Since I'm paying for our dinners out of pocket next trip, i was wondering if anybody knew if any of the following places take Disney Gift Cards

These are on the DP
Teppen Edo
T-Rex Cafe

Not on DP
House of Blues
Shualas

I would think if they are on the DP the should, but T-Rex is throwing me off here:confused3
House of Blues was added to the Dining Plan at the same time that T-Rex was, but it got a slight name change - it's now called Crossroads at the House of Blues (it got a new "Crossroads" menu, created by celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez). I don't think you can use Disney gift cards at any of those restaurants. Your best chance would be Teppen Edo. The others are definitely owned by 3rd parties, so they almost certainly won't take Disney Gift Cards. BUT, House of Blues does still honor the gift certificates that they sell/sold at Restaurant.com ($25 off), usually at a substantial discount. If you need/want one, let me know. I'll check and see if I still have a "spare" in my stash of unused cheap restaurant.com gift certificates.

Just because they are contracted to be on the Dining Plan does not mean that they accept Disney Gift Cards. Those are two very different aspects of the Disney company.

T-Rex accepts Landry's Restaurants Gift Cards - same parent company as Rainforest Cafe, Chart House and numerous others including Claim Jumper, Bubba Gump, Golden Nugget, McCormick & Schmicks, Landry's Seafood, etc.

Expect to pay cash or use a CC for those restaurants.

Or order a GC from their website

Thanks Stopher, that's what I thought, I just wanted to get a 2nd opinion:thumbsup2, Don't want to bring to many extra Dis GC's that would just give my wife a reason to spend them:eek:

This last year I was only off by $1,136,000. :thumbsup2

 At first I didn't see the last three zeros and thought "wow... he's pretty good"... :lmao:

The DW does all the reservations for our trips. I just book flights and rental car. She makes up folders with all the confirmation numbers, prints out a small schedule with all the days and C# for meals so we can each carry one. Very very organized. Now if i could just get her to stop using the whole house as a @&#**$(($ clothes closet, i'd be a happy fella.

:lmao::lmao: DW already "claims" two separate closets... in two different rooms!

Galactic President Superstar McAwesomeville? It always bothers me when i see someone with such low self esteem....:rolleyes1

Time to fire up the Catch-Up-Inator:

So I spent my afternoon at home while the litttle guy was snoozing revamping some of our training.

I attached this video to a slide telling my guys this is what I **DON'T** want to see at our next training iteration...

I have a couple of guys like this...

But you'll allow the Zombie Hunter patch, right?

we have stayed at the contemp. twice the last two years and we love it but man, the $ for a room over there is getting to much. :sad2: the poly. was a place tammy always wanted to stay at so, the poly it is. maybe in a few years we will spend a few nights at the grand just to say we were there. it really dont light our fire but it would be the only we havnt stayed at yet.

I like the Poly the best of the monorail resorts. I know you will have a wonderful time.

:lmao: I read an article about the Walton kids, who inherited Wal-mart from dad, outsourced made in America concept, grew their own wealth to over $100 billion, yet we taxpayers subsidize their low pay as their employees are eligible for food stamps. Even if they didn't work to earn it, it's one thing to be wealthy, it's another to stick it to your employees, your customers, and general public with no regard to anything but profit.

The tough thing is that economics works on businesses maximizing profits. It takes a real singular force of will to steer your company in a direction that will not do that, but instead will give out some other benefit, like better working conditions for the workers, better health insurance, etc. It gets worse if you're a public company, because you answer to shareholders.

I guess expecting a business to NOT maximize profits is a losing proposition, but when you see a business that does it against expectations, it is a good thing.

You know...if he's trying to earn votes, that would be a good place to start. Forget the economy and foreign policy...just give me a working yeti.

This last year I was only off by $1,136,000. :thumbsup2

What do you work for our government or something???? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

For the federal government, that number is a lot less than the rounding error.

As for disruptions caused by political figures coming to town, demonstrations, etc.: A friend of mine, back when we were both living in DC, proposed a plan to build a replica of downtown DC out in an unpopulated area, and have all big speeches, demonstrations, parades, etc. happen there. The pictures would look like it happened in the Nation's Capital, but it wouldn't have caused all the mess in DC. Win-win.

:lmao::lmao: DW already "claims" two separate closets... in two different rooms!

