Happy New Year to all. May you have the gift of joy all year long.

Sorry I missed the photo blitz, but was getting blitzed elsewhere. DW had a friend get married (Catholic wedding), which had an open bar at the reception. It was a wedding reception/ New Year's Eve party rolled into one. She had children from a previous marriage and others did as well, so they created a little play area for the children with play doh and other activities. Mine took turns playing and dancing with everyone. They did a EST New Year's and we went home then. The dds are still sleeping, but a good party once a year is worth it. BTW, I did not get blitzed enough to drive - just enough to dance. :dance3:

Good morning dads! Hope everyone's celebrations were grand, safe and happy!

DS was with grandma last night so I took my DW to the new casino on long island last night. Was fantastic having only a 15-20 minute drive instead of 45 minutes to Yonkers or 3 hours to AC!

Anyway the point was, we get there and lo and behold, Wolfgang Puck Express! Had a grea NYE dinner with the tortilla soup and a Half of a spicy chicken pizza. DW had the traditional marguerita pie with a caesar salad side. The soup was fantastic!

And finally the casino provided the funds for dinner, the valet, and some spending money for the week. So nice of them! Will definitely return for more WPE.

Nice of the casino to do that. I wonder how they make money for giving people money to entice them back to the casino? :confused3 I went to the one we have in Evansville once. It is on a boat. I was not impressed. Maybe one year I'll get to Vegas for some real casino action.

First post of 2012 OWNAGE!

Squirrel!

You have teams in Toronto? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just figments of our imagination...

One spark of light, can light your fancy
your midn sees more than what your eyes see
your sense of sight can make your fancy fly
there's more to sight, than meets the eye

Perfect for all the Maple Leaf fans! :thumbsup2

Down on your Canadian teams? Our big state rival game yesterday - UL v UK basketball - resulted in close to 50 fouls combined for both teams. It was terrible to watch. The phrases - let them play - and C'mon man - were never uttered more often at my home yesterday.

Kentucky is my Team!!! Glad to see they won but that must have been painful to watch.

KY does not have any professional teams, which makes it difficult for me. Correction - Louisville has minor league baseball - but I'm referring to MLB, NBA, NFL, etc. Last year, we had our first NASCAR Cup race, but I could not get tickets. I have the Colts in Indy and Titans in TN, but those are 2 hour plus drives away, NOT counting traffic time after exiting the games.

So, I tend to cheer on all our KY college teams, but am not a fanatic like many of our local UK fans. 2 years ago, when Coach Calipari first arrived at UK, he was criticized by fans for losing 3 games that year. People here tend to lose perspective that these players were just 17 year old high school kids last year, and today, they hold the fate of the free world - a UK win - in their hands. Silly.

I'm running the virus scan on the computer. But, the dds are now awake. Time to go make M&M mini waffles. Yum.

Good Morning!

I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's Eve. I was working until 9pm, then had to fight through the crowds to get to my train so I could make it home by 11pm. DW and DD were up to watch the ball drop. DD then got sick in the middle of the night. We thought perhaps she ate too many appetizers before going to bed, but this morning she's still sick.

Well, we were all sick last NYE, so maybe this is a new family tradition?? :confused3

I've been loving my Kindle Fire, and this past week I read Treasure Island, Ready Player One, and the first Hunger Games book on it. I was able to install Aldiko on it last night, and now I can read EPubs, which makes it that much better!!

Oh, and how could I forget to share this bit of news??... We are officially booked for the first leg of our summer vacation. :woohoo: 3 Nights at BLT (theme park view) before we leave on the Dream. With the first two parts now officially set, all that remains (aside from booking flights, renting car, paying off the cruise, and buying park tickets) is to book our post-cruise stay when that window opens up in a few days.

Mornin Guys!

Just checking in....

A crazy thing happening this morning....I slept in! Till 10a! :scared1: Gotta love that breathing machine!

On today's agenda...going to the in-laws place for an extended family Christmas exchange with my wife's Aunt and Uncle and cousins.

Listening to the Muppets Soundtrack....

It's gonna be a great day! :thumbsup2
