Tuesday working ownage.

So far so good. Grass cut. 2nd load of laundry. Dishwasher done. Had the dds sweep and vacuum. Need to mop the floor, vote, then time for Avengers.

I just had the opening song for Tangled running through my head while reading this... so when are you gonna brush your hair? :lmao:

Strange day here. I just got an e-mail saying we can't use the walking/jogging trails at work (which is how I usually get to my car) because a bear has been spotted outside. That's a new one.

They should just hand out tasers and say "good luck!" :lmao:

I thought Marlins had best record in May?
I don't know... they're 6-4 in their last 10.:confused3

Sounds like a prank. :rolleyes1

Um... yeah... I can't get to work today because there's a bear.

A big one.

With sharp claws and big teeth.

Yeah... that's it, a bear.

Yes they do. Unfortunately, every time I go they seem to lose.

I HAVE AC! Both units had breakers that shorted out because of the humidity. Thought it was going to be a $3,000 - $4,000 to change at least one of the units. Only $150 to get both working. Woo Hoo! May need to have a Keys vacation to celebrate.

Anyone else done the desert teris? Is it worth it? I have herd good things but have misgivings about having a roof over us and that we won't be able to properly see wishes.

we did the dessert party at MK on our spring 2010 trip. We had no problem viewing the fireworks. yes, people lined up at the railing, but there was enough room for all of us to be at the railing.

Perhaps our experience was different because the dessert party was relatively new then, and perhaps they let more people in now.

This used to be "our spot" for watching fireworks before they started using it for the dessert party. IME people were pretty good about staying seated and not blocking people's view behind them. The most annoying thing to me was people moving their chairs without lifting them... there was a constant sound of dragging metal across the concrete floor.

Just don't carry a picnic basket and you should be ok.

 Yay for cheap fixes! Now go dive, would ya? :lmao:

Find someone slower than you to walk out to the car with, that way if you see the bear you just need to outrun the other person.

I have a busy day planned. Already started laundry and loaded dishwasher. I need to cut the grass this AM and go vote in our primary. Then, feed dds lunch and off to the Avengers. Then, oldest has dance practice after that. Will probably throw softball or something else with younger dd during that. I'm ready to spend everyday like this. C'mon winning lottery numbers.

Waiting for one of the AC guys to come look at the not functioning cooling units. Wonder how much that is going to cost me. Another one is coming tomorrow for a second estimate. Need to get it fixed before the heat really starts. Wish I knew someone that does that sort of thing and is willing to travel down to fix it.

Hmm. I think I'll live vicariously through Norm today. No offense, CJ.

I'm going to use this as my excuse not to go jogging tonight. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a prank. :rolleyes1

::yes::

I'm being a slug today - intentionally so. Hard 2.5 mile run, 45 minutes of kettlebell class, and then grocery shopping was bad enough. I'll do dishes later - but I plan on doing some resting until it is time for DS soccer practice.

(After that, though, it will be dishes, mow part of the lawn, and do some random cleaning, and probably at least one load of laundry.)

Still they are better then the beginning of the season.

Chris, maybe you need to use that one. I would but need to substitute gator for bear.

 Yay for cheap fixes! Now go dive, would ya? :lmao:

Have to because the kid needs to get a wet suit before the Hawaii trip and check the weight she needs to have when diving. Getting itchy to go down there.

Under a flood watch right now. Storm clouds are building. Guess the roof will be closed tonight for the game.

Nice. We planted 3 acres of pumpkins.

last spring, we grew pumpkins in our garden because I had the bright idea to toss our jack o lanterns and halloween pumpkins into the garden area to decompose... well, there were still seeds in some of them!! :scared1:

Thanks. I've sold most of my gold. I want to sell my high school ring but DW says no. I told her it was my ring. She says to keep it and leave it for an inheritance one day. I knew that woman would be th death of me.

My high school ring is somewhere... in the garage, i think.

Just checking in haven't had time to catch up but wanted to say hi. The crew is getting antsy, we leave in 21 days.
Didn't tell you this earlier but we got into the tommorowland terrace desert party. The DD'S dont know this and it is our first time doing this. DW also got HDDR today, COOL!

congrats on dessert party!! I answere your question about it a bit earlier, and I found my video of wishes from that vantage point. trying to get it on youtube so i can share the link.

Excellent!

I remember when my DD was that age and doing that. I don't miss the small fortune for a dance outfit that they would wear once though.

This one wasn't TOO expensive. but now that the recital is over, it's now dress up clothes until she outgrows it.

America Ninja Warrior is on NBC TONIGHT. Will have to flip between basketball. I wonder if you will be able to see the ninjas on tv? Ninja ad time?

do they just show before and afters?? since the ninjas can't be caught on camera.

Well my son's class trip got rained out for the 2nd time:crazy2:, my wife was supposed to go with them but now that she used all her days off as long as they do it next week it looks like Ole' Commando might be going along:good vibes. now if I get to go we are going to a small theme park, so it looks like anyone in my son's group will be covering the park in 3hrs (that's how long they will be there), If they'll fall asleep on the bus on the way home I did a good job:thumbsup2, It's not everyday a group of kids has Commando as a tour guide:rotfl2:

If they go this week there is noway I can get off with a holiday this weekend, so Grandpa would have to go:rolleyes2

sounds like those kids are in for quite a trip!!

