DDA Chapter 4

Good Afternoon DDA,

Thank you for all the well wishes on SIL's surgery, it went very well but it was an all day process, they started at 8:00 am and he didn't get out of the final surgery until after 6:00 pm. They started by removing the stint, and doing a scope, and then there was quite a long break before the actual surgery. I haven't heard from DD yet today, but no news is good news, the doctor was confident that he would be home this afternoon.

Lindsay - :wizard: PD for your puppy, I hope all is well soon.

Robyn - Love the TR, especially the pictures. We've had more than our fair share of rodent problems, just remember, if you see one, odds are there is at least one more.

Theresa - :grouphug: I hope things improve soon, remember we're here for you.

Amy - Love the snow pictures, the Cookie Monster slippers are too cute!

Jennifer - (bear) I realized that if you are driving to Disney you will probably pass right by my house, I can see I-10 from my yard.

Next stop World Showcase. As we walked by the margarita stand I heard it calling my name. Thankfully it was past noon.

We came across Donald Duck. Donald loved Eric’s hat and signed it for him. At first I thought it looks like Lucy and I really aren’t a part of the picture but I realized it was Donald’s sombrero wouldn’t let us get any closer.

After Mexico we stopped in Norway. We planned to ride Maelstrom but the standby line was long and they did not have the FP machines available. The girls decided to pose for some pics.

Everyone was a little hungry so Emma and I got in line at Kringla Bakery. It was pretty busy and there was this older man who just could not understand why he had to wait in line behind everyone else. Emma and Molly wanted the sweet pretzel and some fruit.

Eric and I split the roast beef sandwich. It was all very yummy. Lucy ate the table for lunch, I had wiped the table down thankfully. No matter how many time we tried to stop her she went right back to it. Of course, I got lots of dirty looks from people. But I’m happy to report she suffered no ill effects from it.

P1010649.jpg

After lunch we headed to China. Mushu and Mulan were out so we got in line to get their autographs. Of course by the time we reached them Mushu went on break. The girl’s had a nice chat with Mulan while she was signing her page.
P1010651.jpg

She also told them to give Snow White a message from her “Tag you’re it, no tags back”. Now the girl’s had a mission. Sadly Snow White was not out when we were in Germany. We browsed through some of the shops in Germany. Eric got a beer, and I think I drank most of it. I am not a beer drinker by any means but I really like German beer. We just strolled through Italy and America and people watched as we soaked up the atmosphere. The got a rainbow Kaki Gori in Japan and shared that. One thing we really wanted to do was see Miyuki in Japan. She had a show at 4pm that day so we got to Japan around 3’ish. We were the first ones at the stand and we waited patiently. The girls were very excited about seeing her and hoped that they got chosen to receive a candy. A lot of people started gathering around as it got closer to 4. We had a grandmother and her 2 granddaughters come and stand next to us. The girls were about 12 and 15. Anyway, as we were waiting the girls sort of kept pushing my girls out of the way. By the time the show started we had gotten pushed over to the edge of the one side. Miyuki came out and explained that she would choose 6 “families” to receive a candy. She was very clear that it was not 6 individuals but 6 families. She choose 2 families and then choose the oldest of the 2 girls next to us. Emma and Molly raised their hands each time she was picking a family in hopes of getting picked. Miyuki then picked another family and made their animal. When she was picking the next to last family she ended up picking the younger granddaughter and asked if she was with the other girl. Do you think she said “No”, of course not. After the older girl got picked, all the younger one did was complain that she did not get one. I was very irritated at this point. First they push Emma and Molly out of their spot now they clearly have no respect for anyone. I said to the grandmother how rude they were for lying. The grandmother’s response to me “Well you need to be up front to get picked” and that we could now have their spot! I just shook my head and said “No, we’re fine where we are. I think what irritated me most was the Emma was quite aware that those 2 girls were together and did not follow the rules and it was just hard to explain why some people think the rules don’t apply to them. Thankfully, Emma and Molly were the last to be chosen. They had agreed upon a unicorn if they did get picked.
Miyuki made a parrot

A porcupine (She also made a baboon. We can’t remember the other 2 things)

Sadly, the unicorn’s horn broke off later that day. It had broken off once when she was making it and Miyuki fixed it but I guess it wasn’t so stable after that. I hope to figure out a way to fix it, so if you have any ideas let me hear them. One of the perks of being last was the girls got to try some of the leftover candy. Eric and I were very proud of the way that both Emma and Molly acted during the show. They never once got upset that they weren’t being chosen.

