DDA Chapter 4

I am glad your knee is not bothering you today, Deb. Take it easy until you are sure, though!

Tome great pictures, cute outfit and the last picture is my favorite. You can tell she had a really fun time.

Deb, hope the knee doesn't give you too much trouble today.

Nicholas and his friend were very well-behaved. They went to bed around 10:30 and I didn't hear a peep out of them. They just came downstairs about 10 minutes ago. Now everone wants breakfast. We will all go to church together and then he will go home from there.

Sounds like the sleepover went well! :thumbsup2
DS says there are a few scary moments in Spiderwick. I guess some of the creatures are dangerous and the kids have to fight them off. Kind of creepy.

Have fun at the mountain, Deb!

Deb,
Take it easy on your knee today. Have Fun!

Tom,
Leighanna's pictures are cute!

Tammi,
:grouphug: I had to do this with my cat Whiskers. I got him (& his sister) when I was 13. They were about 4 days old & their mother had died under a pile of wood that she was keeping her litter under. So did the other kitties. :sad1: My aunt found them & gave them to me (as she had too many pets) so I nursed them with bottles & they became the 2 sweetest cats. They acted more like dogs. They would fetch & come when you called them..sooo sweet. Whiskers was 21 when his kidneys failed & he had to be put down. I was with him & I cried like a baby for several days. I couldn't even drive home from the vet. Princess (his sister) died about a year later. She was never the same after he left us.

Karen, I am sorry! :grouphug:

That week-end works for me! :lmao: :rotfl: I just couldn't resist. I see that Tammi also said this week-end but she was quoting the June week-end. Interesting Philly is only about 9.5 hours from Lansing. It is about 7.5 hours for me to Lansing. That really might be doable if I come by myself. Not sure I could talk Chuck into it. I could go to Lansing for the week, then come out there, then go back to Lansing for the next week and then go home. Not too much driving too many days in a row. Hmmmmmmmmm. Or I could have Chuck come with me and he could work in Lansing (as long as he has his laptop and cell phone, most of the time he can work from anywhere for a week or so).

If Chuck decides not to go, you're going right by my house. If you want a traveling buddy, pick me up and I'll cover the gas cost to Philly. :teeth:

does THAT weekend work for everyone thats interested in the philly meet?
who wants to come?

I will be there, wherever there turns out to be.
My kids will be coming if that's okay. Maybe I could turn it into an educational trip.
You could turn it into an educational trip. I will bring my nephews also.

It's amazing how we can handle things better with our siblings. No matter how much they drive us crazy or we fight, they are the ones that make us strong.
Silly story about siblings. I am the oldest. My brother (the youngest) can't deal with a woman being hurt in any way and is like a bull in a china shop. My sister (the middle child) doesn't do bodily fluids. My mom (80 at the time) fell in the bathroom and broke her neck. They needed to put a halo on her. Well, for those of you who don't know about halos, they are not put on in an operating room. They are put on in the patient's room. So there we all our, visiting my mom and trying to cheer her up. The doctor walks in with the Halo and asks that one of us stay with her to help keep her calm. Well, my sister and brother were gone before you could say "Who". I held her hand and looked the other way (I mean come on, they were screwing screws into the poor woman's head) and cried silently the whole time. Mommy started shouting and crying and trying to hit the nurse. She was yelling Penny, make them stop. Yeah, I was doing real well at this point. :scared: I told her "I can't make them stop, they are putting the halo on and they have to screw it in". Well she yelled why hadn't someone told her they were going to put the halo in? We told her as she had to sign the consent, but she didn't remember it. So I apologized for not telling her and she spent the next 15 minutes yelling at me for not telling her and forgot about the halo on her head. Then the nurse (who she had hit a few times) tried to tell her that we did tell her and I told him no, I must have forgotten. SO she saved face, apologized to the nurse and yelled at me. All, in all it was a wonderful experience. I told my siblings that I wasn't doing that again and next time it was their turn. :thumbsup2

I would be in for Philly I think the last weekend of June works for me. Well it does right now. I would loved to do Friday night through Sunday but I know this may not work for others. I would hope that I could work in the Lafayette Hill or Valley Forge office, then I would be a hop, skip and jump away.
Can't wait to meet all of yu.

I registered for the Disney Meet in Harrisburg, but have not paid. How long do I have before I must pay? Do any of you know?
You don't have to pay until they send you an email saying the money is due. when they do that, pay quickly as it sells out pretty quickly.

Tom- Great pictures of her of your daughter. she is beautiful

Karen,

I am so sorry for you and your family.  :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

But it sounds like this was the way for it to happen and that you are okay with it.

I was reading everyone's posts about having to put their loved ones down and I know that our decision to have Gilmore put down when we were not there was the best. Bless his heart, our Vet had cleaned him all up and we were all coming to say our goodbyes. I knew in my heart he was hurting, but seeing him there all soft and purring just did me in and I had to leave.
It was worse when Scooter passed in the Vets office while he was going to take blood to figure out what was causing his sudden weight loss. It was totally unexpected and there was no time to grieve properly. Our Vet was wonderful in helping us thru that time.
