Cereal, toast, & yogurt I can do! Wish I had the energy to move like this lol :yay:

Cereal, toast, & yogurt I can do! Wish I had the energy to move like this lol :yay:

I'm supposed to eat eggs for breakfast, however, lately, eggs make me sick to my stomach. I try to eat about 3 tablespoons of oatmeal. I also enjoy yogurt. It really is important to eat breakfast, but sometimes it's hard. Find something you enjoy eating, and that helps. My SIL who has also had the surgery eats a hamburger pattie for breakfast. I can't do that, but the point is, she is eating something.

I forgot before, eggs are not a no no however the yolks have cholesterol in them so if you are watching that I wouldn't eat them all that often. Although you could do an egg white and veggie omelette if you didn't want the cholesterol.

OK, I'm in. I'm not calling it a New Year's Resolution though because I would be dooming myself to failure. I'm going to make it part of my WDW travel plan - I always make them happen. I'm setting short term goals - the first is 20lb. by March 15th (the date we leave for WDW). I think 20 fewer pounds of pressure on my knees and ankles would make a definite difference in my ability to walk the parks all day. Good luck everyone!

Welcome! Short term goals are the definite way to go! 20 pounds by March is well within your grasp! We'll be here behind you to support you!

Check back here often. We love to hear about progress!

And speaking of short term goals: here's my first goal. For the month of January my goal is to exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week. Walking/jogging, aerobics, weight training. Whatever I can squeeze into the day! I'll be reporting back. That's the thing that helps me most: I can lie to Alan, but I really feel like I have to be truthful with you all! Thanks for holding me accountable!

Woo Hoo! Welcome! You're going to do just great!

What do you all eat for breakfast or snacks? The last couple of mornings I have been eating dry wheat toast & an apple. Are eggs a big no no? I am not to much on eating breakfast, but I am going to try to start eating something in the morning.

I either have a weight watchers muffin or a weight watchers bagel with low fat low calorie peanut butter and diabetic jelly. I find both are filling and I have lots of points left for the rest of the day.

As Melanie said, pictures do tell the true story. The pictures I am posting are what is getting me in gear to lose weight. I looked at these the other day & was like wow, what did I do? These are my inspiration along with your support.

The 1st picture was taken in Oct. 2003 & I weighed 125 lbs(the outfit I am wearing is a size 6!). The 2cd was taken in June of 2005 & I weighed 145 lbs. I now weigh 160  I do not know if I can get back down to 125, but I know I can get to 145. I am a little ashamed to post these, but like I said this is what is going to help me. I even have a picture of the smaller me on the fridge.

I CAN DO THIS!

You still look beautiful. I totally understand looking at old pictures and being ashamed of what you see though. Your goals are surely attainable and remember it's not how much you way as much as how you see yourself. I have a look in mind for myself and I can't put a weight on it as my body has changed so much in the last 12 years. I'm sure that I can weigh more than I did at 24 years old, but still feel good about my appearance. Does that make sense? For me it is the whole package too, I want to look good, feel good and make myself a healthier and better role model for my children. Together we can do this.

I have some really embarassing pictures that I will share once I reach my goal. I'm not ready yet, but someday.

Welcome aboard. Tell us more about yourself. As you have probably read we are pretty much an open book.

It takes the place of the water, oil and eggs. That is where it saves on fat and calories by not having the oil and eggs. It is really moist and tastes yummy too. I find that making them as cupcakes keeps the portions reasonable.

So my diet wasn't wonderful today, but Chris and I both exercised for about 45 minutes tonight. We did weight training and I even ran on the treadmill a bit. I really dreaded going downstairs to do it, but felt great that I did. :cool1:

Did anyone else start exercising today?

Deb

Wow I am going to have to try this! Maybe this can be a way for me to have my sweets. Is the baking time the same? I bought a 12 pack of fresca probably 6 months ago & I have drank I think 4 four. I can use these I guess. I have a german chocolate cake mix, would this work or do you need to use a certain diet soda? What do you use for the frosting? I guess the coconut frosting I have is a no no lol

You can use any boxed cake mix with any diet soda. We've tried white cake with diet orange :thumbsup2 chocolate with lime pepsi :thumbsup2 white with diet cherry coke :thumbsup2 Honestly I haven't tried one that we didn't like. My only complaint is that if you make it in a cake pan it is so moist that it is impossible to cut and get a piece out. It sticks to the knife and the pan. I use a regular muffin tin with the papers in it and fill each one about 3/4 full. It works great and makes them easy to serve. We don't frost them as they are good without frosting, but you could use cool whip free or a diabetic frosting.
