all caught up and everyone's asleep. There are many things I need to do, but just too darn tired. It's been this way for a while. Up at 7:30 and just non-stop until midnight.

not much else to report. deadline for cruise payment approaching and also need to pay mortgage... decisions, decisions.

good night all!

By the time I finished catching up, I am wiped. Goodnight!

Very sorry to hear this Brian!! We will be praying for your family!!!

Thanks Steve...I know you will, and it means alot.

Sorry to hear Brian.

Thank You

I am very sorry for your loss.

Thanks...

sorry for your loss, Brian. We can't stay here forever, and 95 is pretty darn close to the best anyone can do.

Thanks, and yes he did live a long happy life.
His wife (my aunt) passed away about 5 years ago. After more than 60 years of marriage. They were a very sweet couple who'd do anything for you. He was never the same after she left.

Sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Thank you Brent. And adorable pic of the girls in Niagara Falls. :thumbsup2

Hope the injection works!! Nice play to get out of school AND get hibachi out of the deal!!
!

Thanks.

Seriously though, I think TRs should include all the trivial details that you wouldn't think people would want to know. Throw them all in there!! Like how you spent the downhill portion of Spaceship Earth trying to remember where the car was parked..

Not too many details. There are certain things I don't want to know.

Evening (Morning?) All... just popping on before I crash for the night. Tonight was okay, I stayed away from almost everyone, so it was peacefull. Boss called me from his seminar in Barrie, about something unrelated, but we discussed the issue, thought I handled it fine, we'll figure it all out next week, and try to avoid the guy (Easy when you run the shift, right? :rotfl2:). He doesn;t want me killing the guy apparently :rolleyes2: .

Glad things were better.

Nice picture.

I tell you they really make things like garbage these days:confused3 I had to replace the plug on the dryer, ok no big deal right, wrong one of the screw holes in the plastic bar where everything bolts up to stripped out, so I could not get one of the 3 contacts tight:scared1:, so I had to take the next part off to replace:eek:

I'm no stranger around tools or fixing things, but I have noticed in the last few years, that most things are made to break somehow and when you fix it most likely something else will break in the process, if they can't get you to buy a new one they are going to make you buy some extra parts:rolleyes1

That's because someone found it more profitable to build up the economies of other countries at the expense and quality of American manufacturing.

Nice picture.

Just got home from work and still on call until Thursday morning. Uuuugh! BUT!!!!! There is a silver lining to this dark cloud!!! Walked in the door and got a call form our travel agent and we received an upgrade on our upcoming cruise to a verandah cabin!!!! :cool1: 38 days and counting!!!

Excellent news. Is there room enough for me?

Just got news that my uncle (95 years old) passed away tonight.

He's been in and out of hospitals for a few years now.

He had a heart attack last night, and another tonight - and then his battle was up.

He lived a long life, and will be missed.

Sorry Brian. Prayers for your family.

- not but had a 17mo drooling, snot dripping, leprechaun and a gold spending DW :rolleyes1.

+1 My parents had to replace a part on a relatively new furnace. Their previous one last over 35 years. This one less than 3.

They're always after me Lucky Charms.

I have found that parenting is a bit harder if you aren't able to speak above a whisper. On the healthy side, I have had to walk more stairs to address my daughters instead of just yelling for them to get to where they need to go. On the bad side, I have occasionally had to knock on walls to get the girls' attention when they've been arguing with raised voices.
Auto parts stores sell hand held air horns. Compact, easy to use, and loud as all get out. Trust me, you'll get their attention with one of those.

Oh the Humanity! Did everyone get out in time and make it to your safe meeting place? How was the damage? Can you rebuild? I'm so sorry for your loss.

Now that is a truly awesome phone call. How's Ethan doing with his hearing? :confused3

Sorry for your loss, Brian. Sounds like he lived a full life.

So, I've been without a voice for about 4 days now. I got sent home from work yesterday when the CEO overheard me talking to my boss, and told me to get out. Can't argue with the CEO, right?

I have found that parenting is a bit harder if you aren't able to speak above a whisper. On the healthy side, I have had to walk more stairs to address my daughters instead of just yelling for them to get to where they need to go. On the bad side, I have occasionally had to knock on walls to get the girls' attention when they've been arguing with raised voices.

Hopefully back to work with a semi-functioning voice tomorrow. And conducting a lot of business via email.

Can you at least make your breathing sound like Darth Vader? That could still intimidate the kids.

Question for you guys:

Yes, of course it's about food. We're headed down to Myrtle Beach this summer, and I was looking for dining suggestions, especially things that might be a little off the beaten path/less crazy crowded/actually good. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Not exactly uncrowded or off the beatn path, but we like TBonz Steakhouse.

Yeah... had to google the Nicholas Sparks thing. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

If Mark had used those films for his movie quote competition TR, I think the results would have been very different. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I don't think I would have been able to read my own TR.

Ahem.... I'm not going to dignify that with a response. Well, I guess I jsut did. Oops.

