Stopher, have a great time...everyone else too for that matter. Time to head off to work. :thumbsup2

woke up this morning feeling sick. I think I have the flu. I was praying to the porcelain goddess, and I've been achy and feverish all day. Can't really call in sick the second day of work, so i'm popping pain killers, hydrating myself, and hoping to tough it out.

DS is down for a nap, so a quick shower and a nap might help.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Man Law!!!!

SECOND

Though I'm not sure I can second my own concept...someone check, I can't remember:lmao::lmao:

This is a long standing rule in my line of work. I distinctly remember an instructor waaaaaaaaaaaay back when I was a basic cadet (1993) telling us about "certifications" and their shortcomings--in other words, having to be certified on certain "defense tactics" such as the carotid artery hold (chokehold), Pressure point controls, etc. etc...

He went on to tell us that if we were in a fight for our lives and the only thing we could get our hands on was a brick, guess what we just became "certified" in? Brick defense tactics---such as bashing the bad guy with the brick until he lets go:lmao::lmao:

I haven't forgotten that one....

In a gun fight, you always cheat--if you plan to win:thumbsup2

Seconded or Thirded

I'm not going to challenge you if you want to second your own thing particularly given the topic.

This is absolutely as useful in business as it is in a physical confrontation

I'll THIRD that then.

We can move my third to a second if the committe doesn't accept Fed's second on his own concept.:lmao::rotfl2:

Ok, maybe I Fourth it then... :confused3

I guess it is fifthed, so we need Don to add it to the front page :thumbsup2

I think we have enough votes on this one :rolleyes1 MAN LAW passed... page one updated! :thumbsup2

We're doing a studio for our trip as well. With 3 adults and 2 kids! :scared1:

I know we're nuts....but we keep telling ourselves that we're not in our room that much.

Plus both kids are younger than 5.

Wish us luck!

We've stayed in both a 1 bedroom an a studio with DD and DS, and while the one bedroom is very nice and roomy, we found that we're not in the room enough to really get a ton of value out of it. So we just do whatever works point-wise now depending on the timing we're visiting . We did a Studio at Kidani for the marathon and will do a 1 br at BLT for Food and Wine in Oct.

Just a few shots, and then I need to hit the sheets. LONG day. Exhausted boy. Full day tomorrow awaits...

Lei-type necklaces are given upon your arrival. This beaded variety is for the men. She explained it to me, but I don't remember it all now. Something about these beads are an oil producing bead, and like everything else at Aulani are very traditional in Hawaiian culture

The view from my 5th floor room - looking down at Waikolohe Valley (the pool, lazy river, water play area, etc) - plus I have an Ocean View - not a great view, but it is an ocean view. That dark water in the bottom of the picture is Rainbow Reef, the snorkeling lagoon. It was closed by the time I got down there to look at it all, but it looks pretty neat. Expensive to try at $20 for one visit, or you can pay $39 for a length of stay pass. Not sure I'm going to do it, but it does look neat.

I love the etheral look of this particular entrance into the caves under the water slides (for the lazy river)

One of the many, many Menehune found around the resort. This particular one is similar to the "follow you" busts in my favorite attraction - the Haunted Mansion. It's a very blurry shot, as the camera kept trying to refocus as face wouldn't stay still. I'm determined to get a better one before I leave here.

The Resort looks AWESOME:cool1:
Looking forward to more pics:woohoo:

EEEEK you did say you worked for a Chinese network, I hope it isn't bird flu. Feel better soon and good luck tonight!

I don't fight fair. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. Let's just say my home is well defended...being named in specific threats will do that to you.;):cool2:

They make a fine impact weapon....and bayonets are fun:rolleyes1:cool1::rotfl2::lmao:

Fed was once in a knife fight.

The knife lost.

;)

I am happy to report that I did finally get in touch with the man in charge at the new job, and got the location and started work tonight! This gig is perfect for my schedule, and all indications are that it is very low stress, which is a plus!

I am now working for CCTV America. CCTV is a big Chinese Broadcasting company and they are launching a network here. I'm the Director/Technical Director for the NY studio component of an hour-long financial news show which originates mostly from Washington, DC. Our segments are shot inside the Nasdaq Marketsite studio in Times Square (CNBC's Fast Money uses this same studio).

Another plus is that my new boss didn't seem at all concerned when I told him I wouldn't be available for 2 whole weeks over the summer because of our planned WDW vacation.

Thank you all again for your good wishes and prayers and putting up with my ranting over the past few months. It's been tough and I am very relieved to have found this job (even if I have to work for China).

:cool1::banana::woohoo:
congrats!!! glad to hear.
What has been with the DIS the last couple of days??:confused3
:surfweb:I could not get on except but once or twice and could not post.

I won't take the time to go back and check through the posts so please fill me in if I missed anything of great importance.

I used the new DVC online reservation system today and booked the XMAS 2012 trip. Right now we are checking in on 24 Dec and checking out 30 Dec and staying at AKL Kidani in a Savanna View. This is all predicated on getting a job somewhere, preferably with Boeing. I did get an email from USPS asking me to schedule interviews for two different job postings. I called and have not been able to schedule either yet.
good luck!

DW and I have talked about trying to take up golf together. We've thought that it could be a fun way to spend the afternoon together. Lack of funds, time, babysitters and the realization that we are both very competitive and that we don't need a hobby that pits us against each other has kept this at the "wouldn't it be neat when we get older" idea stage.

GOLF = Going Out Less Females. :lmao:
tammy went one time with a buddy of mine and his wife (who never played). never again. all that foul language!!! i just couldnt take it.:lmao:
i dont get out as much as i use to. i didnt get out at all last year. the couple who go to wdw alot, he plays and we hit the palm and lake buena vista one time each over the last 5 years and played a few time around home but thats been it. lake buena isnt to bad. the palm is narrow. i always took two golf balls with me up to the tee box. between all the water, trees and narrow fairways.:lmao::lmao:

:headache:

Nemisis is at Aulani...ummm I've got nothing.

I'm in north Atlanta...nope...working.

CURSE YOU STOPHER THE NEMISIS!!!!

Cabrera is trying to get down to around 255-260 in order to play 3B. Apparently the Tigers are trying to recruit linemen to play the corners. Either that or Fielder and Cabrera could be a new WWE Tag Team contender :thumbsup2

DAVE, HI DAVE. :wave2:

Did you wind up shifting your trip so that you'll be able to do wine and dine?

:lmao: We still have the Christmas tree up:rotfl2:
If it's artificial, just ignore it for a bit. If you can ignore it long enough then you'll just be prepared for next year a little early.