By this time it was starting to get chilly and everyone was getting tired. We had an ADR for Biergarten at 5:30pm. I didn’t think we’d make it that long so we decided to see if we could get seated earlier. They were more than happy to do so and we were seated by 4:45pm. Our table was on the same level of the buffet on the side farthest from the entrance. I would have like to have been closer to the stage so the girls could have gotten to dance but in the end it’s probably best we weren’t. They enjoyed listening to the band.
P1010697.jpg

P1010698.jpg

Our server was very nice considering she had the same name of my MIL. We also met one named Molly and Robyn. We thought that was quite funny. Our tablemates were 2 older men, one lived in Florida and the other lived in Chicago. They were attending a conference together. Both were very nice and not at all unhappy that they got stuck at a table with 3 kids. Thankfully, the girls were on their best behavior. As they were leaving they told me that we should be very proud of them as they were lovely girls and they had a delightful time talking to them. I’ll have to remember that when they get on my last nerve. I got to have a lovely conversation with them throughout our meal. Eric didn’t get much of a chance to talk as he was busy filling everyone’s plates. I was feeding Lucy and she was so distracted it took the entire meal for her to finish her bottle. Everyone enjoyed dinner here. We thought that the food was great as well as the service.

We decided that it was time to call it a day and head back to the room. This was waiting for us in the room.
P1010701.jpg

Since it was still pretty early in the evening we tossed around the idea of heading to DTD to do some shopping. Emma and Molly wanted to shop! The girls picked out some gifts for their cousin and friends. They also each got a new doll, Emma choose Belle and Molly choose Cinderella.
Here they are trying on some hats and just goofing off.

After our shopping excursion was over we headed back to the room and called it a night. We had an 8:05am ADR for Crystal Palace the next morning.

We had some good news today. We are getting a tax refund from Federal and State. Unfortunately it is less than last year, but at least we don't have to pay :cool1:
Congrats on the refund-much better than paying!!!!

Sorry that ended up being long.
 No appologies needed. We will be thinking about you! Hope RL improves real fast!:wizard:

Everyone was a little hungry so Emma and I got in line at Kringla Bakery.

After lunch we headed to China. Mushu and Mulan were out so we got in line to get their autographs. Of course by the time we reached them Mushu went on break.
I have that Donald had but I broke it along with Joe & Emma's hat on my last day last August. I had them on the stroller handle and ripped them all when I opened up the stroller. The strap on the back pulled out. I should try to fix it but I'm a bit too busy (um lazy....). I bought an Expedition Everest hat in January. I bought Joe a hat at Wal-Mart for $2 which we managed to loose our last day so I went back after the trip and bought 2 more. He also lost one last August. He hates wearing them so he's always taking them off.

I love that Kringla Bakery but man are they slow. I think it must be a cultural thing because no matter when I've been in and no matter how long the line is they are SOOOOOO SLOOOOOW! Those sweet pretzels used to be my favorite treat at WDW but now I've discovered the school bread.

myEmma wants to meet Mushu in the worst way but won't talk to Mulan. I keep telling her she needs to watch the movie. I would think she would love Mulan if she knew her story. Sorry you missed Mushu.

I'm so happy you got chosen for a candy. Unbelievable behavior by those people! I'm happy to say everyone was well behaved when saw her in January.

Robyn, I so would have gotten up in that grandmother's face and told her that her RUDE girls, who ARE together, shoved MY kids out of the way and now WE were going to get a candy sculpture. And I might have threatened her with injury. I am so glad your girls were chosen!:goodvibes
Love all the pics! The Norway CS is my favorite in all of Epcot! Although I have never tasted the tables...

Youngster called and said if we are OK with leaving the car titled in DH's name only that I can mail the paperwork back to her and they will handle it. I am conflicted. I would LOVE not to go to the stupid title office, but they can't seem to do anything right so what are the chances that they really can handle the title? I don't care whose name is on the title, because as long as the car is financed the BANK is the owner!

Princess I need to go pick up dinner from the "grab & go" market. I completely forgot we were supposed to do that or I would have done it earlier. She is just starting to wake up now.

Janet (and all who were on the lookout for me)-I am doing not so great so I decided to take a little break from posting here. It has nothing to do with you all...it has to do with real life and would take to long to vent/tell/whatever you want to call it.

We did end up having a hugely busy weekend. Cassidy and I went to Bye, Bye Birdie on Friday...I was very disappointed in the production. This was after a very trying day here at work...and losing an expensive piece of jewelry.

Saturday...I ended up running sound for Youth Sunday...and Cassidy ended up getting a solo piece that morning for Sunday (she handled it beautifully:goodvibes )

Sunday-was Youth Sunday and I passed out at 2...Abi got sick about 4:30

she stayed home from school yesterday...and I felt guilty about leaving work after a meeting...then remembered I've been there 8 days straight for at least an hour.

There's my LOOOONG weekend and it's only the tip of my emotional iceberg.

I hope that the crud in real life takes a permanent vacation because I am a wreck.

I am reading along but I just don't have the resources in me to post very often.

Sorry that ended up being long.

  Maybe you should vent here. Sometimes it helps to type it out, for me it sometimes clarifies things. We are here for you if you need us

Debbie - I am glad the surgery went well! Lots of good wishes for a fast recovery!! :wizard:

DH said his prescription showed up today! But the charge disappeared from my bank account! It was pending, then it just disappeared instead of moving down to the "completed" section. I haven't checked the bank today - the transaction might be back now.:confused3

Hi, DDA! :flower3:

I have been reading along the last few days, but RL has gotten in the way some. Lots of :grouphug: :cheer2: :rotfl: :wave2: pixiedust: for everything I read.

