DDA Chapter 8

Here's a post I posted on TPAS. Anyone here have any thoughts? After crunching the numbers last night, I'm pretty sure we're going to move to Sept thanks to the appox $600 savings with free dining over our Dec costs. I've got to double check the numbers still, but I guess we'll be gearing up for hotter temps and MNSSHP. (Jennifer - if we change our dates, I think that means we overlap again if you want to try and meet up.)

Okay, guys I really need some help. Looks like we are going to take advantage of free dining and move our trip from Dec to Sept. I currently have Sept 12-21 booked, but have always wanted to go to Food and Wine Festival. I am considering pushing my dates back to 19-28. However, I fully expect that the first weekend is going to be really crowded. So, just how crowded is it?!?!

Our situation...
- Those days will be just me and DD5.
- We'll have already spent 6-7 in the parks by now and will have done most of our biggies
- If we hit Epcot those days it will only be to do Food and Wine Festival booths (with a little Kidcot or country touring thrown in during digestion ;) )

So....do I move our trip back a week to finally get to do F&WF or do I wait for some unknown point in the future (probably a few years) when I can go in Oct?

Thanks!!

of course just let me know what days. We ave MNSSHP on the 23rd we arrive the 20th and leave the 29th

all rightie...off to bed!!

It was great to see everybody just chatting tonight!!:goodvibes

Good morning. :)

Vicki - take it easy. You need some time to de-stress.

Elizabeth - good luck at the dentist today. Hope it is painless and quick.

then you would have loved our weather the last couple of days...I almost broke out the long sleeves!! It's barely gotten into the 60's....actually I would have loved it had it been sunny!!

I refuse to even put our airconditioners in the windows until AFTER our trip :rotfl: That was rough on our work crew this weekend as it was pretty warm in here. We did open all the doors and windows and had a bit of a breeze. Of course my parents NEVER put their air conditioners in so they don't have much room to complain

I honestly thought Baltimore/Washington DC was worse..stickiness wise.

Well, I got my wish for cooler weather. During the night it dropped into the upper 50s or low 60s in our area. This should last for a day or so... ;)

And, Theresa, I agree 100% with you about our stickiness factor compared to Florida. I have found it to be more humid in this area in the summer than any time we have visited WDW in July or August. Our temps are not that much cooler either, although I think if we would look at historical facts and figures I would probably be wrong. :rotfl2:

Look at you two planning over a year away. I can't even get my days and ADRs figured out for December, and my 180 day window is fast approaching. The hardest thing for me is deciding which night to do Epcot. There are many green nights throughout my week, but the narrator for the CP will be the deciding factor. And that won't be release until who knows when. Probably the same time they get off their duffs and release November's hours!

I hope it's soon, Tammi. It is so hard to plan without those critical pieces of info!

3 suitcases packed...2 to go :faint:...I did get an email from the concierge guy that we definitely have a Savannah view, so I was excited about that. I can't wait to be on that plane so I don't have to worry about anything else

YAY :yay: for your Savanna view! And yay for getting most of your packing done. Just think... at the end of the week you will be there for three weeks!

Jackie hands me 6 pairs of shoes :scared1:

I think Jackie has a little bit of Imelda Marcos in her :rotfl2:

Kirsten keeps packing strange miscellaneous things....why do we need rubber bands I ask her..."you just never know" she says. Then it was 5 balloons....she said, "don't you remember, we will be there for my birthday" what could I say?

If my Kristin was given a choice between clothes and shoes her suitcase would consist of one pair of jeans, two tops and 20 pairs of shoes... for a weekend trip. :rotfl:

At least Kirsten is taking lightweight items. Maybe she has room in her suitcase for one or two pairs of Jackie's shoes....;)

I've got cold and am feeling lousy. I tried to go to bed hours ago but couldn't sleep. Maybe I should try again or work on photopass some more-I think I have 2 days finished.

Hope you got some sleep and feel better today, Bernadette.

I made my kids pack their own stuff. I gave them a list of items (and quantities) that they needed to pack. They set it all beside their suitcase and I checked it out. If it said 3 pairs of shoes, it was 3 pairs of shoes. I did a final check to make sure they brought appropriate clothes. It made it a lot easier on me.

That is how I have done it for years too, Vicki. Now the only person who really needs my help with packing is Bob... :rolleyes1

I'm worn out. So much is going on at work and others aren't dealing with things in a timely fashion so it ends up being a mess for the staff. Friday I had to escalate two serious issues which delayed a project for this week and will hopefully get things completed in time so that the project next week isn't postponed. I came home and slept for two hours. It was pure and simple emotional exhaustion.

I hope this turmoil ends soon, Vicki.

4th grade slow? I worry about it. I can't seem to effectively teach him. Bill has been trying to work him...he does much better than I do. but Chris gets so frustrated

Is it a motor skill issue or a vision problem, Kristine? Or both?

Well so much for the day and 1/2 of warm. (((sigh)))

All this talking of packing made me realize that I need to get going since Katie and I leave Sunday night. I've spent the last few days going through clothes, and deciding what to take. Does that count? Guess I'll drag the suitcase out tomorrow and try to fit it all in one. We're only going to be gone for 10 days, so I'm trying to pack about 5 pairs of pants and then double the number of tops to make it easier. One nice outfit to wear at the theater, and that should do it!

My cousin put together our itinerary and boy does she have lots for us to do. Let's just say our days are packed. She even managed to work in a day trip to Stratford upon Avon. That was something Katie really wanted to do, so I'm glad it got worked in. I've got the passports ready, travel documents ready, plane tickets printed, journal ready, camera almost ready (got to empty the card and make sure the other 2 are set to go), ipod almost ready for the flight (need to put a few videos on there for Katie). Whew! I'm going to need a vacation from getting ready to go on vacation!

I can't believe your trip is almost here, Glynis! You will get all the small stuff done easily and the packing will be a breeze since you have a plan of attack. ;)

Boy were y'all chatty last night! :)

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:
