Of course, the fact that i referred to it as a 'taxpayer funded campaign stop' might have upset the partisans.

I'm sorry, but regardless of his political affiliation, he's the currently elected President of the United States and is currently fighting to be re-elected.

How else would you describe it? :confused3 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Well isn't that funny. I just got a warning for political infractions for suggesting how upset i would be if my trip to MK tomorrow was messed up due to the campaign stop by the president. Touchy folks around here.

Not surprised. :sad2:

"Let me be clear"...when speaking (typing) things political...you must choose your words carefully.

Morning DisDads :surfweb:

Hope all is well. I've been MIA for a few days. I blame both Skyrim and The Hunger Games.

I come to you all with questions. I know this has been discussed, well, everywhere, but I'll open the can of worms. DW is due in May. She has the WDW bug really bad, and is bugging me to put a date on the calendar when we'll be going back. She's thinking October, which will put new D(x) at 5mo. As much as I really, really want to plan this trip, I feel as if this will beway too soon. Traveling with a 5mo to the mall is difficult enough let alone a week at WDW, not to mention first time flying for both D(x)5mo and DD5 at time of travel.

I'm really stuck on this one. Do we force a trip in Oct. because we both want to go, or do we buck up and hold out until Summer 2013 when D(x) will be 1yo, or in wife speak, 14mo?

Any comments and experiences with both 5mo and 14-16mo babies at WDW welcomed, along with unrelated banter to up one's post count.

Help me DisDads. Yinz are my only hope.

Cheers,
Indy

We have experience on doing a trip on the older side of that equation. Our first trip was when DD was 18 months old and DS was 4. We had a blast on that trip. DD did sleep in the stroller but for the most part she had a really good time. I just rewatched our video from that trip and I was surprised at how much we did on that trip. That being said I think a lot of it depends on your child. Both my kids had problems sleeping till they were about a year old. They were grumpy all the day and waking up many times per night. A week at Disney all in 1 room exhausted with a young child that is keeping the entire family from sleeping seems like it could be rough. On the other hand it could be a spectacular time in which you explore the park at a different pace, see things again a new through a young child's eyes and make memories that you cherish for a lifetime.

Anybody have any experience with Enterprise or Hertz car renting? Thoughts?

TL
I've rented with Enterprise several times locally and at a few airports... I don't have any comments of note... nothing exceptionally positive, but I've never had any problems with them.:confused3

Any particular concerns?

So don't go off teleprompter? :confused3

"What they will say is, well it will cost too much money. It would cost about, it-it-it would cost about the same as what we would spend...it...o-over the course of ten years it would cost what it cost us...it-it. Alright, okay, we're going to. It-it would cost us about the same as it would cost us for about...hold on one second..." - Senator Obama (Bristol, Va...June 5, 2008)

Yeah...pretty much. :thumbsup2 :lmao::lmao:

Since I'm paying for our dinners out of pocket next trip, i was wondering if anybody knew if any of the following places take Disney Gift Cards

These are on the DP
Teppen Edo
T-Rex Cafe

Not on DP
House of Blues
Shualas

I would think if they are on the DP the should, but T-Rex is throwing me off here:confused3

We've been using enterprise when we've been coming home. The branches we've dealt with we're helpful. We haven't tried any other companies, though...

TL...

I can speak only of Enterprise car rentals on a local level...our Enterprise is locaed across from a "motor-mile" string of Car dealerships...so from there I have gotten "smoke-free" cars that reek of smoke...usually dirty...and they don't always have the vehicle type you requested when you reserved it weeks ago...

SO...I prefer National.

So far the one I went to was basics, the class on how to do pics was on my late night at work so I missed it, I have to see when the next pic class is, and make sure my wife goes even if I can't:confused3

I have a bit of recent experience on this, so I will give my 2 cents;

We just came back from 5 days at WDW with my DD who turned 4 yesterday, and DS who is 4 months old. I had your same concerns, but was really pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. DS slept pretty much both flights and DD watched a movie, so the flights went as great as we could have hoped (we had a bottle to feed DS during take off to help with his ears popping). We flew JetBlue and they were great about getting us on before the other passengers and making sure we were all set. We brought the double stroller right up to the plane and gate checked it. It was waiting for us when we got off.

Getting around WDW was a little bit tricky, but not too bad. The ony real challenge was getting both kids on the buses while I folded up the stroller and dragged that on. All the bus drivers were helpful though. If I had to do it over, I'd probably stay at BLT or a monorail resort rather than AKV because of the amount of busses we had to take. Walking or taking the monorail would have made this much easier.

Being in the parks with them was a blast. DS just hung around in the stroller or on my chest in a baby carry thing and looked around the whole time. DD loved the attention she got by having either me or DW go on rides with her alone. DW was breast-feeding at the time, and raved about the baby care centers at each of the parks. I guess they're nice... :confused3

All in all, if you can swing it, I'd say go for it. We had a terrific vacation. :thumbsup2

Just because they are contracted to be on the Dining Plan does not mean that they accept Disney Gift Cards. Those are two very different aspects of the Disney company.

T-Rex accepts Landry's Restaurants Gift Cards - same parent company as Rainforest Cafe, Chart House and numerous others including Claim Jumper, Bubba Gump, Golden Nugget, McCormick & Schmicks, Landry's Seafood, etc.

Expect to pay cash or use a CC for those restaurants.

Or order a GC from their website