Karen - a special :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you. I was so sorry to read about Shocker - I can only imagine the bond the 2 of you shared. I know it's no solace, but at least she's no longer in pain. :grouphug: :grouphug: How wonderful of one of our great DDA to send you flowers.

I'll put a little plea out there for my own fur baby. I had to take her to get her annual teeth cleaning today. I knew something was wrong when I picked her up, as I have never heard her make these gut-wrenching noises - close to human crying. Vet assured me there was nothing wrong with her, she's probably just still groggy from the anesthesia, wants to go home, etc. Needless to say, the ride home was awful, and we weren't home 5 mins before we were back in the car on the way to the ER.

ER vet thinks she aspirated some fluids during the dental procedure, and that caused an infection around one of her lungs, after tests and xrays. She's spending the night in the ER, getting pumped full of antibiotics and diuretics to work on the infection, and needless to say, we'll be transferring to a new vet in the morning to continue her care. Just talked to the ER, and they tell me she's resting quietly (they were finally able to get some pain meds in her), and she's no longer whimpering, so that's wonderful. They hope to get her to eat around midnight.

My mom always said that the babies waited to get sick until the daddies left town. :upsidedow
i will pray for your furbaby. i think shocks asperated that made her turn for the worse. it was a complication of the mg. so far noone has said they have sent it and after i thought about it last night i also have a friend here called jen and if either jens here say they didnt send it then its from here. if one of the jens did send it thanks again.

Theresa sorry you are having a rough time, we are here for you

Deb yea for a refund! :cool1:

Debbie glad to hear sil's surgery went well :goodvibes

What's everyone up to this evening? I ducked out of work early(ish) for a facial this afternoon, then visited with my parents and sister for about an hour.... so I'm in a fantastic mood, albeit pretty tired (what's new?). I hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes

Nothing new here! The kids are all home from school now, and either doing homework or chores. I'm about to go to the kitchen to make braised pork chops for dinner tonight. It's a new recipe that's getting rave reviews on the What's For Dinner thread, so I thought I'd give it a try. After that, I've got laundry to fold and put away (just wait till you see how much laundry twins can create!), and a bathroom to clean. If I get it all done, I'm rewarding myself with a bubble bath after dinner while Alan puts the kids to bed.

Other than all that? I really should finish reading Jane Eyre for our monthly book club meeting next week. I'm only halfway through the book, but I think I'll make it ok. I haven't read it since college. Forgot how good it is!

I'm home. Momboss picked up her parents at the airport and they were back at the house by 5 PM. Unfortunately Momboss thinks she has pink-eye so off she went to Urgent Care to see about getting some drops.

I don't know what I will do with the next 5 days. :confused3

DH is making the baked chicken thing with the Catalina dressing and apricot preserves. Hopefully it will turn out!

We just got done doing cultures for the science fair project. In a little bit they are getting their showers and getting ready for bed.

I got a call around noon today from the nurse at school. She has Alyssa in her office. Evidently at lunch she just laid her head on the table and wouldn't eat. When questioned she complained of not feeling well and her tummy hurting. The nurse said no fever but she looks really tired and a lot of kids are sick. No kidding. So I talk to Alyssa trying to figure out what was going on. She said her stomach hurt and asked if I would come get her. So I cancel everything that I had on my schedule for the afternoon and go to pick her up. She comes bouncing into the office looking like her regular self. I then ask to speak with her teacher, to find out if maybe something happened, an argument or something between her and others. Nothing. She 'rebounded' but 'you were already on your way.' When we get home Alyssa marches into the house and turns on cartoons. Uh, no! You are sick...up to bed. Long story short...well...not so much  .....she didn't like the fish sticks she got at lunch so she was pouting and didn't want to eat. Then when she started getting the attention she played on it. So I've written a note to her teachers that unless she is vomiting or running a fever, tell her to suck it up and get back to class. We had a long talk about how I need to be at work to do my job and she needs to be in school to learn. But I did get about a 2 hour nap out of her this afternoon. Hopefully she learned a lesson. Reminded me of Tom though, and his lunch situation yesterday.

Robyn, another great TR installment!

Elizabeth.... what can I say! I believe that you must go to MORON school to work for insurance companies.;)

Tammi, kids like the attention, don't they?:goodvibes

Leighanna had her choice yesterday between two entrees. Neither one she liked. The alternative is peanut butter and jelly. She HATES jelly on her peanut butter, so that was also a no go.

After taking Leighanna her cupcakes to school yesterday, I went to get into my car, and it wouldn't start.:confused3 I believe the alternator just went out!

So my car is in the shop today! Gee, another unforeseen bill in the works!

This is what I have been up to.

Not too early to work on summer stuff is it?

It's definitely not too early to think about summer, but it's past time to put the snowmen away! :rotfl:

Adorable outfit and model! :) Sorry about your car. :(

Well how dumb of them. John made a comment about the addition and the buss driver was yup, its going to be DVC.

Some people have been talking about it on the boards for probably close to 2 years now... with artist's renderings, etc. Even Disney CMs were completely in the dark, and yet DISers were finding stuff! I doubt they deny it much more recently :)
