Anyone else done the desert teris? Is it worth it? I have herd good things but have misgivings about having a roof over us and that we won't be able to properly see wishes.

Morning men!

Its one day closer to a three day weekend!

One a side note, Im trying to get thing organized and moved around at home, the wife inherited her grand mothers bedroom suite and Im trying to make space for it. So, she is talking to her mom on the phone last night, and her mom mentioned a dinette set that they are also giving us.....um.. what? So, I've got even more stuff to get rid of now. Gonna be a long week in the Birchfield house.

Morning Matt, and everyone else :thumbsup2

Those that have gone recently with the new fastpass rules, has the fastpass rules made the fastpass lines shorter? More efficient? Quicker?

Thanks for calling me a horse. There will be a closure in about 100 pages and I'll get passed by.

Do they have a computer? They may be able to buy a cheap web cam and chat with you.

Being a Kentuckian you know that the only greater honor than being a horse is being a member of UK's basketball team. Isn't a bad life either. Run a race or two and be put out to stud. :lmao:

No computer for the family up there but I talk to them every day.

Hooray for coffee!

Actually, while DD came into our room last night, she was easily shuffled back into her room, so that was an improvement, albeit not as much of one as I would have liked.

Got the rest of the tall grass mowed yesterday, need to basically start mowing the lawn again today. Hoping to catch up before we are gone for a good chunk of the upcoming weekend.

If it's still Monday up here, why am I at work?

:rotfl:

I'm going home.

I'll stay home for you this week.

.

That would be the life, other than the whipping and doping.

Well my son's class trip got rained out for the 2nd time:crazy2:, my wife was supposed to go with them but now that she used all her days off as long as they do it next week it looks like Ole' Commando might be going along:good vibes. now if I get to go we are going to a small theme park, so it looks like anyone in my son's group will be covering the park in 3hrs (that's how long they will be there), If they'll fall asleep on the bus on the way home I did a good job:thumbsup2, It's not everyday a group of kids has Commando as a tour guide:rotfl2:

If they go this week there is noway I can get off with a holiday this weekend, so Grandpa would have to go:rolleyes2

The commando tour guide. They couldn't handle you. I find my children are always asking me to stop long before I am ever ready to call it.

Hehe... well as the old saying goes, if the "horse"shoe fits...

or something like that :cool1:

Close enough. Besides, I've called worse.

It's amazing how much the same but different things can be on this thread. I had a similar moment this morning. Two-hour meeting on a new software release. We had been sent the slide deck ahead of time and I browsed through them but they just lose allot of clarity without someone presenting with context.

About 25 people show up in the room and another 20 or so conferenced in and the leader says that this will just be to answer questions about the slides. "Did everyone review the slides?" silence... "Well this isn't going to work too well then." No Kidding! :rolleyes2

Then I had to ask the question. "Who were these slides put together for and when was it presented?" The answer I got back was that they had called a meeting three weeks ago but somehow forgot to invite anyone so there was only the Engineering teams that worked on this release to present to each other. WHAT??? :faint:

Sometimes I wonder if the thinner air on the upper floor affects these people. :scratchin

Was that from Dilbert? So, if it isn't intelligence and hard work that gets these people promoted, then why does every business and government keep doing it?

Time for a yard sale. I keep telling DW my retirement income plans are to fill the garage with all the extra crap in the house we don't use, and haul it out daily or weekly to sell. No add in paper. It would give me something to do and some spending money. Now, we do the yard sales once or twice a year when our niieighborhood all does it.

I have a busy day planned. Already started laundry and loaded dishwasher. I need to cut the grass this AM and go vote in our primary. Then, feed dds lunch and off to the Avengers. Then, oldest has dance practice after that. Will probably throw softball or something else with younger dd during that. I'm ready to spend everyday like this. C'mon winning lottery numbers.

Oh man! You just beat me! hehe... Hopefully you won't be only NM member for long...

"Hi, my name is Brad, and I am a Disneyaholic"
For several years, this has been my mantra. My wife is looking for professional help for me, but problem is they can't help you if you don't want it.

I went to DL for the 1st time in 1975. Then served as a Youth Pastor in Long Beach,CA for 6 years, and had many trips to DL with the youth. But honestly, my Disney obsession didn't start until 1999 when I stood watching Minnie holding my beautiful 3-month old baby girl and I knew I would never be the same. Since then, we have never missed a year without Disney.

SO what would qualify me to be a Disney Dad?
  • Many trips to DL, marched in the Disney Parades wearing a tutu with my little girls

  • Took our 5th wheel out one year and parked in RV park next door

  • Bought into DVC, and decided we were going to make Disney our yearly family vacation no matter what else we did

For 13 years, we have made Disney such a total part of our lives, and I absolutely LOVE planning, dreaming, researching, learning. We just went on the new Dream in November, and then for our 25th Anniversary, we left the kids behind to take a special trip just for us. So where did we want to go for our special trip... another Disney cruise of course. Just got back from an MR cruise.

It would be an honor to join your fraternity and share my passion (my wife says addiction) for all things Disney

hmmm.... maybe I should add basic info

Name: Brad (aka papamouse)
Wife: Carrie
Kids: Catie (18)
PattyJo (13)
Home: Carlsbad, NM
Occupation: Pastor

Next Disney trip:
Nov 2012 headed to Disneyland to experience Thanksgiving Day as a family at Disney.
Already planning June 2013 trip to Aulani to celebrate Catie's HS graduation

Hiya Brad! You are definitely one of us :) You are member # 697! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

A very good morning to all,

Waiting for one of the AC guys to come look at the not functioning cooling units. Wonder how much that is going to cost me. Another one is coming tomorrow for a second estimate. Need to get it fixed before the heat really starts. Wish I knew someone that does that sort of thing and is willing to travel down to fix it.

At least I have a Marlins game to go to tonight. So far they are 1-4 in games I have attended. Don't think I am a jinx and even if I did, I already bought the tickets so I have to go.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Not a bad day at all. :thumbsup2

Morning Fellas! TGIAM!

Morning folks...

Monday here in Canada... I am sure you Americans are up to Tuesday already.

That's O.K. You'll get caught up next week while we skip Monday. :lmao:

Not much change in my opinion but it may have been just slightly faster.

Hooray for coffee!

+1 :thumbsup2

Sure sounds like a Dilbert Cartoon. Unfortunately, it is a case where Life Imitates Art except that there are a few people between my level and Pointy Hair Boss.

I have kept a copy of this around somewhere for years.

I thought Marlins had best record in May?

That's a good one. Since I work at a University, I find new bosses routinely. I know by direct boss, but then there are 6 or 10 other bosses until tomorrow when there is sure to be a dozen.
