DDA Chapter 4

Just letting you guys know im thinking about ya..its been a rough day so far, so hopefully things settle down and i can come chat later!

moms smash and bash as you all call it found nothing so they did an ultra sound and found a small teeny tiny cyst. they think it is probably something like a boil but they are going to aspirate it next week just to make sure.

desi had her ob appointment today and there is only one. they did an internal ultrasound and the pictures were neat. we saw the head and the feet and the tiny little toes. we also think maybe a p**** but we are hoping it is the umbilical cord. she really wants a princess:

Hi all...Things have been pretty quiet here today. The brothers aren't here again as both are now sick. My after school girl is also been sick since Sunday. I can only hope that tomorrow is another quiet day. It's amazing how much I could get done chore wise and still have time to do fun stuff with Mo, Lucy and Jake. I wonder if I could only keep Jake and give up the other 2. If only they weren't all related:rolleyes:

Debbie- I am glad that your SIL is home but sorry to hear about Brandon. :wizard: for a fast recovery.

Karen- :wizard: for you as you wait to hear from you mom and more :wizard: for your mom.

Beth- I am sorry to hear that you hurt your leg. :wizard: that it heals quickly.

Amy- :wizard: for Julie. I hope that the bedrest is short and she can not worry so much.

Lindsay- I can't remember if I sent you some :wizard: for your furbaby so here's some :wizard:

Anne Marie- Glad the smash and bash went well.

Elizabeth- Sounds like you had an enjoyable day off. I hope that flash purchase works out.

Thanks for the great recap Robyn :goodvibes Ditto to all!

Denise glad to hear Ree's is doing better! Good luck to John tomorrow :wizard:

Tammi I hope you are able to get the crayon out of the clothes. My boys are terrible about leaving things in their pockets, I always have to check them.

Karen glad to hear that nothing to serious was found with your mother.

Tom love the new outfit!

Debbie hope Brandon is feeling better soon :wizard:

Deb hope Colby can be evaluated soon so his therapy can start. When Riley was in preschool I was worried about his speech. He would say "w's" instead of "L's" & "w's" instead of 'r's". It was cute to hear him say his name was "Wiwy" lol But his teacher said not to worry that he would grow out of it & thankfully he did.

Neither Garrett or Riley thankfully wanted anything to do with a pacifier & they never sucked their thumb. I was spared of those habits!

Sorry if I am forgetting anyone, :wizard: & to you!

Bob's daughter has what I would consider speech issues, but he says the ped. says they are age appropriate. It doesn't help matters that they let her have a pacifier at night until she was FIVE, and her mom still lets her have it. I have a hard time understanding her and at this point I would bet that her speech problems will last into adulthood.
:scared1:  Her Mom is just setting her up for a lifetime of issues. She will likely have confidence issues if she can't talk well as an adult.:sad2:

Joe was pretty much ready to give up his pacifier and then I had Emma. When I went back to work after maternity leave and DH was home with Lizzy (3 1/2), Joe (2) and newborn Emma he pretty much let Joe have it all day long. So on the long Columbus Day weekend before he was 3 I made him give it up during the day and he never even wanted it at night anymore either. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

All my kids were pretty much out of a bottle by 1 year but they did probably all stay on sippy cups too long. When we realized that Joe had problems we switched to the ones with straws as they are a bit better.

I cannot imagine not giving up formula as soon as posible. It is smelly and expensive.:confused3 Those pacifiers were expensive too. I can't imagine how long they would last with a 4 year old.

Hello, all!
Hi Beth! Sorry to hear about your leg. Maybe you should rest it! Hope it heals fast for you!:wizard:

I'm getting excited about May. How about you?

Molly and I decided today that she is going to have a CandyLand birthday. I was trying to persuade her to have an all girl tea party but she is insistent that we invite one of her little boy friends. Someone on the CB posted a picture of the cake they did for their DD's 1st birthday.

When I showed it to Mo she loved it

I found a ton of stuff on Evilbay and all of it is relatively inexpensive. Stickers, tattoos and pencils for goody bags. I also found a Candyland rug gameboard, it's40" x 40". So I'm going to order that to play at the party. I also found some candy shaped foam beads to make necklaces. And then I figure we can decorate sugar cookies shaped like the game pieces in the different colors.

I think that we are going to rent a room at the Naval Academy, it's only $60 for the whole day, that way we will have plenty of room to set up different stations. Our house just isn't big enough. I am pretty excited and relieved that it's come together quickly and easily.

I seen that cake & thought it was cute! Sounds like Molly's party will be a lot of fun :thumbsup2

Sounds like so much fun! That cake is adorable...what a sugar rush! :)

I tried another new crockpot recipe today. This is one Dawn gave me a long time ago, and she may have very well gotten it from the WFD thread. Delicious!

Creamy Italian Chicken

2 lbs boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
4 oz softened cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 package dry Italian dressing mix
½ cup water (or white wine)
pasta

Cut chicken breasts into strips and put chicken strips into slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter or margarine, cream cheese, soup and Italian dressing. Pour mixture over chicken strips and add white wine or water. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over angel hair pasta or bowtie pasta.

Thanks for all the prayers for Julie. I talked to her this afternoon, and she's frustrated more than anything. Hopefully this isn't the early signs of preeclampsia and all will be well after a little rest. :wizard:

Anne-Marie, I'm glad all went well today!

Debbie, hope Brandon is feeling back to his happy self soon!

Beth, nice to see you posting. Hope your leg heals quickly!

Karen, what a relief that your mom's tests look okay!

Jen, I hope your evening settles down so you can relax a bit.

Deb, I'm sorry that you didn't any answers from the speech therapist today.

Elizabeth, were you expecting DS's diagnosis? Both Kevin and I have glasses/contacts, so I'm sure our kiddos will need them eventually, too.

Theresa, thinking of you!

Vicki, are you ready to go?!!

:wave2: to everyone else! Hope it was a good Wednesday for all!

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'm definitely noticing improvement. I finally went to see a doctor about it today, because last night I was running a low-grade fever and there was new redness and heat in the leg. He thinks that I may have a minor infection and put me on antibiotics for that. He said that the rest will just take some time.
Hope your leg feels better soon.

:wizard: for Julie.

Speaking of parties, if anyone ever needs to order anything from the Oriental Trading Company, they seem to send me free shipping codes (for orders of $60 or more) weekly!
