Yes, we were expecting that DS would probably need glasses. The school nurse said he can't see, then the pediatrician said his vision is 20/70! It isn't actually that bad - it is 20/50. The eye Dr. said he needs glasses and should plan to wear them pretty much all the time. He also said DS's eyes will likely get worse so we need to make sure he has regular exams.
My eyes, on the other hand, are perfect. 20/15. He said I don't have to come back for 2 years. DH sees just fine, too, so we aren't sure what is up with DS.

Crud, I think my dishwasher is broken.

That's not good! I hope the repair guy can get there tomorrow!

I tried another new crockpot recipe today. This is one Dawn gave me a long time ago, and she may have very well gotten it from the WFD thread. Delicious!

Creamy Italian Chicken

2 lbs boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
4 oz softened cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 package dry Italian dressing mix
½ cup water (or white wine)
pasta

Cut chicken breasts into strips and put chicken strips into slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter or margarine, cream cheese, soup and Italian dressing. Pour mixture over chicken strips and add white wine or water. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over angel hair pasta or bowtie pasta.

We've had that before and it is yummy!

Yay for your good eyesight! I hope DS adjusts to his glasses quickly and easily. I think he'll look great in them!

Bob's daughter has what I would consider speech issues, but he says the ped. says they are age appropriate. It doesn't help matters that they let her have a pacifier at night until she was FIVE, and her mom still lets her have it. I have a hard time understanding her and at this point I would bet that her speech problems will last into adulthood.

Hopefully they will evaluate her in school and start therapy there. We had Hunter evaluated at age 2 or 3 and he was within the norm at that age so we stopped worrying...then he was evaluated in Kindergarten and had 1 1/2 years of speech therapy in school. Twice a week and over the summer. He is fine now. Delayed speech also effects the way the read as things sound different. Thankfully he reads very well now too

for Colby! That must be frustrating for him. Miles is currently in speech because he doesn't have the r sound down right in some of the blends. He also needed work on a few sounds when he was in kindergarten.

It is good that they are following up. Hunter gets reassessed periodically to make sure that he picks up the age appropriate sounds. He speaks very clearly now.

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'm definitely noticing improvement. I finally went to see a doctor about it today, because last night I was running a low-grade fever and there was new redness and heat in the leg. He thinks that I may have a minor infection and put me on antibiotics for that. He said that the rest will just take some time.

moms smash and bash as you all call it found nothing so they did an ultra sound and found a small teeny tiny cyst. they think it is probably something like a boil but they are going to aspirate it next week just to make sure.

desi had her ob appointment today and there is only one. they did an internal ultrasound and the pictures were neat. we saw the head and the feet and the tiny little toes. we also think maybe a p**** but we are hoping it is the umbilical cord. she really wants a

Molly and I decided today that she is going to have a CandyLand birthday. I was trying to persuade her to have an all girl tea party but she is insistent that we invite one of her little boy friends. Someone on the CB posted a picture of the cake they did for their DD's 1st birthday.

I found a ton of stuff on Evilbay and all of it is relatively inexpensive. Stickers, tattoos and pencils for goody bags. I also found a Candyland rug gameboard, it's40" x 40". So I'm going to order that to play at the party. I also found some candy shaped foam beads to make necklaces. And then I figure we can decorate sugar cookies shaped like the game pieces in the different colors.

I think that we are going to rent a room at the Naval Academy, it's only $60 for the whole day, that way we will have plenty of room to set up different stations. Our house just isn't big enough. I am pretty excited and relieved that it's come together quickly and easily.

It sounds like you have it all planned out. Isn't that a nice feeling I think it sounds wonderful.

Hunter wears glasses. He was very resistant for the first year or two. He really thought that he could see fine. Now that he is used to wearing them he realizes that he can't see squat without them on. He now puts them on before he gets out of bed and takes them off after tuck in.

I think that we are going to rent a room at the Naval Academy, it's only $60 for the whole day, that way we will have plenty of room to set up different stations. Our house just isn't big enough. I am pretty excited and relieved that it's come together quickly and easily.

Thanks for all the prayers for Julie. I talked to her this afternoon, and she's frustrated more than anything. Hopefully this isn't the early signs of preeclampsia and all will be well after a little rest.

I just called Vicki. She isn't home, but Chuck was Becky is ok. They did find the problem and it is treatable. I told Chuck to have Vicki fill us in once she gets home so I'm sure we'll hear from her sometime tonight.

I was in 9th grade when I first got glasses. My eyes weren't that bad, just bad enough. Well, they have progressively gotten worse over the years until by the time I was in my late 20s they were 20/200!

Do you think he would be able to wear contacts?

Tomorrow morning I have the permanent crown put on my tooth. I hope once it gets put on it stays on. That is the most common issue that I hear, that they fall off.

Well, I was able to salvage everything from my laundry except for Alyssa's dress. It was a navy dress with a white color and white cuffs. Yep, the orange ended up on the white and it just isn't coming out. Oh well, hopefully we will be wearing spring-y dresses soon anyway.

Vicki just called me back. She is exhausted and heading to bed, but will post tomorrow. It turns out that she wound up with a UTI and went to the doctor's herself after Becky's procedure. Hopefully they are all set for their trip now, at least medically speaking. She give more info tomorrow.

Tammi- Sorry about the crayon in the wash. Perhaps you could dye the whitish part of the dress another color. Hope the crown stays the first time.

Anne Marie- Glad to hear the smash and bash went well. If you are not getting digital mammograms, if your insurance covers them, do that type. My Mom was in and out in 15 minutes on Monday with the digital type. Hope the dishwasher starts working again.

popping in to say you all are in my prayers and thoughts!!!

Plus you all need to see Penelope--I won passes to see it tonight(gotta stop trying for the little stuff ) --I now have another contender for my 5 and it was an awesome movie!!!Great story with a great ending...though it is PG for a reason...but most of those went right over Abi's head.

All of this talk of speech therapy I wanted to pipe in that Abi had it starting in 2nd grade. We were told her speech was age level until the DR. told us to get it checked....we knew she was hard to understand but so is her dad. A year and a half later and she was done with speech and they had done all the could for her OT. Neither girls had pacifiers or sucked their thumbs...I am sure Abi inherited her's from her dad...one thing I am peeved at my MIL for..if she had only gotten him help for so many of his problems (speech, ADHD, etc) I wouldn't be fighting this uphill battle.

So this week I have no night events, well at least that I know of. It is a good thing though because I have basically spent every night trying to prep for my online test from noon to 3pm on Saturday. I feel like I still know nothing.

It is just three essay questions, but I have a weird feeling something wacky is going to happen like losing electricity or my internet will be out or some other thing that will make it difficult to complete. I am not going to at least two things because I would need to leave during that time or be there during that time. Why we could not have 3 hours within a 24 hour time period to complete the test I know not.

I can only try my best.

If you could keep my Grandma in your prayers that would be greatly appreciated. For several years her heart has only functioned at 10%, she has a pacemaker. She has a limited amount of liquid she can consume each day, if she gains a certain amount of weight she must call the Dr immediately, because she has a high risk of fluid collecting around her heart and water retention, which is highly dangerous to her. Well something is wacky, she had to do a phone test and things seem off. She cannot go into the Dr. till the end of next week. She knows if certain things happen she or DH needs to call the ambulance and get her to the emergency room. So I am hoping she will be fine until the Dr. appointment as I know she is stubborn and may not do as she is directed if need be.

Also my brother broke a tooth, he is in New Jersey all week for training for his job. He can not get a dental appointment at his dentist until April. Good thing it isn't bothering him.
