Hey Philip! (DisDr.)
I'm Late!

Ditto! Happy Birthday, Emma and Phil!
Crazy. Life keeps moving on. I look back in 2011 and see milestones passed, tragedies unfold, and countless blessings given not just to me, but to our family as a whole. Having you guys around makes it easier to share in each of these.
Here's to an awesome 2012!Unless the Mayans are correct, then it's the worst year EVER!

Nice speech, Don!
Well, it happened. The worst thing ever (not counting the Mayans),
a boy called my daughter on the phone.![]()

Now, there are a two neighbor boys that stand on the sidewalk in front of the house in the AM and compete to walk my daughter to the bus stop. But, I was not ready for the phone call. For her 10th birthday, she was wanting a tablet so we bought her the Kindle Fire (since DW likes it so much). Now, she's talking about having an email and Facebook account. Ahhhhhhhh!
Oh, Norm. You are in big trouble...
I don't want to talk about what comes next.
As for the phone, we have an extra cell phone (no internet or texting) added on the family plan for both dds to use if needed. We will add a 4th when the younger one gets older. If they want an Iphone or data plan, they have to have a job to pay for the additional services.
As for Facebook, she says that EVERYONE in her class has one. DW and I said that when the tablet gets here, then we would sign her up on FB with the condition that she shares her password for us to monitor.
Lots of 5-6th graders have them in my town, but certainly not the majority and mostly girls. Technically, you need to be 13 to have a FB account, but lots of parents sign their kids up anyway. It will come and as most of us can attest to, a large part of someones social life is now spent on line. Just make sure that rules are set up and you supervise what is going on. At my house, we're still holding the line. My 11 year old wants one, but isn't pushing too hard, so we'll probably hold off until next year (6th grade).
Morning guys, and Happy New Year's Eve...
I made Apple Cider Donuts and BACON this morning for the kids.... mmmmmmmm. If you hurry on over, there might still be some for you - though the bacon has been going very, very quickly...
Those look fabulous, Christopher!