Try this on for size, full closet in one room, pretty much the whole of the half bath that's off hte master bedroom, a fair chunk of the master bedroom itself, the laundry room and the furnace room.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Looks like a change in your ADR's are in order!!:rotfl2:

Sooo...she's an expert now...which means you could let her do some of the "work" now...and sit back...relax.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Actually saw they were released on Monday... already got the spreadsheet going.... :surfweb: Thanks for looking out for me! Looks like our soft date is 7/2-7/3. Figured the holiday crowd might be a little lighter BEFORE the 4th than after.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: Uh oh... wait til she figures out she can reserve spa treatment, too!

Oh yeah... we used Alamo in December... got a free 2 car upgrade and was able to walk up, pick the car we wanted, and drive away hassle-free. Return was even faster... they scanned the barcode for the car, handed me a receipt and said "have a nice day."... and I DID.:thumbsup2
she already did that 3 years ago. i played 18 at osprey ridge and she went to the spa. :thumbsup2 good thing i bought more golf balls before teeing off, i only had 8 and that wouldnt of gotten me to the back nine. :lmao:
Did Fed happen to speak with her in private at any point when you met him? Just wondering. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Sun is shining and all of the rumors as to who willbe the next coach of the Colts are swirling :confused3

. Now if i could just get her to stop using the whole house as a @&#**$(($ clothes closet, i'd be a happy fella.

She would just start buying something else. Have her model her clothes for you. If you say it right, ....

Wow - slow DIS again today.

I saw this image while surfing through some DISigners images....

SmallWorldBlank.jpg

Thought it was appropriate.

Anyone else have any T-shirt Ideas?

Last year we did Mickey Heads with our names and a character, and then a big picture of all of our party's mickey heads for the back of our shirts.

Anyone have a favorite DISigner?

Morning DisDads :surfweb:

Hope all is well. I've been MIA for a few days. I blame both Skyrim and The Hunger Games.

I come to you all with questions. I know this has been discussed, well, everywhere, but I'll open the can of worms. DW is due in May. She has the WDW bug really bad, and is bugging me to put a date on the calendar when we'll be going back. She's thinking October, which will put new D(x) at 5mo. As much as I really, really want to plan this trip, I feel as if this will beway too soon. Traveling with a 5mo to the mall is difficult enough let alone a week at WDW, not to mention first time flying for both D(x)5mo and DD5 at time of travel.

I'm really stuck on this one. Do we force a trip in Oct. because we both want to go, or do we buck up and hold out until Summer 2013 when D(x) will be 1yo, or in wife speak, 14mo?

Any comments and experiences with both 5mo and 14-16mo babies at WDW welcomed, along with unrelated banter to up one's post count.

Help me DisDads. Yinz are my only hope.

Cheers,
Indy

My youngest was 15 months and she did well. She was a little scared of the costumed characters the first day, but hugged on the princesses the second day. Never been with a younger one.

It may come as a shock to you, but getting drunk and hooking up with a random stranger on a boat isn't the best idea.

It's not. Oh, you said boat, not bar. Thanks for clarifying.

Of course, the fact that i referred to it as a 'taxpayer funded campaign stop' might have upset the partisans.

Yikes. You'll get creamed out there for saying that. I don't like any of them.

Alas, I'm not sure if even a quadruple expresso vente latte chased with a Red Bull will get me going this morning.

I believe Patrick mentioned in a previous thread that, although he enjoys the smell of coffee, he cannot stand the taste.

Oh, and, good evening all!

I forgot about not liking coffee. I must not have had enough of coffee this AM to remember that. But not monster burger and coke I had for lunch today was killer.

Thanks for the replies on the Rental Car agencies guys. We have to go visit the inlaws next weekend, and our "Good van" died the final death on us at the beginning of the year, and there's now way we'd make it in my van, so were looking at rentals. I'm focusing on Enterprize and Hertz because they seem like the most reasonably priced. The first agency I looked at wanted $350+ dollars for 3 days! I could use that on a down payment for a new car, not waste it on a rental!

:laundy: Sheesh. I'm gonna go hug my DW now..... :lmao:

Current TP Roll Poll at work is...

A=21

B=2

So far only 3 Female participants...all 3 voted A.

Well isn't that funny. I just got a warning for political infractions for suggesting how upset i would be if my trip to MK tomorrow was messed up due to the campaign stop by the president. Touchy folks around here.

Say it ain't so Sam...:confused3:lmao:

I don't have a problem with a company wanting to maximize profits, and I'm glad when the companies, in my different mutual funds achieve that, however the ends can not justify not the means. In an extreme example, companies could maximize profits by abducting their workforce from another country and not paying them to work. We tried that model and while economically advantageous, slavery was outlawed for its social implications.

Now, while Walmart is not near that level, I do not believe that tax payers should have to subsidize billion $ coorporations. But, we do it for oil, banks, housing, and just about every other corporation, so why stop there.
