He is much better. Thanks for asking. He still coughs every once in awhile, in the morning and after eating/drinking milk products. It's hard to eliminate them completely. He just did his last breathing treatment. I still have many vials for an 'as needed' basis.
Daniel only drinks soy milk (& has since he was 1) due to his breathing difficulty after drinking milk.
Please keep the Reider family in your prayers. They (the children, 5 of them ages 22-30) are friends of mine since high school. Their mother died last August, and I just got news that Katie, the oldest (who I recorded music with through HS) passed away this morning.
I am so sorry Jennifer.

If I were looking for a honeymoon design (which of course I'm not:lmao: ...it's for a DIS friend) which of the DISigners would you ask for a design?? Remembering of course our please and thank yous:flower3:

Theresa check out Michelle and Kari's photobucket's they have some good ones. depending on what you want I might have a few saved when I get my laptop back. okay caught up and its time to go check on my patients. so chat later.

Theresa tell Cassidy to have a great time for me in case I don't make it on again later. Tell her I can't wait to see pics.:)

Theresa - I hope you can enjoy your vacation despite the broken AC! Please tell Cassidy to have fun on her trip!

I emailed Lindsay and got a reply today. She is swamped at work but knows the babys have all been born. She hopes to check in one day soon, but it sounds like she is REALLY busy.

Theresa sorry that the AC is broke. Hope you can find a way to stay cool during your vacation.

Cassidy have a nice time.

Belated birthday wishes for Theresa and Olivia.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my DH. His appointment is this afternoon at 4:45.

Beth-is your appointment today also?:wizard:

Chanon so sorry for your loss.

Alyssa lost her first tooth tonight!
toothless.gif
I fed her corn on the cobb to loosen it up good. ;)
:woohoo: Congrats to Alyssa! Hope she loves drama camp this week. Sorry to hear about Nicholas' asthma-hope it is easily controlled.

I didn't do much differently than every other day, actually. But Kristin and I did run out to Total Wine to get a 4-pack of my new favorite beer. If you like dark beer I would highly recommend it. It is scrumptious!

22

At $17 for a four-pack you had better believe it is only for special occasions like my birthday!
That looks good.

I caught part of her new "weekend" show about Orlando. There is a Wine Bar in Winter Park I would love to try!
I saw that. I'll go with you!

Two fascinating things to report from my vastly boring life ... ;)

1. Remember our new Garmin GPS? The one that chose interesting routes through urban areas? Well, I emailed Garmin CS while we were away to explain what I perceived to be a problem. They got back to me and gave some tips to correct the routing through the middle of cities instead of on the interstates and main highways that were paralleling those roads. That didn't work so they asked me to plot a trip in the Boston area and send them every route that "Jill" selected.

We didn't hear back from them until yesterday. I got an email authorizing me to ship Jill back to her maker. I KNEW there was something wrong with that thing!
2. Delta... Our flights have changed again. Not the flight number or anything major like that. They have changed the arrival time of one of them by 2 minutes. The other change is in the layover between our route down. To make things even more interesting, this entails seat assignment changes every time! And Bob and I are not together even though our reservations are linked. We give up. We decided that we are leaving it alone until a few weeks before the flights. We are not going to get good deals on any other carrier right now and I firmly believe that all airlines are struggling to stay afloat. Read on...

My boss made all the travel arrangements for the staff to go to Atlanta next month. I pulled up my itinerary yesterday and, lo and behold, I had two return flights on Airtran from Atlanta to Richmond. The flight down is fine, but I found it odd that we all got to fly back twice. So I called Yamaha Travel and "Sandy" told me that I, along with my co-workers, were on her list of people to contact today. Seems Airtran has canceled our 8:30 flight from ATL to RIC and booked us on a 4:50 flight instead. How kind of them. Our seminar is over at 5:00 and is in a suburb of Atlanta on the other side of the city from the airport. I have not yet been issued a teleportation device from the technology gurus, so I don't think this will work. "Sandy" agreed with me and said she would get right to work on it. She called me back in about 20 minutes and was happy to report that she had canceled the Airtran flights and found us flights with almost the same times. Wait for it......

on Delta. I have decided that my entire foreseeable future lies in the hands of that airline!
My SIL gave us a Garmin for Christmas that we haven't tried out yet-guess we should do that. Good luck with Delta!

Am I the only mean mother that makes their kids do schoolwork during summer vacation? I got them the Summer Bridge books and they have to do one page a day. Plus read a little daily. Alyssa loves to do her workbook, but Nicholas is another story.
I don't make them do schoolwork (I do think it is a great idea) but I do make then use a booster seat until 57". Massachusetts just passed a law that you had to be in a booster seat until you were either 8 years old or 57". I had heard that 57" was best for a few years now so I've always told my kids 57". I don't know too many 7 years old that still use a booster so those parents are at risk for getting ticketed now. I really don't see what the big deal is about a booster seat-especially if they are safer. Emma still uses one with that had a harness but she now uses with a seatbelt. Joe & Lizzy just use the bottom only booster.

It's a lot of fun, though, watching them discover new things!
Your photos are wonderful! They are so cute!!!!

Mom just called. She had to go in today for a recheck on her blood pressure. They had her on meds for it for the past year or so because it was high, but it had dropped down so low they told her to stop the meds. It still sounds horribly low to me, but they told her it is OK. She said she feels a lot better since she stopped the blood pressure meds. They also told her to stop the Arimidex while she is on chemo.

She goes Monday for her heart scan, Tuesday to have her port put in, Wednesday she calls for test results from the heart scan, and Thursday she goes for chemo if her heart scan is OK and her bloodwork on Thursday AM is OK. So lots of good thoughts are needed next week if anyone has some spare ones.
:wizard:

Here's the cake I made him:

Great cake! He looks so big! Noah is so beautiful!

Check this out! It's from a really addicting site called Wordle... you've been warned :) I'd love to play with it some more, but I got up after the 5am feeding to get important stuff done. You see how well that worked out

wordle0713.jpg

If you aren't supposed to be doing a hundred other things (like I am), then you should try it out. Have a good day, DDA!
SO cool!!!! Yours is really awesome!!!

Did anyone else get the email from Disney Visa about receiving 5x bonus points over the next 3 months if you charge over a certain amount of $$? I seem to have deleted my email!!! I checked my statement and there is a phone # to call if you have questions about your Disney Rewards and a Cardmember ID #. Do you know if I call that number (during regular working hours) if they can register me for the promotion of if I am out of luck this time?

ETA: Eureka! I found the email, buried in a bunch of correspondence from my boss... :rolleyes1
NO! I never get those or if I do the certain amount is something like $2,500/month.:scared1:

Oh, dear. Uncle1 just e-mailed that Uncle2's sister has breast cancer. They lost their mom to breast cancer many years ago. She is having surgery on Thursday, which is the same day the Uncles have to leave for an out of town wedding. :guilty: So sad. I hope everything goes well for her. Another one of their sisters has battled cancer already, but I don't think it was breast cancer.
So sad.:wizard:

okay so Jeff is wanting to get a new Video camera before the trip. He is wanting a smaller one. He is thinking about getting one with a hard drive built in or getting one that uses memory cards. Do any of you have one of these types of cameras. I told him if he got it that would be his Christmas present. I wouldwrap the box up for Christmas
The only time I took a video camera was on Lizzy's first trip.

Remember the dad of Emma's girl scout friend that was infatuated with Lucy? Can I ask that you keep Emma's friend and her parents in your prayers. Apparently things between Mom and Dad have been deteriorating quite rapidly since his return home from Iraq. They are planning to separate and he is looking to move out into a place of his own. My heart breaks for them, especially Emma's friend. She had such anxiety when Dad was away and I cannot imagine that this will be easy for her.
:wizard:

OK, the only one of these I am good at is packing! :rotfl2:
By whose standard?:rotfl2:

I could find a place in Virginia's room. Only problem with having more then the one suitcase down right now is Olivia might see them and ask why the are down. I realized I dont have enough luggage. last time we went we borrowed my moms big suitcase then we had our big one that we got from disneyshopping and the smaller one that came with it. I need to either get her suitcase or buy another big one.
Don't get something too big. It is really easy to go over the weight limit with a big bag.

Camping was an interesting experience.
Sounds like a fun but not relaxing time.

I spoke with our pediatrician and if she still has the fever tomorrow I am bringing her in but she thinks that it just a virus. Lucy has literally slept most of the day and when she is not asleep she has been fussing. She hasn't eaten much but is drinking her bottles. And then Emma tells me that her ear hurts too!! Yikes, it is a never ending battle!!
Hope she's feeling better soon and Emma ear clears up fast too!:wizard:

Virginiahas her 5th tooth with the 6th one looking like it will be popping thru any day now.
She is saying mama and occasionally she will throw in a dada.
Wow! Joe was almost 2 before he said mama. He had been saying dada for a long time though.

My little man (my cousin's son, the one who hangs on me all the time) turned 1 this past Feb. and the stinker will only say mama.
We are working on him to talk but he is quite stubborn.
Sounds like myEmma. We had to get her speech therapy. Everyone thought I was crazy to get her speech therapy so early (18 months) but it was the best thing for her!

Please keep the Reider family in your prayers. They (the children, 5 of them ages 22-30) are friends of mine since high school. Their mother died last August, and I just got news that Katie, the oldest (who I recorded music with through HS) passed away this morning. She's been battling a brain tumor (non-malignant, but the head doesn't have any extra space, so even non-malignant tumors can cause complications/death just by occupying space) for a while now, but at the end of June everyone thought she was on the verge of a full recovery. Her tumor had shrunk enough to be removed surgically, so they scheduled the removal as well as reconstructive surgery for August 7. Theoretically, at that point she would be in the clear.... but today, a hemorrhage recurred that wasn't able to be stopped. She has 2 sons, ages 3 and 1.:sad1:

You can check out her story, hear her music, etc as well as a really touching 'trailer' here.
How tragic.:sad1:

Good Morning All-

I am officially on vacation and it's the hottest dang part of the year and our A/C went out about 2 weeks ago. :headache:

I need to get laundry done because Cassidy leaves tomorrow night for her mission trip.
Hope you can keep cool and enjoy your vacation!

I emailed Lindsay and got a reply today. She is swamped at work but knows the babys have all been born. She hopes to check in one day soon, but it sounds like she is REALLY busy.
Thanks for the update.

So Thursday night I was up til 3am working on a white nightgown and doing 5 loads of laundry. Fri I went to work early and had work extra hours during the week so I left about 1pm. Lizzy had been invited to a birthday party by phone on Thursday for a party Saturday afternoon so we stopped at JoAnn's fabric and bought some fabric with cats to make the girl something before we went to the 4pm showing of the American Girl movie. We both really enjoyed it! But...the show was only about 20% full and some guy (with wife & 2 kids-1 young boy who had NO interest in the movie) sat right next to me. I almost asked him to move down a seat (there were lots of empty seats) but the movie had already started.

We went to McDonald's for dinner and went to the sleepover at 7pm. We were at a nature center and the naturalist was really great. The girls all had a great time and there were no screams at night despite the fact that we slept in a room with stuffed bear, elk, carabou (sp?), deer, fox and birds.:scared1: Oh and staying up late the night before does NOT help one sleep on the floor on a sleepover.:scared: We got home just before 10am as DH, Joe & Emma were heading to the beach to meet a friend of Joe's. Emma had on a racing swimsuit and I told her to put on a swim shirt. She said they had one in the bag and DH confirmed that he did but it didn't do much good in the bag.:headache: DH put sunscreen on but it washed off while she was swimming. I don't think either of them will do that again (this year....).

I told Lizzy she needed to rest in order to be awake enough for the pool party at 3pm. I rested a bit before I made the girl a colored pencil rollup. We got to the party and the mother appologized for not calling me to tell me that there had been a lice outbreak in the neighborhood. They had a "professional from NY" :confused3 there working on the kids who insisted it was OK. Lizzy & I both left!!!

I did more laundry on Sunday and sewed a few small gifts.

Less than 30 days til my trip.:scared1: SO much I want to do before then.

Bernadette - Extra :wizard: :wizard: for DH's appointment this afternoon!

I actually DID get the postcard for the 5X Visa rewards! It came yesterday. But we are getting ready to use one of those balance transfer checks with a 2.9% fixed APR so we don't want any purchases on the card. It was for airlines, gas, groceries, and dining over $250. I am HOPING not to need airfare again for awhile, and since we buy our groceries at Super Target it wouldn't count as groceries. I also don't want to charge all of our WDW meals because I prefer to limit my credit card transactions to front desk only. So I am not going to use the offer, but it was nice to finally get one! :)

I haven't heard from Mom (big surprise) so hopefully they got her port in and she found someone to bring her home afterwards.

Hi,

I ran to AC Moore this morning to get some shirts & paper to make some shirts for August. I haven't made a huge batch of shirts since last year. My printer was not working for a long time & then yesterday I hit something & it starting working!:cool1: Anyway there was starch all over the bottom of the iron so Mickeys foot got stuck & came out alittle messy but not too bad. This is what I have so far....(design thanks to Natalie) Sophie's is pink but it looks white in the picture.

Anne Marie - cute shirts!

Bernadette - some more :wizard: for DH today.

Theresa - enjoy your vacation. Hope the A/C gets fixed too and that it doesn't hurt your pocketbook too much.

Well, my friend! You are always welcome to come and visit me while your a/c is out!

Alyssa got a Hannah Montana Wii game and we all have been playing it like crazy. You have to learn dance moves, and then perform them to her songs. The better you do the more points you earn. The more points you earn, the more money. Then you can go shopping and buy all kinds of things....pants, shoes, shirts, dresses, jewelry, hats, sunglasses, scarves, etc. Alyssa just likes to get money and shop for shoes. I'm so going to be in trouble when she gets older.

Thank you!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Welcome to my world!:rotfl:

Elizabeth - I hope you hear from your mom soon. Hopefully, all went well with the port. I remembered something my aunt told me about her chemo experiences. She was really sick to her stomach, and her nurse told her to drink at least 8 ounces of dark grape juice (red or purple), the darker the better, and it would help with the sick feeling. It seemed to work for her.

Anne Marie - Darling shirts!!! I really like the simplicity of the design! As to the sunscreen, I'm wondering if a batch of spf 5 got put into the spf 50 bottles!

Tammi - Good luck with the teen age Alyssa! My sister was like that. By the time she got married, she had over 75 pairs of shoes.

Elin - Thanks for the update on Lindsay. I hope she can slow down some soon!

Today is a good day, here! The kids worked really hard to clean our house, so we invited my sister and her kids over to visit and play. As soon as they get here, we are going to the local candy store, the Peppermint Place for some candy for the kids and gelato for the mommies! Should be fun. There's a park across the street from the Peppermint Place, we'll let the kids run around for a while.

Mom phoned to say her port insertion went OK, and they called and said her heart scan results are normal. She goes in Thursday AM for her bloodwork and if it is normal then she starts her infusion at 10 AM. She has prescriptions for 2 anti-nausea meds - Emend and one other. I think she said she also has 3 other prescriptions she has to go pick up, but I don't know what those are for.

Glynis - I will tell her about the grape juice. Some of the girls on the breast cancer thread have said this chemo is extremely constipating, so I warned Mom to be ready. I wonder if prune juice would work like the grape juice? Although I can distinctly remember throwing up grape juice when I was pregnant with DS, so maybe it doesn't always work! :rotfl2: They also said she can take Claritin for the bone pain from the Neulasta shots, so I told her to ask about that. She was planning to go get Diva Girl from band camp this afternoon, but the anesthesiologist told her she can be cited for driving while intoxicated so she decided to let her sister go get Diva. At least it will keep her from driving for today!
