DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

So its time to come clean and tell the truth. I've gained 5.4 pounds in the past month. It all started with my work trip to Tannersville, and the weight snuck up on me. I had pretty much gained it by the time I came back from Tannersville and haven't lost it yet. I have been eating healthy until I come home at night and then I have been eating junk, stress eating. I need to cut that out and increase the exercise again. I know I can do this. I really wish I could walk or run outside but the trail I normally would use is covered in ice and I am a klutz. I can't wait for spring. I need accountability or something to prevent myself from eating at night, any ideas??:confused3 :confused3

Congrats to those of you who are losing. :cool1:

Just hang in there, Becky! This is a tough time! I've kind of bounced around myself. I gain a couple of pounds, I lose a couple of pounds. I can't wait for spring so that I can get outside and do my exercising!

You'll get there, Becky. I think that we're all suffering from decreased exercise due to the weather. I think having dropped that class will help with the stress as well. :wizard: that work calms down as well.

Can I just say that I am very proud of myself?!? I have gotten myself moving and exercised the last 3 days in a row. Two days of Sweatin' to the Oldies (my library check out for the week) and one of mall walking plus yard raking.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to weigh in yesterday so checked today and I am down 3lbs this week and 3 inches over the last two weeks. I was close to breaking the 20lb mark, but that will have to come next time.

Thanks, Deb. So far exercise has been my biggest hurdle. I hadn't done anymore than try to keep my steps up around 10,000 everyday, but I had been at that level for a while walking all over Boston previously. I have checked out exercise videos almost every week since Jan 2, but finally committed to actually using them this week. Now to just keep it up!

That is great. I'm proud of you. This is a tough time to stay on track.
Thanks Deb:) , I messed up this weekend but I am back on track now...

Hooray! You are doing so well! I am so inspired by you!!!

Great job Tia especially on the excercise.

Don't beat yourself up Becky!!!! Just keep on trying.

I have had a good week eating wise so hopefully the scales will start to go back in the down direction at weigh-in tomorrow night. Now to just get started back excercising.

It's still a loss! I'm sure that next week will be even better.

I am down 2lbs this week, which officially puts me past the 20lb mark!! :cool1: I did learn this week that my favorite chocolate no bake cookies must be made sparingly. While delighted to find out that there were only 100 calories per cookie, I also found out that I have no willpower around them. I was able to stay in or close to my calorie range the 2 days that they lasted in the house, but had to cut back elsewhere to make up for that weakness. That said, they were delicious and I enjoyed them thoroughly.

Where is everybody?????? :confused3:

Weighed in tonight instead of last night (had to work late) guess what I lost another 1/2 a lb!!!!!!!! I know, I know, it's a loss but gosh darn it!!!!!
I am just keeping swimming :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: & hope the rest of you are too!!!!!
Here's hoping Janet is having a fantabulous time in Europe...pixiedust: for Janet!!!!!!

20 lbs is a big milestone. Congrats Tia. Realizing food that set us off is a great thing!!!!! Now you know what to do...only make them occasionally & make small batches.

I'm around, just not doing much worth reporting! Exercise has really slacked for me. Not having the half marathon to work towards is really killing me. I did sign up for an MS walk-a-thon that is in late April, so that is a goal for me. I want to be able to walk quite a ways, so I need to get out and get back in shape.

The good news is that my weight is still pretty stable. I fluctuate between 124 and 129. Up and down. But I feel pretty good about my portion control!

I'm here too. I have been a very bad girl for about a month now. I am trying to get back on track, but I keep messing up. The good news is that Spring is around the corner which means more exercise without trying. I am also walking a lot more at work so maybe that will help. My pants are starting to get a bit tight and I think I've gained about 4 lbs. I am fighting to stay under 140 lbs so I know that I must get back on track. I am not giving up, just swimming along and got a little swept up by the current ;)

I'm here. Struggling on the exercise side, but doing a pretty good food job. I am down 1lb this week so that is good. The time slot available for exercise is perfect, but the energy has been lacking. I'm just so tired after I take Phil to work in the morning, but also don't have time to go back to sleep. I know that I need to just get in there and do it instead of hitting the computer when I get home in the mornings, but it's been hard this week. Terra and I did yoga tonight and she loved it. I'm going to have to find us a good DVD to use for that and start working it in.

I have not been doing so well. I had lost 25 pounds but gained 8 pounds back about 3 months ago. I have been maintaining the 17 pound weight loss since that time. I really need to start exercising and cut back on the pepsi again. I need to start posting more regularly on this thread so I have some accountability with my DDA friends.

I know how you feel. Spring is almost here. If you need more motivation I suggest bathing suit shopping OOWWWeeE :rotfl: :rotfl:

You all are doing so well! I am very proud of each and every one of us on this life-long journey.

I am checking in after a long hiatus. I am in a holding pattern and it is driving me crazy. I am still following my diet, although I do admit to cheating a little now and then, but truly, nothing major. I am still exercising, but not as much as I did before the winter. I have hit the 90 pound mark and cannot seem to go beyond that.

I wonder if I need to change diets? This has worked so beautifully for me that I guess I am hesitant to "start all over" with something else. But I still have weight to lose and I don't want it to take another year to take it off!

Now I have gotten that off my chest I feel a little better, but I sure do hope something breaks through this slump I am in.

Checking in  here.....missed work yesterday & sent home today because I was still running a fever. No WW meeting for me tonight. Depending on how I feel may go tomorrow night, but most probably will be next week.

Hang in there everybody.

So GLAD to see you back ELIN.....good job maintaining your loss. You have done so great!!!! It's hard to keep going sometimes & the loss sure does slow down after you've been doing it so long. I'm still on WW & still plugging along.

When does Janet get back????

Just keep swimming all :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:
