Mom phoned to say her port insertion went OK, and they called and said her heart scan results are normal. She goes in Thursday AM for her bloodwork and if it is normal then she starts her infusion at 10 AM. She has prescriptions for 2 anti-nausea meds - Emend and one other. I think she said she also has 3 other prescriptions she has to go pick up, but I don't know what those are for.

Glynis - I will tell her about the grape juice. Some of the girls on the breast cancer thread have said this chemo is extremely constipating, so I warned Mom to be ready. I wonder if prune juice would work like the grape juice? Although I can distinctly remember throwing up grape juice when I was pregnant with DS, so maybe it doesn't always work! They also said she can take Claritin for the bone pain from the Neulasta shots, so I told her to ask about that. She was planning to go get Diva Girl from band camp this afternoon, but the anesthesiologist told her she can be cited for driving while intoxicated so she decided to let her sister go get Diva. At least it will keep her from driving for today!

She will be in my prayers Thursday all day! You too!

Alyssa got a Hannah Montana Wii game and we all have been playing it like crazy. You have to learn dance moves, and then perform them to her songs. The better you do the more points you earn. The more points you earn, the more money. Then you can go shopping and buy all kinds of things....pants, shoes, shirts, dresses, jewelry, hats, sunglasses, scarves, etc. Alyssa just likes to get money and shop for shoes. I'm so going to be in trouble when she gets older.

Have I ever told you about Kristin's shoes???? I keep saying that Alyssa reminds me of my DD... and now I know they share a show fanaticism.

It was a great day. My team meetings usually do mix fun into our work. It was great. We went to see the Lake of the Clouds at Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park, Bonanza Falls and Bond Falls. The Porcupine Mountains is on the Lake Superior shoreline so that was a nice view.

Camping was an interesting experience. ...

Sounds like a nice trip minus the end of "not lifting a finger". We're headed camping in a few weeks and Mom and I are already working on the easy camp meals menu. With both of us working now we've decided that we're going simple so that we can all take it easy. I really like the taco salad idea. Got any other yummy suggestions?

Please keep the Reider family in your prayers. They (the children, 5 of them ages 22-30) are friends of mine since high school. Their mother died last August, and I just got news that Katie, the oldest (who I recorded music with through HS) passed away this morning. She's been battling a brain tumor (non-malignant, but the head doesn't have any extra space, so even non-malignant tumors can cause complications/death just by occupying space) for a while now, but at the end of June everyone thought she was on the verge of a full recovery. Her tumor had shrunk enough to be removed surgically, so they scheduled the removal as well as reconstructive surgery for August 7. Theoretically, at that point she would be in the clear.... but today, a hemorrhage recurred that wasn't able to be stopped. She has 2 sons, ages 3 and 1.

Yes, I used light transfer paper for white shirts. I wanted the color of the shirt to come through so I did not use the dark paper. Thank you!

So we headed to the dr.s today and Emma doesn't "technically" have an ear infection but she has blisters all through her ear canal. Apparently it hasn't turned into an infection as of yet. So she is on antibiotics and has a ear drop for pain. She is feeling much better tonight. No swimming for 3 days for her.

Lucy is just fighting off a virus. She seems a bit more herself today but was still a little off. She slept a lot again today. And she has a lovely viral rash all over her tummy and back. But ears and throat are still clear as is her chest. We just need to let it run it's course.

We are in major clean up mode in preparations for my cousin's visit on Friday. I wouldn't normally be so stressed but since I've never met her boyfriend before I certainly feel the need to have the house somewhat presentable! And I cannot for the life of me figure out what to have for dinner Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday we are headed to the ballpark so we'll grab something there.

Thanks for all the for DH. The dr said he saw a "dark spot" on the ultrasound but that doesn't mean cancer and if it was it would have been caught very early. DH has an appointment on Friday to get the results. The dr will be on vacation the following week.

I ran to AC Moore this morning to get some shirts & paper to make some shirts for August. I haven't made a huge batch of shirts since last year. My printer was not working for a long time & then yesterday I hit something & it starting working! Anyway there was starch all over the bottom of the iron so Mickeys foot got stuck & came out alittle messy but not too bad. This is what I have so far....(design thanks to Natalie) Sophie's is pink but it looks white in the picture.

Today is a good day, here! The kids worked really hard to clean our house, so we invited my sister and her kids over to visit and play. As soon as they get here, we are going to the local candy store, the Peppermint Place for some candy for the kids and gelato for the mommies! Should be fun. There's a park across the street from the Peppermint Place, we'll let the kids run around for a while.

My SIL bought a new video camera to use at church. She got a Flip Video and she let Joe play with it tonight. Lizzy & Joe did a "tour" of my MIL yard. Lizzy did the narration while Joe did the camera work. I was really surprised how good the quality looked. It is nice and small and so easy to use.