I had to google Mr. Sparks as well. I still am not completely sure what he's done, but I figure it must not be that important as I saw no reference to beer, bacon or hockey. :rotfl2:

Or explosions. :confused3

In addition to my duties teaching math and physics, every other year I teach a Critical Viewing class where we watch movies and discuss the worldviews expressed in the film, trying to get our students to do more than just watch for entertainment, but to think about what it is that they are feeding their minds with. I routinely threaten the young men who are considering taking the course with a series of Nicholas Sparks films - The Notebook, Dear John, The Vow, A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle, etc.

*shudder* Do you actually want anyone to take the class? :confused3:rotfl:

Hi guys,
need someone to explain to my wife there is no DVC at the Grand Canyon. So, we can not vacation there. :rolleyes1

‘Morning all…
You get busy for a day and you miss much. So what else is new?

Let’s see here now… I’ll try to tackle this a couple of pages at a time.

We are home. They gave her an injection in the cyst. It should reduce the size, which will reduce the pain. She has a follow up in a week. The next option would be surgery to remove. I hope the injection works.

When they gave it to her, she squeezed my hand and i could tell she was in pain. She did really well. The nurse has a child 1 year younger, at same school (only 1st grade) & who plays in same soccer league. I was ready to send my angel back to school, but she starting playing up the pain and ended up getting to stay home. She snowed them good. So, i got to stay home the rest of the day and went to Japanese Hibachi for lunch.

Thanks again for the prayers.

Glad to hear that this turned out well. Hopefully this first procedure will be the last one and she won’t have to deal with it again. We all hate to see our kids hurting (even if it’s something that will ultimately be good for them in the long run).

There is no such thing as a bad pun. Just bad people who don't like puns.

Of course there such a thing as a bad pun…
That’s the point ain’t it?

Who wants to read a good pun?

I'm figuring I can start with a pre trip report to break the ice and establish myself as a writer to avoid or to watch, and then when the inevitable barbs come out I can cry like a baby.

Or you can just pull out you own daggers and have at everyone else’s TRs. But… I do believe I’d be leaving the “Nicholas Sparks'” references off (but then again, there is a lot of estrogen pervading these boards… you might pick up some additional readers with that method).

Either way, make sure to post a link back here. I’ll certainly read along.

A couple of suggestions. One, lie if it enhances the story. Like today when a Zebra broke into the lobby and was headed to a small child and I had to wrestle it to the ground. Two, do not include math and physics questions in the report.

This is what makes your TRs so entertaining. I like the zebra idea, but I don’t believe I’d have thought to add the bit about wrestling a child to the ground.

MB includes a lot of coastline. Where along the Grand Strand are you staying, and how far are you willing to drive to get said dining experience?

Hey DIS Dads...was a crazy day. Still not 100% on if DD has Hand-Foot-Mouth, but still has the red bumps on feet hands. To make it better, she is cutting several teeth as well. Slobbering on everything she gets her hands on as well. One of those days. Needless to say, I got a ton of sleep last night and got a ton of work done today. :headache:

Hope your girl starts getting better very soon.

wow!! im behind.

You too? So what else is new.

Even when folks have lived a long full life, their loss is still not easy to deal with.

:lmao:

You gott’a love the English Language. Were it not such a mess of slang and barrowed words, there’d be no puns (and that would be a bad thing).

Nice!

Glad it landed in the back yard…
those things have been known to kill people, or at least it could have put your eye out.

WIN!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
Congrats on the up grade.

Now if you don’t mind…
I’m just going to go over there and collapse in the corner and start sobbing with envy.
I’m expecting a full TR on this one you know.

Tonight got theraputic in a way, I had to re-configure products in the cooler fridges tonight prepping for an influx of new items, real thinking-type job, got wrapped up in it, and when I use my brain like that, I relax:thumbsup2

Also heard who we will get for our new assistant manager, I've worked with her in the past a couple of times, including when I first started with the board, she and I get along fine, just not sure about how she'll pull her weight, but will love to see some others get panties in a knot over it. :lmao:

Sometimes it's nice to know head office is paying attention, especially since our boss is away this week. Sometimes though, I think he tries to avoid me :rotfl2: It seems like everytime he stops by, I'm wound tighter then a drum

Glad tonight went better, Brent! Hang in there!

Very cute! did you go over in a barrel?? I've never been there, but from watching Woody Woodpecker, I totally expect to see everyone in raincoats yelling "hooray!" each time a barrel goes over the falls.

Not too many details. There are certain things I don't want to know.

like what? :confused3

Hi guys,
need someone to explain to my wife there is no DVC at the Grand Canyon. So, we can not vacation there. :rolleyes1

tell her you'll take her to Catastrophe Canyon instead! followed by Whispering Canyon Cafe... two canyons instead of one!!

Good Morning!

DD is at school and today she is staying there! :cool1: (until 2:15.) I don't know what to do with myself. Too bad it's raining, otherwise I'd do some yardwork.

DS and I are watching Toy Story. Okay, Toy Story is on, and DS is getting into everything and I'm listening to it while trying to do things on the computer.
