OK... so I'm not much of a drinker. Have you heard of an Arnold Palmer? It's basically half and half of iced tea and lemonade. Well... we found this Long Island Iced Tea mix at our local ABC store made by Barton and I mixed it with a lemonade drink tonight. Wow... what a combination!

Already posted this but..

Don't forget!

Those of you who will be in disney between June 1st to June 9th, I would like to set up a Disdad's meet. We have rented the premium cabana at the poly on the 7th! We are planning a quiet dinner at the cabana around 6p but the rest of the night is wide open. So you guys can come and watch the electric water parade and wishes on the poly beach. Going to be free soda and water and I will have a rather large bottle of libations. If the live feed is working we can even set up an event to say hello to those who werent fortunate enough to make it on your trip! PM me if you plan on attending! already have a few families coming but the more the merrier! :thumbsup2

If no one objects, I'm going to try to remember my bottle of Balveine Doublewood 12 yr Single Malt Scotch to the party. It seems like a good "After Boma" drink.

I finally got to work on one of the Mustangs today, I started with my 1st car a 72 Mustang Mach 1 351 CJ with full ram air in show condition, all I needed to replace was a starter cellonoid, started right up, but before I can take it out on the Blue Highway I have to give it a cleaning and a waxing, this way when I take it to the road, Detroit Muscle gets the respect it deserves:thumbsup2

I did realize something tonite, I can NEVER sell these cars ever:confused3, my son came out in his PJ's all wide eyed that the car was out, he had to have a ride, so I told him to get in and backed it to the end of the 8 car driveway and I drove him into the garage:good vibes, he was so excited when he got inside and told my wife as soon as he saw her:banana: with that I realized it's time to start showing him the ropes:scratching, I think I'll start him off handing me tools and helping clean the cars:confused3, at least he will know his tools and how to use them:thumbsup2

Since I built these cars ground up plenty of my sweat & blood has been spilled working on them so basically they are a part of me, therefore they have to go to my son one day when I'm gone I will still be there in the cars:confused3

Out of the 4 cars, 2 are in show condition, 1 is 85% complete and 1 at my Dad's house is 40% done (my dad does work on it on his own sometimes when I go to his house he brings me to the garage to show me what he did, says it keeps him young:cool2:)

I invited my dad over next week to help me work on one of the cars, although I could do it myself, I told him I wasn't sure of some stuff, since he is the one who taught me, it makes him feel good to be needed and that he might still be able to teach me something:rolleyes1

I guess what I'm getting to is if your child shows a interest in what you are doing. don't turn them away, when you are long gone it could be something your child always remembers you by:confused3

Well, DW tripped and crashed into the monorail in th Disney room. The monorail is ok, but she cut up her leg pretty bad. I asked her if I could take a picture and post it here, but she said no. She did laugh about it later, but she is still hurting a bit.

On the pro side, after returning from the Avengerrs with the dds, they liked it so much that I started screaming like th Hulk at them,m so, far it is working. They were arguing and getting ready to start fighting, and I screamed like the Hulk which startled them, they laughed, and forgot about what their fight was about. I have a new parenting technique.

DAVVVEEEE!!!!

15 Dole Whips... $50
8 nights at the Poly... $2000
Taking the perfect picture of Tigger with DD... priceless!

Love the new avatar!

That was a great picture. I noticed that avatar too. Apparently, Dave hasn't seen the picture that was made in his honor.

It's always good when you find a new drink combo.

My DW and I got a 2011 Mustang V6 in July of 2010. It has 10,500 miles on it now, so our plan is to keep it for a long time. I don't have the skillz to work on it myself, but, my DS9 has already let me know he's going to drive it when he turns 16, so I'll plan to keep my daily driver in shape for the next 7 years, and then beyond.

'Cause right now, I've got NO plans to let my DS drive the Mustang...

That almost sounds like that TV ad where the dad is telling his young daughter who sitting behind the wheel and when he's done telling her everything she's all grown up:thumbsup2

I in no way plan to let my son drive any of the mustangs till he's like 25, God willing, UNLESS he wants to build one with his own money, I'd be more then happy to help, I will give him the opp when he is 15 since I was offered the same, if you build it yourself you respect it that much more:thumbsup2

Kudos to you for at least wanting to do the Wii Fit...

Our Wii Fit was used once (maybe twice). I even bought the Wii Fit plus software only - about a year ago, I don't think the shrink wrap is even off it yet.

I think it's pretty cool for the balance tests/games. I use it every once in a while. I think it's a bit off on where it says I need to be weight wise to have the correct BMI. I think it wants me to be around 165lbs!! :scared1: I'm fairly confident that for my height and build, I should be at least 185.

Frustrating day. Had to leave the hollers for the big city and got a few things done, but high on my list was treating myself to some Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout now that the family is away. Forgot it was election day in KY. No alcohol sales until after 6 PM. :sad2:

gotta love those weird laws. I used to know a whole bunch of obscure laws.

We didn't have a great meal at Flying Fish, but they've added a surf n turf I think, and I will try it again one day.

sorry you had a bad experience. We literally stumbled into that place back in 2010. Tried the grille but the wait was excessive... walked to the fish just to see and they said they could sit us at the counter within 10 minutes. I had doubts about the counter seating but getting to watch my steak cooked in front of me was cool. It was cooked to near perfection. DW really enjoyed her pasta and scallops. Now that counter area is their special chef's table.

There's a guy at work that does that. He just goes to yard sales and buys it all. He resales some, fixes stuff up, and makes some extra money doing that. That commute may be a bit much.

we have guys around here who drive around taking stuff from everyone's trash. some of them just look for metal to sell. Some others i think are looking for things to fix up and then try to sell at swap meets.

Relatively busy day today. I'm only working a half day, but I need to get a good portion of a presentation for Saturday prepped. Then, this afternoon, I have to accompany DW to the hospital. Teach a class to 4 kids aged 4-7 from 7pm-8pm. Then I have dinner at 9 with a friend I haven't seen in a few months. Overall, should be an exciting day.

busy day. hope you enjoy it.

Sweet!! Now my DW will REALLY think I need help! :thumbsup2

does she know about bacon?? bacon is a superfood. She should feed you bacon regularly!

the finale count on the dole whips this trip:

tammy 2

zerfs 3

briana 10

we spent a total of 8 nights , 15 dole whips @ $3.45 each.

not only did you get beat... you got TROUNCED! go briana! You at least made up for it by having more shots of Beverly than her, right??

Someone turned me on to the "half and half", as we called it, in college. I've been mixing my iced tea and lemonade ever since. It was years after that I heard it was called an Arnold Palmer and that it was supposed to have alcohol as well! Of course, now that I don't drink. Back when I did, one of my favorites was the Lynchburg Lemonade... never thought of making a half lynchburg, half long island though.... somebody should try it and let me know how it goes. :thumbsup2

Morning Duck,

Had a good night last night. Marlins tried to give the game away but ended up holding on for the win. And the heat destroyed the Pacers.

Rain is really bad though. Some areas got 5" yesterday for a new record. Another 3-4 possible today. Luckily, we are high and dry at the house.

Morning, dads.

Last night was rough - spent most of the time driving back from soccer practice reading the riot act at the kids - DS has a habit of cutting across the baseball diamonds while a game is being played, they both took off for the parking lot (leaving me to juggle their water, soccer balls, etc - which they had "promised" that they would carry), DS talked back to the coach and generally whined throughout practice, etc. Just lots of little things, and they all happened to hit at the same time.

Hopefully, today goes better - DD has a playdate after preschool, and with DS in school, I have most of the day completely to myself.