It's amazing how much the same but different things can be on this thread. I had a similar moment this morning. Two-hour meeting on a new software release. We had been sent the slide deck ahead of time and I browsed through them but they just lose allot of clarity without someone presenting with context.

About 25 people show up in the room and another 20 or so conferenced in and the leader says that this will just be to answer questions about the slides. "Did everyone review the slides?" silence... "Well this isn't going to work too well then." No Kidding! :rolleyes2

Then I had to ask the question. "Who were these slides put together for and when was it presented?" The answer I got back was that they had called a meeting three weeks ago but somehow forgot to invite anyone so there was only the Engineering teams that worked on this release to present to each other. WHAT??? :faint:

Sometimes I wonder if the thinner air on the upper floor affects these people. :scratchin

this just made me laugh. :lmao:

Very cute.

thanks.

Morning men!

Its one day closer to a three day weekend!

One a side note, Im trying to get thing organized and moved around at home, the wife inherited her grand mothers bedroom suite and Im trying to make space for it. So, she is talking to her mom on the phone last night, and her mom mentioned a dinette set that they are also giving us.....um.. what? So, I've got even more stuff to get rid of now. Gonna be a long week in the Birchfield house.

Matt

Those that have gone recently with the new fastpass rules, has the fastpass rules made the fastpass lines shorter? More efficient? Quicker?

interested to see how it is on our trip. we weren't really hoarders and tended to use most at their window. I did get some for big rides i would do by myself and hoard them until an opportunity arose to sneak off...

Hooray for coffee!

Actually, while DD came into our room last night, she was easily shuffled back into her room, so that was an improvement, albeit not as much of one as I would have liked.

Got the rest of the tall grass mowed yesterday, need to basically start mowing the lawn again today. Hoping to catch up before we are gone for a good chunk of the upcoming weekend.

raining here, so can't mow... just watching it grow.

Time for a yard sale. I keep telling DW my retirement income plans are to fill the garage with all the extra crap in the house we don't use, and haul it out daily or weekly to sell. No add in paper. It would give me something to do and some spending money. Now, we do the yard sales once or twice a year when our niieighborhood all does it.

can't find the time to organize what's in the garage to sell it. i wonder if i could just do it like they do when they auction off storage units... winning bid takes everything in the garage!!

sounds like a fun day!

A very good morning to all,

Waiting for one of the AC guys to come look at the not functioning cooling units. Wonder how much that is going to cost me. Another one is coming tomorrow for a second estimate. Need to get it fixed before the heat really starts. Wish I knew someone that does that sort of thing and is willing to travel down to fix it.

At least I have a Marlins game to go to tonight. So far they are 1-4 in games I have attended. Don't think I am a jinx and even if I did, I already bought the tickets so I have to go.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

I'll come down and look at it for you!

oh, guess you don't need my opinion anymore! not that I would have been able to do anything more than just look at it. But hey, it's an excuse to go to florida!!

I just had the opening song for Tangled running through my head while reading this... so when are you gonna brush your hair? :lmao:

hmm... if i owned a bear, maybe i could rent it out to people who want to use it as an excuse not to go to work.

and cover them in honey!

DD had 1 of her 2 preschool graduations today. This was for the 1 day/week program run by the actual elementary school she will go to next year.

woke up on the wrong side of the couch this morning. very grumpy up until now. DS was a little beverly all during the ceremony. then at home, tried to do some Wii Fit and DD stole the Wii to play her princess game...

so... I made some additional ADRs for our trip. We've added the wishes dessert party to our first MK night, and we added the Flying Fish Cafe to the first night off the boat when we check into BC.

that has improved my mood considerably!

That is EXACTLY my company...

Heh. Years ago, when I was still earning a paycheck, I had this conversation (with someone in sales and marketing):

Me: The specs for this game [pull-tab game, ie, gambling] say it should be 3,960 tickets, at $1 each. And have 2 prizes of $1000, 6 prizes of $500, and assorted $50, $10, and $5 prizes.

Sales: That is correct.

Me: I think that's going to be a problem.

Sales: Why?

Me: It has $3,960 in tickets sales, and gives out $6,000 or so in prizes.

Sales: So?

Me: It has $3,960 in tickets sales, and gives out $6,000 or so in prizes.

Sales: So? (repeat another couple of times)

Me: It gives out more in prizes than it takes in.

Sales: Huh? It takes in $3,960, and then gives out *grabs calculator* $6,000 in prizes. I guess it might need a little tweaking.

I think I took a long and early lunch that day.

That's where you messed up. You should have kept your mouth shut, turned in your resignation and bought every ticket you could get your hands on. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Kudos to you for at least wanting to do the Wii Fit...

Our Wii Fit was used once (maybe twice). I even bought the Wii Fit plus software only - about a year ago, I don't think the shrink wrap is even off it yet.
