Did he have fun though?

He always has fun...to me...when it stops being fun is when it is time to stop playing and find something else to do! The boy wants to play anything that has a ball involved with it right now :rotfl2:

Hmmm... that's a little conflicting with the last story....

Oh, never mind. :rotfl2:

I'm still on the fence with mine as she is only 10 & not very mature. But, I can monitor that more closely than I can monitor her F2F conversations with her peers. And, by coaching different teams and being in a small town, it is easier for me to someone that shouldn't be there. Also, she is not my lying child, and will tell us something or ask questions when she is not sure.

Facebook terms of service require users to be 13 years old. Technically speaking, intentionally violating the terms of service constitutes "unauthorized access to a computer system" - which is a federal crime.

Therefore, my nine-year-old daughter will not have a Facebook account for another four years.

Pretty big uproar here in Shelby County yesterday. A 15 year old boy was shot in the woods about a mile and a half from my house. He was from Michigan visiting family over break and they were going to play paintball in the woods. Somebody heard a noise and thought it was coyotes and fired off 15 rounds from an assault rifle into the woods without confirming what they were shooting at. My cousin is on the FD and had to respond to the call. Said the kid was shot 3 times and the damage made him nearly unidentifiable. Just a sad story, especially this time of year.

I'm not against owning guns, I have some myself, but there needs to be an IQ or idiot test before anyone is allowed to fire one. If you can't see what you're shooting at, don't pull the peanut butter trigger.

That is terribly tragic. Prayers out for that family. How sad.

In other not-at-all related, yet similarly themed news... I won a .22 pistol today. Go figure. Got a text from my eldest while DW and I were out to lunch that the local gun shop called and congratulated me for winning their contest. My middle son and step-dad entered a contest while SD was here for Thanksgiving, and they had to have a local address. So my SD won a gun, and I won one as well. Crazy cool. SD won't be able to claim his though, til the spring when they come again. I'll go fill out the paperwork and such on Tuesday when the shop reopens.

Those look fabulous, Christopher!

Thanks... they are very, very yummy.

I can be there in an hour and a half!

I'm still waiting.... there are only 2 left.

Nah, I'm good. But I'd take one of Christopher's donuts!

It's yours if you can get here before Andy (he seems a little slow today...)

About to head out shortly...

Dad's Have a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous, Safe New Year.

Don't forget to either tune in, or set your PVR's for ABC's Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve, for they eagerly anticipated announcement about Disney Parks in 2012.

And please promise me you won't Drink and Drive.

I would say congrat's, but sorry - to me that doesn't seem right.

I am not against guns, but I am against them giving them away free.

I am sure you are very responsible, and this is not meant at all as a rant about you.

But I think if you are going to buy a gun, you need to buy the gun.

What's stopping some a__hole off the street, who has no legitimate need for a gun, from walking into a gun store and filling out a ballot.

Sorry - I will step down from my soapbox...

Happy New Year Christopher... :)

... To continue my rant, a brain is developed enough to sign up to die for country in military service, but not enough to purchase a beer to drink at dinner

I agree. Back in my day the age was 18 and I remember being out and seeing 35 year old "adults" acting more irresponsibly than my friends and I. If you are old enough to serve, get married, vote, pay taxes, take out a loan for a house and any number of other activities you are old enough.

No worries. I take no offense at your rant. I will say that there is ATF paperwork to be completed, as well as an FBI check to be completed before I can take possession of the firearm.

I've seen numerous firearm contests in the decade we've lived here from numerous retailers. I've never actually entered one previously. Never really gave it a lot of thought as I have a couple of other firearms already, but haven't used them in several years. So this will be another for the collection.

The more I think about it, in hindsight, they probably should have had the ATF paperwork completed on the front-end of the process, vs. the back-end. But it is what it is.

It's supposed to be about Leap Day, and some of the parks staying open for 30 or more hours.

This is something that was done at Disneyland numerous times in the late '80s for different celebrations (1986 there was a 60 Hr Party for the Grand Opening celebration for Captain EO, as well as again in 1987 for Star Tours). There was also a 30 Hr party in 1985 for Disneyland's 30th birthday.

Something similar is expected to be announced tonight for this coming February. The most likely parks to have it will be Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.

Just saw that starting at 6pm tonight the IFC channel is having a 3 Stooges Marathon. Start indoctrinating the young males with this humor that only guys seem to appreciate. :happytv:

HAPPY NEW YEARS GUYS!!! :thumbsup2

Hey stranger, Happy New Year to you as well!

Making a fresh pot of Starbuck's French Roast - there's sure to be an extra cup or two... anyone up for it?

Is there any left, I can be there in.......how long is the drive :rotfl2:
