DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

One more pound down, only 2 more more to go :cool1:

I am in such amazement when I step on the scale. I felt so bloated yesterday & thought for sure the scale would reflect this. I was pleasantly surprised this morning :cheer2:

Janet, that's wonderful! WTG!! :cheer2:

Way to go, Janet!!! You are doing an awesome job! I keep forgetting to weigh in so hopefully tomorrow will be the magic day.

Janet..........I am so proud of you & thrilled at how close you are to your goal.

The whole Rick incident threw me off a bit, but once again I am back on track. Won't be weighing in until next week, but hopefully I have my head back in the game again although I am still on :cloud9: a bit!!!!!

Thanks Melanie!

I would still be on :cloud9: if I met Rick as well! I know you will get back on track :thumbsup2

Well, I finally remembered to weigh in the other day, but then hadn't had a chance to get on and post. Over the course of a week and a half or so, I was down 3lbs. I've been doing better on the eating, but haven't started up my water intake again. Today I will get the bottle out and get to filling and drinking and filling again.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Awesome Tia!

No loss for me this week, which I sorta figured would happen. I did not eat the best last week with the wedding & all. Oh well I am getting there!

Janet, you'll get those last two soon. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself with the wedding and didn't gain.

okay i am gonna join this group. hopefully it will help so we will see. i wanna get down to 150. as far as i know i am around 173 havent weighed since october since i cant get on a scale. i am trying to drink more water than i have been. i am trying to drink water for dinner every night. i have jug i got from the hospital when i was in there last june. it has marks of how many ounces/ml on it. im kinda like a kid i need incentives and that jug is my water incentive i can see how much i have drank. i have a very low will power to stay away from sodas and sweets. i live with my parents and i tell my mom no more sodas and she still buys them. i guess its the carbonation in the sodas. i need help thinking of ways to show incentive for me staying away from sweets and sodas. i need immediate incentive. i need to see some type of result immediate or i will quit. also i have no way to exercise because i am in a wheelchair. i will soon start pt but thats for range of motion. will that help lose weight? i am gonna try and get a scale for my lift so i can weigh every week to see some work. okay help me out.

We are here for you Karen! If you really set your mind to this, you can do it :cheer2: I drink water instead of soda, it takes a while to get use to. Now sodas tastes to sweet, even though they are diet. I love my sweets too & that was a struggle(still is at times). What helps me is buying the 100 calorie packs & this way I can watch my portions.

You can do it, Karen!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Welcome Karen...........we have a great bunch of cheerleaders here to help you out. :cheer:

Good job on the losses Tia & Kelli!!!!

I won't get to weight until Thursday because I had to work tonight.

Just wanted y'all to know I am still here..........plugging along.

I went to the doctor last week & he praised me for all I had done so far, but gave me a little kick in the butt to do more in the excercise dept. Also, he said he wanted me off diet soda. He thinks it doesn't really help people loose weight & can even hinder it. I have cut back from 4-6 diet sodas a day to 1-2 over the past week & that has been really hard. I had caffeine headaches for several days, but seem to be getting past that. I already drank alot of water on top of my diet sodas but now water is mostly what I am drinking.

Karen I know you can do this.  :yay: :yay: If you can't completely do away with the soda or sweets right away reduce the amount you are consuming each day and keep reducing the amount. Even if you still have one sweet a day it is better then whatever you are currently doing.

Also instead of weighing yourself pay attention to how your clothing is fitting you. It is another method of keeping yourself motivated.

I am doing not that well. I am now sitting on my butt like all day between driving to and from and at my new job until I get out and start meeting troops and things. I am also not drinking as much water as my old job had a water cooler so I could just fill up my cup/container as much as I wanted and my new job does not. I am still a few pounds heavier then my lowest point this year but a still a lot better then before.

I need to start taking a bunch of water with me each day so that I can drink as much as I want. I also need to start walking or doing another type of exercise again.

On other news I bought a size 12 dress for $8 to wear on my cruise in September. It is a tad bit tight but I could wear it as it is without problem.

Everyone losing  :dance3: :yay: everyone struggling hang in there.

What a great bargain & I know you will look fantastic wearing it!

Any and all excercise will help. You can do it and you're off to a great start. soda and sweets are my downfall too. Keep trying.

You can do it Becky. You've got your cruise for motivation :cool1:

I also need to cut the soda out of my diet. I have stopped losing and I'm pretty sure that diet soda is part of my problem. That is almost always what I choose to drink. I need to drink more water and increase exercise. Of course I'm not going to worry about it until after our trip

We're glad you're here, Karen!! You can do this! I'd recommend starting by cutting one of your two vices - soda or sweets. Don't try to go cold turkey on both at the same time. I find it much harder that way. Also, one small sweet treat in the midst of an otherwise healthy day is not bad. It's all in the porportions and overall diet. The PT should help in some exercise. Any additional movement is helpful. Will you be able to some PT work at home as well? Even without a scale, you can still track your progress. Clothes fit is the easiest way. Perhaps, if you are comfortable, you can also ask your attendant to help you track measurements. I find that on weeks when I'm not losing weight I still lose inches at times at that is motivation as well.

Post often if it helps keep you on track! We're all here to find success together.

A size 12! That's great. You'll adjust to the new situations and things will start moving and the dress will fit perfectly by cruise time!

with me i am like a kid i NEED to see either my weight has gone down or stayed the same. with me it takes forever to see clothes fitting looser. i have started to drink water at dinner from the jug i got when i was in the hospital and a soda at lunch. my jug has 32 ml marked in increments and its an incentive because i can say ok i drank this much water today. i am going to go to walmart and see if i can find another jug like that so i can have it in the room that has my desk because i am constantly at the desk doing something. i need to start having soda like every other day for lunch instead of everyday. the sweets i do eat a lot but its not everyday all the time. some days i'll eat sweets if they are in the house or the ingredients for say peanut butter cookies(i have a real simple recipe) are in the house. i did okay last week for lunch except my drink area. i had salads like 3 days last week.
