DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Way to go Janet..... :cheer2: :cheer2: meeting your first goal is awesome. I hope you are planning on taking lots of pictures in Europe so we can live vicariously through you.

Good job Ellen....keep up the good work. :thumbsup2:

I had to work late & didn't go to my meeting tonight. I think I will wait until next week. I have been still struggling with getting/staying on track. I WILL get back on track. What's wrong with me????

Yes I will be taking lots of pictures, 22 more days

Well, I managed to weigh in today down 2 lbs!!! :woohoo: I was really surprised because I didn't do my best on Sunday between family dinner of chicken fried steak (though I watched my portions) and then burgers during Super Bowl. There was also pizza on Monday and IHOP for Rachel's birthday last night. Of course, at IHOP I only at a little over 1 of my corn cakes (pancakes) and got an egg white omelet. Maybe I'm just making some right choices that don't made the splurges as bad as they would have been in the past.

You are doing wonderful Tia! Isn't such a great feeling to see that scale go down :cool1:

Are you still using Sparkpeople? Without that website & everyone's encouragement here, I know I would not be doing as well & staying on track.

I am finally doing something for ME & it feels fantastic!

Thanks, Janet! I am using Sparkpeople and I totally agree with you. It is really helping me to see what I am doing and keep on track. I love the times that even when I think I've strayed, I enter everything in and can see how much I am learning about portion size and making good choices. Congrats to you as well. You are going great!

Still struggling along here....having a rough go of it the last few weeks. I have to work late tomorrow night so I won't weigh in until Wed or Thursday & I am dreading it. We are going to Nashville this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day & when we get back I AM GOING TO GET BACK ON TRACK & STAY THERE & GET MY BUTT EXCERCISING. :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

Anybody know the points value on those cupcakes made with diet soda. I got a strawberry cake mix & thought that would be a safe dessert for me to make for DH & I for V Day.

Melanie I do not use egg whites like this recipe calls for, but it says it is 4 points. Deb will know for sure!

Have a good time this weekend!

I have a loss of only 1 pound this week, that puts me at 149 pounds. I am in the 40's now :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I stayed within my calories, but I am sure the chinese food & the steak I had last night did not help. Oh well at least I went down! I had two people ask me yesterday at work if I had lost weight, that is such a good feeling when others notice :woohoo:

Janet - you are doing so well! I'm so proud of you!!!

I need some real help!!! I haven't done any exercising for the last week. I just can't seem to find the motivation. Or else, I run out of time. I will be so glad when it gets warmer so I can go outside to exercise.

I'm recommiting myself to exercise today. I promise that I will exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes per day. Someone hold me accountable, ok?

Thanks Glynis! Hopefully once it warms up I will get in the habit of taking walks. I did have a really nice glider, but I never used it. So I gave it away :sad2: Now that I am losing weight I really wish I had it back!

Janet a pound is a pound. :thumbsup2:
Good luck with the excercise Glynnis....must be something going around in the motivation dept. as I am struggling too!!!!
Thanks for the points info on the cupcakes...I am going to make those tomorrow night.
Going to go face the music tomorrow....not excited about it. I am going to enjoy my Valentine's weekend & then really get back on track Monday.
I know I can do it!!!! :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

I was no very excited about getting on the scale this morning, I just did not feel like I had done much this week. But to my surprise...........................
I am down 3 pounds, so I have made my 1st goal :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I don't know where the 10 pounds went, but I am glad they are gone! Keep up the great work everyone, without all of you I would have never done this.

Congats Janet, great job!! 10 lbs is a very big accomplishment!

I am now down 5.5 lbs, it's coming off very slowly for me, but at least it's better than gaining.

Congratulations to you!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you are doing great!!!!!!!!

I am back on WW's chugging along. Saturday is my WI day. :thumbsup2

Good luck Anne Marie, I know you will do great!

Thanks Janet!

I just have to stop letting RL excuses get in the way of eating properly. It's so hectic with the kids that its hard to plan things out, thats my biggest roadblock. I have to plan my menu on the weekends & have everything in the house. I want to look & feel great this summer!

So I need to get back on track again. I wasn't doing too bad before I went away, but OMG I ate horribly all week and since I have been back. Wednesday my family made chocolate souffles, Thursday pizzelles and Friday and into today faschnachts, plus Girl Scout cookies are here. :scared1: :scared1: I am restarting the healthy eating on Wednesday, most people give up things for lent but I am going to just eat healthy again and start exercising and I know I can do it.

I weighed in yesterday & I am very disappointed to say that I did not loose any :sad2: The good news is I did not gain either, I am still at 149 lbs. Not sure what the problem is, very frustrating!

How is everyone else doing?

I havent been checking in lately because ive failed,,again! But i wanted to see how everyone was doing--and you are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I havent gained or lost, but i havent been trying--Ive been watching what i eat for the most part, but not doing any exercising....im going to try to up my water intake at least to see if that helps

You just may be on a plateau. No gain is good though!:thumbsup2

Doing o.k. here, been on the plan (ww)s for about a week & doing great. The big issue I have now is that I am meeting friends for dinner Friday night & we are going to the Cheesecake Factory. I don't go there alot & I LOVE their Godiva chocolate cheesecake..going to be hard to stay on the plan, I'll have to save up some points.

Janet - try upping your water intake, and that might just shake you off your plateau! Don't get frustrated, just keep going, and soon that plateau will shift!

Jenn - Don't stress too much right now. You've got a lot on your plate, and I think that just watching what and how much you eat is a good step! You can do this! Try adding a little exercise (15 minutes) and see if that doesn't help with your emotional health as well.

Anne Marie - Just don't deprive yourself of the cheesecake! That's the surest way to sabotage yourself. Give yourself permission to enjoy some and be sure to stop yourself when you feel full!

I went to dinner with my dad last night, and I'm pleased to say I was good. They served us the biggest cut of prime rib I've ever seen (can we say half a cow!!!!). I ate about a third of it, and then stopped myself. I allowed myself to eat one of the red potatoes, and the asparagus. Then they brought out dessert! Oh, My Gosh!!!!! It was the biggest piece of chocolate cake I've ever seen! It was 4 layers, and the fudge frosting in between each layer was at least a half an inch thick. I took 3 bites, and that was it for me!!! I did eat the blueberries, raspberries and strawberries that were on the plate for garnish.

It was a great dinner, and I'm happy to say I didn't gain any weight from it!

Exercise is still tough, but I'm doing what I can!
