Not much, about a half inch here. A buddy of mine living 15 miles or so south had 3" by his estimate. As he is a truck driver, I will accept his judgement.

Welcome back...

Morning Duck and Mr. and Mrs America!

Feeling a little down today, I have to have the roof done on the house, and the last estimate was about 6200$ Seeing as we dont have nearly that much set aside, I can almost see our Thanksgiving Disney trip going away. But... such is life I guess.

Matt

The joys of home ownership...

You know... we DISDad's do have a lottery pool... ;)

I wouldn't bank on that though.

Reality of life sucks sometimes... sorry to hear.

High 74 here today... unbelievable. I did some work outside yesterday after work. Probably do a few more things, but then I have a fantasy baseball draft at 7pm... I guess I'll take the laptop outside, throw something on the grill, and crack open a beer while we're drafting.

Morning guys,

Just booked flights to NY for DD's College Road Trip. Tour of St. John's and she has an overnighter with a current student at Seaton Hall. I am looking forward to seeing a couple of friends up there. The Pirate Princess is more excited about seeing a show than visiting the campuses.

Have a great day Barry. Won't comment on the weather down here other than to say DD is on Spring break and she will be at the beach all day.

Congratulations, Mark!

Is anybody else shocked by the fact that the Tag Fairy must be reading Barry's TR? :confused3

::yes:: :wave2:

Only one more, Mark!! 4K :cool1:

I suppose I need to come up with something profound for my 4,000th post, but I'm going through a spell in my life when life seems to produce only questions, no answers. As always, I am thankful for the DIS Dads and their friendship, camaraderie, prayers and laughter. As we continue life's journey together, ponder such mysteries as these:

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Are we governed by predestination or free will?

Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii?

How do the Philadelphia Eagles determine the best candidate to be their defensive coordinator?

And why is it called Apartments when they are all stuck together?
Why do we drive on the parkway, and park on the driveway?
And the most important question, if pro is the opposite of con, what is the opposite of progress?

Congrats on 4k Mark.
