I tell you they really make things like garbage these days I had to replace the plug on the dryer, ok no big deal right, wrong one of the screw holes in the plastic bar where everything bolts up to stripped out, so I could not get one of the 3 contacts tight, so I had to take the next part off to replace

I'm no stranger around tools or fixing things, but I have noticed in the last few years, that most things are made to break somehow and when you fix it most likely something else will break in the process, if they can't get you to buy a new one they are going to make you buy some extra parts

Oh I will win, but it always has to be extra work involved, here's a prime example on my classic Mustangs I could change the spark plugs in about 15mins no prob, my wifes mini van with 2 less plugs, it would take most of the day and loosen and jack the engine to get them all changed plus you bust your knuckles getting to them, they almost make it where you have no choice but to take it to a dealer to do and charge you $1000 for something that 20 years ago would have been $49.99

Just got home from work and still on call until Thursday morning. Uuuugh! BUT!!!!! There is a silver lining to this dark cloud!!! Walked in the door and got a call form our travel agent and we received an upgrade on our upcoming cruise to a verandah cabin!!!! 38 days and counting!!!

When I was in High School I also did Trade School and continued after HS for a couple years, I ended up getting 3 degrees in advanced auto body & 1 in performance engine building, I have all the tools and even a full lift in the garage, I learned on Muscle Cars, I used to be able to build one around a lug nut, On todays cars I can barely change the oil

But unless they have been around awhile I've noticed a reverse effect a lot of the mechanic's that work on the new stuff are lost when it comes to the older simple ways

Just got news that my uncle (95 years old) passed away tonight.

He's been in and out of hospitals for a few years now.

He had a heart attack last night, and another tonight - and then his battle was up.

He lived a long life, and will be missed.

- not but had a 17mo drooling, snot dripping, leprechaun and a gold spending DW .

I learned on the farm, in the shop, and my own hot rods as well (some, yeah, POS's). Moved on from those days but miss my '70 Monte Carlo somedays....maybe someday again get a hot rod again. My brother stuck with it and now has his own performance/machine shop; builds race nice engines.

Eric, we really enjoy a place called Villa Romana. It's Italian and family run. Extremely good food. Go early so you can get a table.

Steve swears by a place called Ella's Calabash. It's in Calabash, NC....a short drive away.

homemade?? I thought you were eating in Canada???

Non eventful day. I was able to get in 20 minutes of exercise, slightly altering some exercises and replacing them with of my back exercises from PT. It was a little stiff after dinner, so I hope I didn't overdo it. Then, the skies opened up and it rained hard. Done to a slight drizzle now. Good news with the rain- it washed my car today.

Congrats on getting back into exercise and getting your car washed for free!

Today kinda sucked, had to drive my son on a 5hr round trip to the dentist to get a infected tooth pulled, then I went to the Dr since my ear was bothering me, found out that I have a ear infection, we did however talk about steak houses since I'm one of the few patients that he doesn't have to tell that they should stay away from them, he has been to Schula's and said it was good, even had what I'm going to order

Thanks I think we will both live, son got the laughing gas, cost a extra $50 but well worth it on the way home he said did we go to the dentist or did I dream it, I was willing to pay another $50 for some for myself

My ear only hurts if pressure is put on it like blowing nose or burping, luckily I caught it early and with the meds should be gone in a day or two

And here I thought going onto the night shift would be good this week.

Every little thing that could go wrong...did. Boss took some of my staff for the day shif, and "forgot" to call in the replacement he penciled in. A customer fell in the store, had to take care of that.

The topper was though, one of the staff we've had issues with, even to the point we came up with a plan to deal with him when it came up, completely blindsided me, by having a customer (we know they are friends) completely take me to task how we overwork him. I was speechless. Humiliated.

This guy does nothing but ONE job in the store, then complains he has to do it. Then has a customer tear a strip out of me, and plans to take it further up.

I can deal with co-workers, no probs, but I CANNOT WIN AGAINST CUSTOMERS. No way, I am getting railroaded.

Pretty much sat in the office the rest of the night. I Sent emails to the boss (not there the rest of the week) and the "bigger boss" explaning myself. I am done though. I have no spirit left to fight this beverly.

Sorry guys, I needed to rant here (I've ranted alot lately, I know).

Some prayers today guys. Youngest dd has dermatologist appointment and has a cist in arm. I thought today was a consult, but DW thinks they will cut it out. I told dd they were just going to look at her arm to make her less nervous. I better give her the news.

