Morning guys. Another Wednesday...

I am happy to report that I did finally get in touch with the man in charge at the new job, and got the location and started work tonight! This gig is perfect for my schedule, and all indications are that it is very low stress, which is a plus!

I am now working for CCTV America. CCTV is a big Chinese Broadcasting company and they are launching a network here. I'm the Director/Technical Director for the NY studio component of an hour-long financial news show which originates mostly from Washington, DC. Our segments are shot inside the Nasdaq Marketsite studio in Times Square (CNBC's Fast Money uses this same studio).

Another plus is that my new boss didn't seem at all concerned when I told him I wouldn't be available for 2 whole weeks over the summer because of our planned WDW vacation.

Thank you all again for your good wishes and prayers and putting up with my ranting over the past few months. It's been tough and I am very relieved to have found this job (even if I have to work for China).

:cool1::banana::woohoo:

Congrats!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: That's awesome!

Congratulations. I'm glad it worked out for you. Sounds like a great opportunity and it's awesome that it fits so well with your schedule.

Just a few shots, and then I need to hit the sheets. LONG day. Exhausted boy. Full day tomorrow awaits...
Thanks for the update and the pics Stopher. Once again its great to hear get to live vicariously through you. I'll be curious on what you think an ideal stay length at Aulani would be and if you think it would be worth it to do a split stay.

I hope everyone is having a good morning. If you see me randomly smelling myself throughout the day don't worry, I'm just wearing a bacon scented t-shirt.

Is this a future look at you in retirement? :lmao:

We go to that one and the outlet in Jacksonville. I think that one is called Disney Character premier. I think they both tend to have different stuff than our local Disney outlet although frankly I don't get to any of the frequently enough to do a good comparison. I believe the outlet in Orlandomit be slightly larger, buti think the one in st Augustine had a better selection of Disney technical tees. I think the outlet in Orlando had more pins.

If you are gonnadrivethrough St.Augustine you should check out Robs trip report he did some pretty cool things there.

Thanks for the tip! We usually stop around there, so maybe we'll hit the outlets and grab lunch! We're fairly close to St. Augustine, and have visited before. It's def a great place to make a day or two out of.

Thanks!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Great news! Sounds like it all worked out perfectly :)

What has been with the DIS the last couple of days??:confused3
:surfweb:I could not get on except but once or twice and could not post.

I won't take the time to go back and check through the posts so please fill me in if I missed anything of great importance.

I used the new DVC online reservation system today and booked the XMAS 2012 trip. Right now we are checking in on 24 Dec and checking out 30 Dec and staying at AKL Kidani in a Savanna View. This is all predicated on getting a job somewhere, preferably with Boeing. I did get an email from USPS asking me to schedule interviews for two different job postings. I called and have not been able to schedule either yet.

Good luck with the job search! :thumbsup2

We're staying Aug 19-29 at the Boardwalk. 19-24th in a 1 bedroom, then 25-29th in a studio. Our friend's wedding is the 24th at the Wedding Pavilion with the reception at the Boardwalk.

:woohoo: Trip booked! Nice! But... I'm wondering how the family is going to adjust going from the 1 bedroom to a studio. popcorn::

Stopher! Glad you made it safely and thanks for the pics and review! :thumbsup2 I can now dream vicariously through your trip! :lmao:

Just as a word of warning. The Disney outlet is not in the outdoor shopping outlet in St. Augustine. It is across the street in the mall. If you park around back near the food court that is the closest entrance to the Disney Outlet.

Looks smaller than our sit and stand. Ours does not handle well. Can't turn the darn thing. We thought it would be great for WDW, but now we're looking at other options.

Yes - they say it's the same size as a standard single stroller. We'll see...it comes to the house today.

We looked at the other brand of "sit and stand" strollers and that was their first complaint - they couldn't steer it. This one has the shorter wheel base which limits the weight being so far out in front of you, which makes it so hard to steer.

OH...and congrats on the Job!

Mornin' Guys :wave2:

We're wondering the same thing. :rolleyes1
But our reasoning is thus: when we first get there, we'll have all of the wedding stuff - fancy clothes, dresses for the girls, etc. After the wedding on Thursday, we can pack all that stuff up and send it with Bambi's parents to their place in Lakeland, only keeping the stuff we'll need for the last few days.
Plus, the studios are much cheaper points wise, especially on the weekends. So we have more points for spring break. :thumbsup2

I've always kind of figured Fed'd be packing something more updated than an M1. :confused

Yes, but where's the challenge in shooing those punks off your lawn with a Rambo-style M60? I'll bet Fed keeps a flint lock next to the door, just to give the kids a fighting chance.

I enjoy playing golf, but I think I've played all of four times since we started having kids, and maybe once since we've had two.

I really enjoyed golf pre-SWMBO. The last day I picked up my clubs was my wedding day when I went to the range and hit a bucket of balls before the wedding.

Never enough time or $ now.

Yeah while 1 bedroom > studio
"split stay to save enough points for another trip" > "1 bedroom all week"
"any trip to WDW" > "sitting at home"
It sounds like it's gonna be a fun trip. Less space just makes you a tighter knit family.

With the flint lock he has to get them to line up like lemmings so he can take the whole group out at once. Although my guess is that if I was a punk being chased by an angry Fed with a revolutionary war era rifle, being shot would be only 1 of many concerns.

DW and I have talked about trying to take up golf together. We've thought that it could be a fun way to spend the afternoon together. Lack of funds, time, babysitters and the realization that we are both very competitive and that we don't need a hobby that pits us against each other has kept this at the "wouldn't it be neat when we get older" idea stage.

:lmao::lmao: Probably....

I don't fight fair. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. Let's just say my home is well defended...being named in specific threats will do that to you.;):cool2:

They make a fine impact weapon....and bayonets are fun:rolleyes1:cool1::rotfl2::lmao:
