Someday we would love to head west...someday.
You totally should!!! We could take you camping at Lake Powell, see Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Arches, etc. So much to do, and since you love camping, it would be so easy!
Someday we would love to head west...someday.
Taking care of my "first twins" (Ben and Savannah) for almost 2 years, I just love how much easier it is to hold two 5 pounders than it was to hold 2 16 pounders!I do have some good carseat shots that show how tiny they are. And this morning, I got one where Avery had fallen through the neck of her gown (arms out, it was around her chest/belly at night. Whenever I get them posted, there are a few out of the hospital that almost do them justice!
Was Leslie the larger or smaller twin?
The neonatologist that followed them in the hospital wants us to do q3hours until they (really Avery, but we keep them on the same schedule) are growing consistently. I actually worked closely with this doc a lot at Children's, so I feel like I know her plan pretty well. As it stands, I think we will keep on it until they are about at term, and as long as they are eating consistently and growing well (and Avery is above the 10th percentile and staying there), then we'll continue every 3 during the day and stretch to 4 or 5 (if they sleep that long) at night. They were both eating like champs in the hospital, but now Avery struggles a bit. She's still doing well overall, she's just the nosiest baby. Since they are just now at about 37.5 weeks it's not surprising to me that at times when she's distracted it isn't as easy for her. They continue to ultimately eat well, it just takes some coaxing with about 50% of the feeds.
I'm off to pump and feed, it's (always) that time again!![]()
We had to feed Katrina every 4 hours for a couple of weeks. She was in the hospital a week because she was so weak. She was in an oxygen isolette for the 4 or 5 days. She was just too weak to eat. She would fall asleep after sucking for a minute or two.
So here is the update on my interview-I left a message for the woman that called me yesterday--She called me back at work and gave me a time for the interview, directions, etc. She said they do not need me to bring my portfolio and the interview will be 10-15 minutes. So I asked if it was for a specific position or a general interview. She said it was for a positino that is TWO HOURS a day, afterschool, working one on one with an autistic child.
I said thansk and got off the phone and had a meltdown. I wasj ust so looking forward to this interview. this is not a job that I can do--I cannot have just 2 hours a day afterschool--I am still goign to the interview but i am very discouraged..so just wanted to sahre the "update"
How long is the offer good for? Maybe in a few years!
Well, then I guess I will be right there! We're booked at the Holiday Inn-Topeka West. Since we're coming from a day in St. Louis and heading out early to get to Colorado Springs, we won't be there too long.
Deb,
Hope the medication helps Colby quickly. Poor little guy, that sounds painful.![]()
Glynis,
Horray for WDW & DL trips. I would say early in December for WDW for the lower crowds..it only gets worse as you get close to the holidays.
Tom,
Yay for the lost tooth!
Beth,
What a great iternerary!
Kristine,
How nice you got to have lunch with Marci!![]()
Our transfer bled last trip too. Katie is so done with matching shirts that I am not sure how many we plan on wearing in August.
Jen,
Hang in there!![]()
Karen,
for Dad's surgery.
Elizabeth,
How's your back?
Ooh, how exciting! Are you going to find out the gender?
That's wonderful! We love early December![]()
The rainbow connection.I never told you guys about one of the t-shirt disaster we had....
I had the bright idea of dyeing white shirts to whatever color I wanted.....what a disaster....with the intense heat, sweat, water from splash mountain etc....all 5 of us were orange from neck to waist!! it was horrible. Plus, with the above conditions, the transfers themselves started to run....so we also had splotches of blank ink all over as well. This is why we didn't wear the normal matching garb for most of the trip.
Hi everyone. I'm glad these 3 days are over.
Tomorrow we leave to go to my parents', so I won't be around much until Monday night. I'm sure I'll check in every now and again though.
Very tempting! It's just too bad that you couldn't make a jog from Colorado to Utah. Then I could tell you in person! How's that for throwing a wrench in your planning works.
I'm still waiting for some DDA to take me up on the offer of a real pioneer meal cooked in Dutch ovens over an open fire. That's got to tempt someone!!!
Ok, here's a quick story all of you Disney fans...
I was in a group of mom's talking today. Someone mentioned their DS was going to see "The Wallys".
The other mom said "Wall E??"
The first mom said "Oh yea, that's it"...
so then I say "Yeah, It's short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth Class"....
You could have heard a pin drop.![]()
Since someone mentioned the Nick themed ship, here's a new ship by RCCL that's coming out in 2009.

...and yes, that is a zipline above the merry go round...
Beth - Diva says The Courtyard Marriott and Country Inn & Suites are pretty nice. The Holiday Inn, eh. She did say the room seemed OK and that the area is OK - you shouldn't be mugged in the parking lot. Hotels on "Wanamaker Road" are generally nicer than the Holiday Inn. That is the place where they had the party, and that was just a month or so ago.
The east side of town is not so good - stay to the west. And be advised that not everything is smoke free so there may be smoke from other rooms that you can smell in your room.
I wonder if the F&W will still be going on in DL??Just talked to my dad, and he has some exciting Disney news. He's booked our family trip to Disneyland for the first week of June 2009. Peanut will be almost 6 months old, so that will be eminently doable! I'm so excited!!! Haven't told the kids yet, as they will immediately want a countdown calendar!
Even better, Alan mentioned that he wouldn't be against a winter trip to WDW with our little family. I'm hoping that we can use our tax return next year to put a deposit down on a trip for late 2009 or early 2010. What do y'all think? When's the best time? I know the marathon weekend is in early January, but we could probably work to avoid that (unless I'm up to doing the half again!). Oh, the thoughts that are working their way through my head right now!!! I'll be having Disney dreams tonight!
