Being a Dad is hard work. My wife found the watch she has been looking for under my son's mattress along with the key finder she doesn't use anymore.

When asked all he could say was he liked it and wanted it. Maybe he has a career in politics. Ugh.

I removed his bedroom door and he has lost his favorite stuffed animals for the remainder of the summer. Hopefully that was enough of a shook to wake him up that illegal, immoral, unethical behavior will not be tolerated.

I'll miss them when they head out for the summer but after this latest incident I am looking for a little time to myself.

There are a lot of great moments in parenting... this isn't one of them.

I give you credit for how you handled the situation. Hopefully this punishment will teach him his lesson.

I've found 2 or 3 things that I need to take it back and have adjusted. The hood and the fender are just a little bit out of line, but for the most part it looks good. Once the new suspension parts went on, the alignment was fine and I got it up to about 85 on the way home to make sure there wasn't a lot of wind noise coming in the door. Happy to have it back.

You know, just 3 more mph and you could have made it so the accident had never happened.

Nah, I didn't see a Mr Fusion installed on that anywhere. No flux capacitor, either.

On a related note - those movies are on the list of "We can't watch them until I catch the kids using 4-letter words. . . and once we have the talk about when and where those words are appropriate, we can watch all these movies that they have not yet been allowed to watch."

Don't get me started on the bus &the other kids. When I was young (man, does that make me feel old) - if we wanted music on the bus, we had to bring a walkman. Now, the bus driver is playing the radio all the time, and DS sometimes asks what certain "Top 40" lyrics mean.

Same here. A song came on during America's Got Talent and DD started singing along. My DW turned and looked at her and asked where the heck she learned that from... "The school bus, Mom."
It's mind boggling what our kids are exposed to anymore.

Been a busy couple of days. Yesterday I got up and rode 4 1/2 hours to Virginia Beach to attend a couple of meetings and have Dinner with a customer then 4 1/2 hours back home. Unfortunately, there was no time to get a meet up with Don or Matt. Next time.

This morning, I had to take DD16 and DD14 to school since DD16 can't get a parking space this late in the year. Then it was across town for more meetings, lunch, and back to the High School to pick up DD16 so that she can get to dress rehearsal for dance.

I'll have to leave work early to go pick up DD5 from dress rehearsal so that DW can stay to take pictures of the other two. Pictures are not allowed on rehearsal night.

Yes, but that's because we live in a pretty small town. I prefer to think of myself as doing laps, trying to build up escape velocity.

One of my DD's popped the lock on a closed bedroom door once. I told her if she ever did anything like that again, I would remove her bedroom door. It's amazing how much that bit of privacy means to a teenage girl.

Hate to hear that, but you have to do the parent thing. I have not taken door off hinges, but they have lost stuff. I have filled a trash bag full of their stuff, but I returned it in a few days instead of throwing it away.

You beat me to the flux capacitor. As for language, my children have heard them from me unfortunately, but they know not to use them. Just one of my many shortcomings. I don't have a furnace to cuss at, but I can find a few things from time to time.

All the time. Drive to school, pick up after school band. Drive to dance and drive home from dance - repeat 4 times a week. Then there aree soccer games Sat and Sunday. But, as long as they enjoy it and it is something that helps them develop as a person, then I guess it's worth it.

Just hived a bee swarm! Will pick them up at dark and give it a week to see if they take. Free bees are great.

That sounds like so much fun. I know it was work because my grandfather raised bees, but that honey was so good.

All my money is going to pampers. The "returns" are not very appealing though.

There are times that I enjoy it. Mostly when I am working with the bees and the plants. Not so much the budgets, politics, and people. When it gets too bad though I just remind myself I could have been a proctologist.

Yeah, that sounds like my job, the boring, budget, politics stuff - not the proctologist stuff. I encourage my children to do something the like. I wish I had enough gumption to do it now myself.

The Pirate Princess's Prom is tomorrow. She got the dress back from alterations. Tonight, manicure/pedicure, tomorrow out of school early to get her hair done. This prom stuff is ridiculous.

Good news is the kid that dared asked my Princess to this shindig was told by DD that he needs to go out with us for dinner the day after graduation. Better news is her Aunt will be with us. Pity the kid. He will be getting a full dose of Auntie. Plus, the ladies want to go to tea. Plan to just sit back and chuckle. This is going to be fun. Revenge is mine.
