I don't know. I've never really given it much thought before myself. I've always trusted that they people in those high trust, high dependence roles will keep their passengers safe to the best of their ability. This bad apple didn't do that. At all. There's always one that spoils the bunch, isn't there?

But even so, out of the nearly 100M passengers who've safely traveled by sea over the past 25 years - ocean vessels remain a very safe form of transport, despite idiots like this one.

I think I heard before this tragedy there was something like 14 deaths over the last 20 years. But then I found a site that lists many more deaths.. :confused3

I'm not even sure if this site is legit. :confused3

You need to see some more MJ pics?
Nah because of your posts earlier this week/last week I had MJ on the brain.

Oh yes, yes I have. I have a few choice words I would use (not here) to describe him. Yes, I did hear the tapes, and it was repulsive. I've read 12 years in prison - I would say that is nowhere near appropriate.

Tim's link prompted me to go read the transcripts. I think the 12 year sentence which is showing up in some of the articles is the maximum sentence for abandoning ship, he's also charged with manslaughter and shipwreck.( I didn't realize shipwrecking was a crime)

Love Storage Wars here. Have you noticed that Brandi has ...ummm... grown up since the first season? :confused3
Maybe she's eating more

Reading through that site it seems like a lot of these deaths are the results of foul play or severe intoxication. In reading through the summaries this was stood out the most.

Steven Paul Hirschfield - 37, jumped overboard from a gay pride cruise in San Diego, while suffering from hallucinations later determined to be caused by Ketamine. He was shot and killed by police during his rescue.

Worst rescue ever.

"Get back on your boat." "Can't I am doing my hair and talking to mom." Harry Smith (I think) called him the anti-Sully (the guy that landed his plane on the Hudson). So true. What a coward.

And yet, here you are.

Because it hadn't been finalized. It has been now. My workshop is from January 30th-February 1st. I have a few more days. And right now, I'm trying to figure out what I need to do for taxes over here.

Good morning guys :cool1:

I hope everyone is doing well :thumbsup2

As for TP as long as it gets replaced I really could care less how it gets installed. With 6 year olds in the house it's like Russian Roulette with TP when you really have to go :lmao:

Those rescuers must have been trained by Fed.

Good Morning Guys.

You guys blew through several pages today while I was at work and I missed a lot of meaningful discussions...

for the record...

TP goes over the roll and is Folded when used

Mary Ann is the only choice as well as Betty:rotfl2:

From page 72:

Well say Steve, well said! :worship:

Stopher- I'm sure you've been following this Italy cruise tragedy. Seems like the captain is a showoff and a coward. Did you hear the audio tapes between him and the coast guard? Sickening.

His actions and attitude are unfathomable among the ship Captains I know and work with. Needless to say, the entire Officer Corps (Civil and Military) is flabbergasted by his actions, or inactions as the case may be. I can only imagine what the Italian Coast Guard Commander was thinking. I'm pretty sure if he could have reached through that phone, he would've been banging Schettino's head off the gunwale of his own lifeboat.:mad:

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup..........:lmao::lmao:

If by trained by Fed you mean able to accurately place shots on someone swinging a fire ax at them, then yeah, trained by Fed:lmao::lmao:

Well, I've spent since 0630 this morning preparing for Death Review Panels here....including review of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Detainee deaths. For some reason, my care meter fails to register on those guys.:confused3

G-man was up sick all night. Momma staying home with him today as it's going to be a relatively long rest of the week for Mikey.:surfweb:

Good Morning Gentlemen

Good Morning to the rest of the DDC. Tp is scarce here, there are still leaves on the ground so we just do a weekly round up in the yard and put them in a nice wicker basket by the toilet.:thumbsup2

Good Morning Carl, Do you use the top or bottom of the leaves? Oh yea, thanks for rooting for my team last week, it seems to have worked. Will you do it again this week? ( I did get the last thread shut down for you last week.)

Morning fellows.

This morning I faced a dilemma. Due to our one car situation, I had to get up at 6am to take DW to work for 6:30. My alarm is usually set for 7. Got her to work and got back home at 6:38. There's where the dilemma arose, do I stay up and be tired all day, or do I go back to bed for 20 minutes, sleep for maybe 5 of them, and still be tired all day?

I opted for bed. I fell asleep just as my alarm was going off.

It's going to be a looooong day.

Pretty much, yes.

There has been the seasonal "Country Bear Christmas Special", and the "Country Bear Vacation Hoedown" which began in 1986 at both WDW and Disneyland replacing the original show. That iteration was immensely popular at Disneyland, but very ill-received at WDW. The Vacation Hoedown show only lasted a short while at WDW and was quickly replaced by the original version once again, only changed out seasonally for the Christmas version - whereas the Vacation Hoedown played at Disneyland from 1986 until the Country Bear Playhouse closed permanently in 2001 (and was replaced by "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" in 2004).
Question: I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but didn't they try to remove "Blood on the Saddle" a few years back and then bring it back after some backlash?

Really? Are you doubting the legitimacy of information you found on the internet??? :confused3 :lmao:

Thanks, but I'll take my chances with Jaws.

Hey everything on the internet is true... I know because I read it on the internet somewhere.

In all fairness was really biased in the way they wrote that article summary. When I read the actually story it turns out the rescued them and the he attacked his rescuers, he beat on in the face with a Tazer (again..You're doing it wrong) and tried to wrestle a gun from the other before he was shot.
