::yes:: Just wasn't the same without Bob. (and other changes)

That's about the time I stopped listening. Bob was the glue that held it all together. I was in WDW when he passed.

Yesterday we left Christmas in the rear view mirror as we drove back home from where DW's and my families both live (also where we both grew up). Today, Christmas goes back in the box. We've never taken the decorations down this early, but with the way that New Year's falls this year and having to go back to work and school on Monday the 2nd, there's too much going on over the next few days.

Goodbye Christmas. This was fun. Let's do it again next year!

Glad you checked in, Mike! Been a little while. Our decorations were officially put away yesterday... and is the earliest for us as well. I called DW a grinch for putting away our decorations so soon! :lmao:

It’s not that bad (no worse then walking from some of the rooms on the outskirts of POR back toward the main building), and if you take one of the boats, then it counts as an attraction as well.

Also…
My first TR has some pretty good pictures of POR buried in it if you’re interested.

Here’s the best collections…

Chapter-4, Part-3

Chapter-8, Part-1

Thanks for the links! I think I PORFQ is getting a slight edge... back to my research. :surfweb:

I also posted the question on the RESORTS board....

Well, I'll never catch up to Brian! But I can hold off David and Steve!

But how about # of pages OWNED?!

Went to Disney on Ice today.

Took a bunch of pics - most of them are blurry - those dang charactersd won't stay still and pose.

It was the BEST Disney On Ice I've been to. We have been to 4 in the last 3 years.

The show was 100 Years of Magic, and not only did they include Disney Stories, but they did a little piece on the Happiest Place on Earth. The set turned into It's A Small World and then floats came out to the Main Street Electrical Parade Song.

I will sift through the pics, and post some soon.

Glad to hear a good review! We are going on Jan. 13... I'll have to bring to 'good' camera to get some shots. :goodvibes

As it happens, I already have a trip planned for March of 2013. We're doing a land/sea trip. 3 nights on the Dream March 7-10, then a week or so at WDW from March 10 - 16ish. If anyone wants to plan around those dates, I'll make a meet up work!
Man! This would of been PERFECT to cash in!!!! We have been going this week for 4 years, but not in 2013. You feel like taking a short trip in.. say... the first week of Nov. 2012? :confused3:confused3

Somethings a brewing at the WDW!!!

Update #3 (12/29/11) – With just a couple of days to go, it really does appear that the joke is on us. Sources have confirmed to us that while the 24 hour parties are in fact happening, it’s just the first of many ‘spectacular’ events to be taking place at Disney Parks throughout 2012. The sad part is with the fact that Disney Parks first decided to disguise the campaign, then drop not-so-subtle hints about what (at least part of) the event entails makes one wonder how much of it is real and how much of it is a ploy. Make no mistake, we’re 99.99% certain the parties are happening, especially in light that cast members are being told it is, but since nothing is fact until it’s announced, there sure is a lot of questionable acts and information being deployed. On a side note, congratulations to Disney Parks for getting this one by us (almost): This video from the recent Disney Store Times Square event in New York City has a particularly interesting tag.

This could be alll speculation on the poster part. Would be sweet pulling an all nighter at MK!!

Wow... 24 hours in a park... hope they have free coffee!! :lmao::lmao:

I hope Barry knows he would have had to cut the line to get me my lifetime supply of DoleWhip's!
I'll send Evan. He's only waist high and can sneak easier.

Hmmmm.....nope. :goodvibes

I'd make him get on the monorail and get one from the Poly. Then if he gets back to you and it is melted, make him try again.:thumbsup2 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

DW had a great idea for a reward system for us losing weight. If we keep up good progress towards meeting our goals weights (myself, DW, and DS), we will go to Disneyland this summer! That is a great motivator to me!

The kicker - we will be driving! I have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon and do a long family vacation road trip. We decided the kids are old enough now and we have plenty to keep them busy on the the drive (between DVD players, iPods, InnoPads, books, etc.) We will leave on a either late Friday night or very early Saturday morning; spend two days to drive there; spend Mon - Fri between Disneyland, DCA, Legoland, and San Diego Zoo; then drive back on the weekend. Well, that is the initial plan. I will need to start more extensive research on routes/plans. Suggestions welcome. :)

So we just got back from doing a very similar trip. Disneyland and DCA were great. We had opted to by 4 day hopper tickets instead of buying the citypass. We had thought about doing Seaworld buy decided not too because there was so much other stuff we wanted to see in San Diego.

In San Diego we spent 1 day at a bed in breakfast on the beach in La Jolla. It was amazing and was my wife's favorite spot of the trip. The kids had a great time playing on the small cliffs by the ocean.
Our hotel for the rest of our time in San Diego was on Mission Bay.
Also in San Diego we visited Coronado Island and walked around the old hotel their. It was built in 1890 and the view from the beach was pretty spectacular. We also went out to the light house. The views from the cliffs there of San Diego and the pacific we the best of the trip.
We also went up to Torrey Pines to watch the Paragliders. The kids though that was really neat. We parked at the gliderport instead of going into Torrey Pines park proper.

At Disney we stayed at the Grand Californian and at the Howard Johnson. The hojo was walkable but I regretted not staying at some place closer like the Best Western. We were at the parks Tues-Fri. Crowds were much, much heavier on Friday. Friday we left the parks in the afternoon to go have dinner at Ruby's. The food was decent and relatively cheap (i had been buying disney food up to that point...so my view may be skewed.) Ruby's is a diner at the end of the Huntigton beach Pier. We timed it to get to watch the sunset. The kids loved watching the surfers. from the pier.

I have started working on a trip report. We took a lot of pictures. After deleting the bad ones we still have 3000+ from the week. I'll be adding a link to my tr once I get the first day finished.

I don't have any of the pics DW has cleaned up in photoshop on my laptop, but these are a couple of the SOOC shots from that trip.
