DIS Dads DDC XV - We put the "FUN" in dysfunctional! Christopher's thread...

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Hey everything on the internet is true... I know because I read it on the internet somewhere.

In all fairness was really biased in the way they wrote that article summary. When I read the actually story it turns out the rescued them and the he attacked his rescuers, he beat on in the face with a Tazer (again..You're doing it wrong) and tried to wrestle a gun from the other before he was shot.

Maybe when I heard that original stat it was 14 ppl killed on cruise ships related to the actual ship itself.. ie. fire, pilot error, rouge wave, etc. Not suicide or getting shot by police! :lmao:

Last time I went to The Hall of Presidents Reagan was the newest, I guess I should check it out again, if nothing else it would be a little nap:lmao:

We went last year to escape park capacity. The AC is nice.

Love Storage Wars here. Have you noticed that Brandi has ...ummm... grown up since the first season? :confused3

Nothing wrong with that. I'd like to get a closer view or personal inspection though before making that determination.

Good morning guys :cool1:

I hope everyone is doing well :thumbsup2

As for TP as long as it gets replaced I really could care less how it gets installed. With 6 year olds in the house it's like Russian Roulette with TP when you really have to go :lmao:

:lmao:

Good Morning Gentlemen

Good Morning to the rest of the DDC. Tp is scarce here, there are still leaves on the ground so we just do a weekly round up in the yard and put them in a nice wicker basket by the toilet.:thumbsup2

Why not both sides?

Morning fellows.

This morning I faced a dilemma. Due to our one car situation, I had to get up at 6am to take DW to work for 6:30. My alarm is usually set for 7. Got her to work and got back home at 6:38. There's where the dilemma arose, do I stay up and be tired all day, or do I go back to bed for 20 minutes, sleep for maybe 5 of them, and still be tired all day?

I opted for bed. I fell asleep just as my alarm was going off.

It's going to be a looooong day.

Coffee. Where's the coffee!

Wow - slow DIS again today.

I saw this image while surfing through some DISigners images....

SmallWorldBlank.jpg

Thought it was appropriate.

Anyone else have any T-shirt Ideas?

Last year we did Mickey Heads with our names and a character, and then a big picture of all of our party's mickey heads for the back of our shirts.

Anyone have a favorite DISigner?

Hope all is well. I've been MIA for a few days. I blame both Skyrim and The Hunger Games.

I come to you all with questions. I know this has been discussed, well, everywhere, but I'll open the can of worms. DW is due in May. She has the WDW bug really bad, and is bugging me to put a date on the calendar when we'll be going back. She's thinking October, which will put new D(x) at 5mo. As much as I really, really want to plan this trip, I feel as if this will beway too soon. Traveling with a 5mo to the mall is difficult enough let alone a week at WDW, not to mention first time flying for both D(x)5mo and DD5 at time of travel.

I'm really stuck on this one. Do we force a trip in Oct. because we both want to go, or do we buck up and hold out until Summer 2013 when D(x) will be 1yo, or in wife speak, 14mo?

Any comments and experiences with both 5mo and 14-16mo babies at WDW welcomed, along with unrelated banter to up one's post count.

Help me DisDads. Yinz are my only hope.

Cheers,
Indy

I can't speak to going to the world with an infant - but I will say that we took our DD on her first plane trip from Indy to CA when she was 6 weeks old. And we went to both Disneyland and California Adventure while there. And we had a great time.

It's tricky, but it can be done, and done well.

Looking through them all, it looks like there are a lot of murders. It may come as a shock to you, but getting drunk and hooking up with a random stranger on a boat isn't the best idea. Especially if you've spent the night bragging about how much money you have in your cabin. It also seems that it's best to stay away from the side of the boat if you've had way too much to drink. Do not try and sit on the railing and do not lean way over the side of the boat to puke.

All sound advice. :thumbsup2 Just don't do it, or as Nancy Reagan used to say, just say no.

we took dd to wdw at 6 months, it was easy and fun. When they are that young they sleep in their stroller.

Well isn't that funny. I just got a warning for political infractions for suggesting how upset i would be if my trip to MK tomorrow was messed up due to the campaign stop by the president. Touchy folks around here.

Personally i woulnd't do it but i have a very low tolerance for that sort of thing. You see children that young all the time in the parks. Just be prepared for taking extra time to go slow. This past october we had a family member that was 8 months pregnant with a 3 and 6 yo in tow. That was interesting.

BE CAREFUL away from the DDC... it gets nasty out there! :sad2:

I would just avoid the MK tomorrow, visit the other parks probably they will be less crowded, with people wanting to try and see the Pres:confused3

Of course, the fact that i referred to it as a 'taxpayer funded campaign stop' might have upset the partisans.

Hey! Long time no see. :thumbsup2

My DS in 5months old right now. He is very mellow and carefree. I could see spending a week with him in WDW but with a different touring schedule than we normally do. I think if you go at a slower pace and take breaks it is doable. With that being said, my DW said when she was pregnant there was no way we are doing Disney with a newborn.(we normally go in March) We are flying to Florida to spend time with DWs grandfather over Easter. I'll let you know how that goes.