We are home. They gave her an injection in the cyst. It should reduce the size, which will reduce the pain. She has a follow up in a week. The next option would be surgery to remove. I hope the injection works.

When they gave it to her, she squeezed my hand and i could tell she was in pain. She did really well. The nurse has a child 1 year younger, at same school (only 1st grade) & who plays in same soccer league. I was ready to send my angel back to school, but she starting playing up the pain and ended up getting to stay home. She snowed them good. So, i got to stay home the rest of the day and went to Japanese Hibachi for lunch.

Got back from WDW last night. We had a blast. Noah and I placed 13th out of 180 mens teams in the everest challenge. The late night party was great, He's already talking about doing it again next year. We stayed at Dolphin and at AKL this trip. We were really impressed with both resorts.

I think I need to start doing research so that I can properly prepare a trip report for our visit coming up in July. I didn't know about you guys on any of my previous trips so this is uncharted territory for me.

Where did you take them after the movie ended? I just couldn't resist.

A couple of suggestions. One, lie if it enhances the story. Like today when a Zebra broke into the lobby and was headed to a small child and I had to wrestle it to the ground. Two, do not include math and physics questions in the report.

Three, read it over again slowly before you post it. Otherwise, some people may misunderstand you and think you were wrestling the child to the ground instead of the zebra.

Seriously though, I think TRs should include all the trivial details that you wouldn't think people would want to know. Throw them all in there!! Like how you spent the downhill portion of Spaceship Earth trying to remember where the car was parked.

So, I've been without a voice for about 4 days now. I got sent home from work yesterday when the CEO overheard me talking to my boss, and told me to get out. Can't argue with the CEO, right?

I have found that parenting is a bit harder if you aren't able to speak above a whisper. On the healthy side, I have had to walk more stairs to address my daughters instead of just yelling for them to get to where they need to go. On the bad side, I have occasionally had to knock on walls to get the girls' attention when they've been arguing with raised voices.

Hopefully back to work with a semi-functioning voice tomorrow. And conducting a lot of business via email.

Strawberries all picked and plants pulled up. Time to start weighing berries but I just am doing total weight today and not individual berries.

I can see how not having to weigh them indivually would be better. Save that approach for the blueberries.

Still a lot of berries. I grow them in a pot on my patio table and in a hanging basket...except I forgot to bring them in over the winter

We have several berry farms close by and go picking every year. It is nice to have the apple orchards, berry farms, farmers markets, Christmas tree farms, pumpkin patches all just a few miles away.

We like to go out to the pick your owns near us. Just typing that has me craving some fresh corn on the cob... at almost 1am!!

I'm hoping DS becomes the primary lawn mower this summer. He, DD and SWMBO are heading up to the "vacation home" (AKA the house we couldn't sell when we moved) soon and it will be good for him. DW doesn't think he is old enough but I was running riding lawn mowers by his age.

I like mowing the lawn. I wish I had time to actually do it!! I like to vacuum carpets too. I guess I am weird like that.

That's cool. I rarely go to doc as well- annual check up and labs but no routine Meds. I've heard of some home remedies (vodka soaked fried onion to remove skin infection) but I am a big believer of letting the body just heal itself. I do take some vitamins and other than my weight (and herniated disc), I'm in good health.

I avoid taking pain meds unless it's absolutely necessary for me to function. I don't go to the doctor all that much because I am just stubborn.

Evening (Morning?) All... just popping on before I crash for the night. Tonight was okay, I stayed away from almost everyone, so it was peacefull. Boss called me from his seminar in Barrie, about something unrelated, but we discussed the issue, thought I handled it fine, we'll figure it all out next week, and try to avoid the guy (Easy when you run the shift, right? ). He doesn;t want me killing the guy apparently

Tonight got theraputic in a way, I had to re-configure products in the cooler fridges tonight prepping for an influx of new items, real thinking-type job, got wrapped up in it, and when I use my brain like that, I relax


Also heard who we will get for our new assistant manager, I've worked with her in the past a couple of times, including when I first started with the board, she and I get along fine, just not sure about how she'll pull her weight, but will love to see some others get panties in a knot over it.

So at this point in the process, would a visit be considered a good thing or a bad thing?

Sometimes it's nice to know head office is paying attention, especially since our boss is away this week. Sometimes though, I think he tries to avoid me It seems like everytime he stops by, I'm wound tighter then a drum
