DDA Chapter 4

Kathrin was able to find a U-Haul with a bench seat so I bought 2 one-way tickets home from Boston for Kristin as well as me. This is looking to be a fun weekend, I think. But I know I will cry. When we took her to college (she lived in the dorms at Mary Washington) I cried. I didn't have any idea that I would, but I did!

I am sure you will all have a wonderful weekend! Of course you will cry when you leave on Sunday!

You guys will not believe my luck. So today, the computer tech came to work on my computer and completely wiped everything out. So i was using my old computer to type up my resume, cover letter, references, etc...As i was typing my cover letter, i noticed a small type (there should ahve been an apostrophe and there wasnt)..now i had 5 people proof read and none of us picked up on it..SO....
I had to re type 85 addresses on the cover letter, print them, take everything out of the old envlopes, and put the new in..Im finishing that up now (after 4 hours!). Tomorrow ill have to go to the store and get more address labels and envelopes and then redo it...ugh!!!! im so frustrated! BUT im glad i caught it and im half done!

How frustrating! But at least you are almost finished! I hope all of your hard work pays off and you find a great teaching position!:wizard:

Well the snow has begun, again! :sad2:

Stay warm, Janet!!

That poor little thing! Lindsay, I hope this morning your "baby" is doing better and you fine a new vet soon. I also hope the ER bill is not horrific and/or your original vert assists in the payment. How awful and sad!

Lindsay, that is horrible! I hope your dog is better today! How lucky that you work in an office FULL of attorneys to help you with your EX vet! (Even our snarky little mutual friend is an animal lover. ;) ) Lots of  and :wizard: that everything works out!

Princess has swimming today, and we need to do some odds and ends to finish getting ready for her grandparents to visit. Our temps were in the 80's yesterday, but the high today is only mid-50's. Brr! At least it isn't raining. Or snowing.

Have a great day, all! :)

Lindsay I hope your fur baby is doing better today :wizard:

I'm so glad it's worked out for you all to go together.

Hi, DDA! :flower3:

I have been reading along the last few days, but RL has gotten in the way some. Lots of :grouphug: :cheer2: :rotfl: :wave2: pixiedust: for everything I read.

Karen - a special :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you. I was so sorry to read about Shocker - I can only imagine the bond the 2 of you shared. I know it's no solace, but at least she's no longer in pain. :grouphug: :grouphug: How wonderful of one of our great DDA to send you flowers.

I'll put a little plea out there for my own fur baby. I had to take her to get her annual teeth cleaning today. I knew something was wrong when I picked her up, as I have never heard her make these gut-wrenching noises - close to human crying. Vet assured me there was nothing wrong with her, she's probably just still groggy from the anesthesia, wants to go home, etc. Needless to say, the ride home was awful, and we weren't home 5 mins before we were back in the car on the way to the ER.

ER vet thinks she aspirated some fluids during the dental procedure, and that caused an infection around one of her lungs, after tests and xrays. She's spending the night in the ER, getting pumped full of antibiotics and diuretics to work on the infection, and needless to say, we'll be transferring to a new vet in the morning to continue her care. Just talked to the ER, and they tell me she's resting quietly (they were finally able to get some pain meds in her), and she's no longer whimpering, so that's wonderful. They hope to get her to eat around midnight.

My mom always said that the babies waited to get sick until the daddies left town. :upsidedow

Lindsay -- sending PD that your baby is much better today. Let me know if you need help with anything since Dad is out of town. When is Jonathan due back?

I just got word that our GSA government contract is being audited on the 14th, and have more than 2 1/2 weeks to worry about it. UGGGHHH!!! :headache:

Elizabeth -- be careful running the errands with Princess. I was blown all over the road this morning -- the wind, while always high during Feb. and March, seems particularly crazy today.

Glynis -- I hope you are feeling better.

PD to all those who need it.

Have a good day everyone!

Elin-as much as I would LOVE to see you I do understand that this will be a crazy weekend for you. You will be back right???

Oh, no! I forgot that there will be SNOW in Boston! BLECH... :crazy2:
Boston is supposed to get rain today so maybe most of it will go away before the weekend.

I am using a simple red mickey swirl on lime green t-shirts to coordinate with the Mickey Head Swirl shirt that I sewed for myself. I don't want 2 shirts that are that similar. I added a navy blue head behind the original so that is another option, but I'm not sure which I like more.
I think I like to original better.

UGH!!! At least you found it. Good luck finishing the rest and getting you new computer back!:wizard:

That is horrible. I hope some action is taken toward the first vet. Imagine a dental procedure resulting in a life threatening situation that he refused to acknowledge :sad2: :wizard: :wizard: That your baby recovers quickly.

We are starting to see a bit of snow now. The forcast is calling for up to 16 inches before it is all said and done tomorrow night. Thankfully I don't work today or tomorrow so I won't have to deal with driving other than getting Colby to school. I think we are all ready for Spring here now. The snow banks are already so high no one knows where we are going to put the new stuff :confused3

I got a call and our taxes are done. She didn't say how they worked out one way or another, but I'll go sign them today and get the verdict  Otherwise no big plans for today.

Nope! We honestly don't get that much snow in Cincinnati, so I didn't buy Alyssa any boots until last season. I purposely bought them big, so she still fits in them, and Matty got stuck with the Cookie Monster slippers. :teeth:

Nope, just lots of ice usually

I hope today she is doing much better! How scary!

Deb - I think I like the original desing with no navy in the background better. I think... :rotfl:

I agree, I like the white the best. It's very cute either way!

Hooray! The DIS has known it was coming for some time now (seriously, there are some super sleuths that blow my mind on the DVC boards! :rotfl:) but it's nice to see a bit more "evidence"! :thumbsup2
