DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Beth I just found the Reeses peanut butter eggs last night and I have yet to toss them. They are my favoritest, most favorite, I love them! I did not eat any, but I sure looked a them a lot. Today is trash day and I hope I can get them in the trash before I take Ellie to school, and then they will be gone FOREVER.

So I told DH on the phone (he’s gone right now) that I have a few people how I am accountable for my daily food intake. And that they are helping me to stay on track.

With that said… I thank you all for staying in my head when I decide what to eat to not eat.

Have a good weight loss day!

Good luck with those eggs! That's one thing I just can't bring myself to throw out! Well, DH loves them too, so I had him hide them.

We're here for you! I admire you so much for your willingness to get rid of all the candy! You are really achieving so much!

My goal for the weekend is to keep up with the exercising. I've been really bad about exercising on Saturday and Sunday. So, I'm pledging to exercise on Saturday. Sunday is my official "day of rest."

I also want to increase my water intake. I'm supposed to be drinking 64 ounces a day, and haven't been able to do that. This weekend I plan to!

I may be sharing a little more than ya'll are used to but oh well. It is easier for me to keep up with my actual weight than how many lbs I have lost. Last week on 4/19 I weighed 223.............1 week and 1 day later I weight 220......yeah ME :cheer2:

Keep in mind I even had Cheesecake Factory with Denise and Julia on Tuesday night.

Lynn

:cheer2: Great job!

Beth

Ok, I think I have two goals for this weekend. First, get back in the habit of logging everything I eat. Regardless of my attitude, this always helps -- maybe it's subconscious.

I also need to formulate my plan for what I have affectionately told myself will be "Bathing Suit Boot Camp" ;). Our gym has what they call a bikini boot camp program, but I won't set my sights too high

I need to really get an attitude of making immediate changes and quit putting it off, even if some major changes are only for this month-long period. Then, I figure some of the healthy choices will stick when we go on our cruise and when we come back, and I can start a more sane approach :rotfl:

I hope that you were able to toss them! They are good, but they aren't worth it. Can you have just a little bit to get the taste without driving yourself to have more? Sometimes it helps to have just a little, but other times it is like playing with fire.

On the plus side, I broke into the 139 pound range. I haven't been this weight in 16 years, so it feels really good! It's hard to believe that I started out at 221 pounds! I'm starting to believe what the mirror and the scale are showing me.

Yeah for you, Glynis!!! :cheer2: One thing I learned is that you have to make your mind believe what the mirror and the scale are showing you. You must feel terrific!

Hope your headache is gone, Glynis. Also, WTG on the 139! Another barrier broken. :cool1:

Yeah everybody......... party: for having good losses (Lynn), setting goals (Paula, Jennifer, Deb) & breaking barriers (Glynnis).

I just love that I can come here every day for a bit of support, encouragement & DDA sisterhood.

Yeah US........ :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

A cruise is a great motivator Jennifer.....mine in December is part of my goals over on the Weight loss progress thread. I hope that you & your hubby will both have a great cruise. :sail: From reading about all you've been going through you deserve it. From one nurse to another.....relax & enjoy yourself before you start work because being a nurse is a rewarding but stressful job.

Let's see, my goal for the weekend is to decrease the number of flex points I use. The weekend is when I treat myself some by using some of my weekly flex points. I am also going to try to walk both days.

Today was my first official weigh-in day. I lost 9 pounds this week! I know that it's water, etc., but it has to come off sometime.

Beth

Awesome Beth!!!
:jumping1:

Wow, everyone sounds like they are doing great!!! I am hanging out with you guys more often! :teeth:

It has been a hectic week with the kids scehdules I didn't get a chance to post yesterday that it was my weigh in & I am down 2 lbs this week. :cool1:

My weekend goal is to get in more exercise. I have been eating right & the water is no problem..I just have to work more exercise into my day. It is hard running the kids around all day to find a block of time to do it. Yesterday morning I did a brisk 45 minute walk in the park but today nothing since I was so busy...

Keep up the great work ladies!!!!

Glynis, You rock!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well girls.................I have fooled around with the same pound/half pound for 3 weeks now. I lost a pound this week, but I am still 0.5lbs from my 30lb loss mark. Oh well, I guess that is what you call the dreaded plateau.
We leave Saturday for vacation & I am not going to go crazy but I am going to treat myself a little & hopefully I will get off this plateau soon!!!!

Hope all of you are having a more successful week than I am.

I'm pleased to say that I am under 150 lbs. I have struggled with diet and exercise since January and my goal of getting back down to 143 which is where I maintained for over a year. It feels good to be in control and I have definately been more active. I really have lost my appitite and am forcing myself to eat at least twice a day now :confused3 I have about a week and a half before our cub scout campout which I am in charge of and I am sure that I will not be low carb that weekend, however I hope to stay as low as possible without missing out on all the fun. S'mores yum.

Deb

I went to Universal for a week and i came back at the same weight that i left at (144 pounds) so that was something good for me at least!

My semester ended today, so i am going to start exercising and watching what i eat again..i get stressed near the end of the semester and tend to forget to exercise....
I am also planning on starting a jogging program i saw that its called couch to 5k...starts slow and adds to it..so well see how that goes!

Sounds like everyone is doing OK! Melanie... you LOST weight. That is a great thing. Brava for Deb and Jen. Weight loss is also about maintaining your losses and you have both proven that you can do that. Way to go.

I am please to announce that I lost those last few ounces I have been working on this week and am now officially at -40 pounds. Twenty more to go to meet my first goal. I would very much like to be there by the end of June, so wish me luck!!

Melanie, a loss is a loss no matter how you look at it! You should definitely celebrate any and every loss! Here, I'll help you!

:cool1:  :cheer2: :yay: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Enjoy your vacation, and just remember to treat yourself well. Don't go crazy on either end of the spectrum, just try to remember moderation. You'll be fine!!!!!!!

Good for you!!!!! I know what you mean about the end of semester stress. I can so relate. I'm so proud of you that you didn't let it totally ruin all your hard work! Keep it up!

Let me know how that jogging program goes. It sounds really good.

Glynis I have to share my absolute favorite low carb find that doesn't lack in flavor, texture or anything else. I found this at Market Basket and it is made by Turkey Hill. It is called Carb IQ Premium Ice Cream. My favorite flavor is Peanut Butter Paradise. It is vanilla ice cream loaded with no sugar added peanut butter cups and a peanut butter swirl. And best of all it only has 4 net carbs per 1/2 cup serving. This is my sweet of choice and I don't at all feel like I'm giving anything up. It works into my under 20 g of carbs per day plan and I actually look forward to eating it.
