DDA Chapter 4

So I think I really am going to do the Owner's Locker thing. Funny thing is if I do it it will just stop me from having to mail a package to the resort and I will probably end up with 2 checked bags for our August family trip instead of one. The kids are getting bigger-they can help with the bags!

I've got a HUGE list of things to put in the locker. It will be great not to have to even think about them anymore. I am going to use it for all camera batteries charger, ipod charger, cell phones chargers, nintendo charger, camera video cable, toiletries, first aid, ponchos, fans, and all sorts of other stuff.

They are my family, we don't visit his. :rotfl2:

So I guess they aren't of any relation. I don't think you'd be friends with them if they were.;)

Is it your side of the family or Eric's that you visit in Michigan? I have friends that used to live in Holland that have the same last name. I think I asked you once but don't remember seeing a response on whether they could be related. I was close friends with her (but it was her husband's family name).

shocker passed this morning. last night the dr called and said while they were feeding her she was regurgitating her food. over the night she spiked a fever and was having trouble breathing. when they went to move her to get an x-ray her heart stopped. they put her on vent and called and we said let her go. im ok and glad she went so we wouldn't have to make the decision. my parents are worse than i am right now. but we will get through.

I'm so very sorry for you and your parents Karen. pixiedust: and prayers while you are dealing with the loss.

I have always wanted to do the Duck Tour. Seriously, it is supposed to be great fun. :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Don't you use all this stuff at home, too? :confused3

If Chuck decides not to go, you're going right by my house. If you want a traveling buddy, pick me up and I'll cover the gas cost to Philly. :teeth:

Sounds like a wonderful plan. I'll keep that in mind as we get closer. Chuck & I talked about it a little today. However, our major concentration was getting ready for next Friday.

Karen, I am so sorry. :grouphug: I'm glad that it was quick in the end. You and your family will be in my thoughts as you grieve her passing.

Penny- You are a great daughter! I see my mom and her 2 sisters spend each and every day with my grandmother at the nursing home (they all take turns) and I think that there is no way that I could do it. I don't handle hospitals/nursing homes well at all. How old are your nephews? It will be great to meet you in Philly!
Thanks for the kudos, but I was a baby and cried the entire time. Not a pretty site and 58 year blubbering. :rotfl2:
My Nephews are 14 & 15 or 14 & 14? somewhere in there. I am not sure.

Where would everyone want to meet? there is Down Town (I could get some prices from downtown? I would call them as I don't go into the city)
or in Lower Bucks County or the fringes of NorthEast Philly or City Line Ave. If you stay in Lower Bucks County there is Sesame Place, which is for younger children. Philly is a big place so people would want to figure out what they want to do and then stay close to there?

Penny :flower3:

Oh and Eric wants me to somehow pull $500 out of the air for a Wii, one of the small game stores around here is getting 6 of them in tomorrow. As much as I would like one I have yet to figure out where it's coming from. :upsidedow
My kids would be too old for Sesame Place. I'm thinking Liberty Bell, and that kind of stuff.

We've done the ones in DC and Baltimore on our past summer DDA meets and had great times!

Yes but it will be worth it to buy extras. I already have 3 nintendo chargers(one came with each of the kids). We used to have the same cell phones but now I have a new one so I'll just buy an extra charger. I bought an ipod charger for my office for under $10 and have never used it there so I'll just take that one. The camera takes AA batteries so those chargers aren't too expensive. I already have something like 4 video cables for my camera (one came with each camera). It will be so nice to ever have to worry about packing that stuff again. I always had it in my carryon as I didn't want it lost if my checked bag got lost. If I put in my carryon in May I'll have room to bring things home.

Robyn - Great report additions. I love the pictures! Keep them up and add more if you need too. We'll never get tired of any of the DDA cuties.

Deb - Hope your knee is feeling better today and that the boys got to snowboard.

Becky - Sorry that your day was so long! I hope that today is better, though if I remember right you have enough event today.

Tammi - I'm so sorry about Shane. I know it's going to be a hard decision, but that you'll do what's best for him once you know more about what's going on.

Elin - Hope the packing went well today.

Tom - Looks like a great party! I love the outfit.

Elizabeth - Happy grocery shopping! So how many pins does that make per person to trade?

Bernadette - I'm glad that you finally got some answers from Lizzy and that the source wasn't too bad. Sounds like a good plan to eliminate those playdates. Way to go, Emma!! She'll be ready in plenty of time to go.

Jen - Way to go on the resumes! I hope you get lots of response calls.

Please feel free to go pick money from the money tree. It's out back of your house, you just can't see it real good. pixiedust:
I'm going to browse some websites and see what there is to do. My kids would be too old for Sesame Place. I'm thinking Liberty Bell, and that kind of stuff.[/QUOTE]

We lived in PA when I was Alyssa's age. My parents took me to see the Liberty Bell and I had my knickers in a huge knot about something and refused to cooperate. There are pics of me standing in front of it with my hands on my hips, scowling. :rotfl:
I don't know what the chances are of me making it to a Phily meet (with or without DS), but I will keep it in mind!

I discovered one reason my grocery bill was so high is that the shrimp that was marked $2.64 each rang up $5.99 each and I bought FOUR packs! I just went back to Target and told them to kindly refund the difference ($13), which they did. At least I caught it! DH said that happens ALL the time with Target. He has been servicing one on a route lately.

It will be very difficult when her grandmother comes back in May. I may have a talk with the grandmother. She has openly complained to us that the girl's mom (her daughter) is too undisaplined. I think she might understand if we tell her that Lizzy can't play with her unless there is an adult in the room.

My concern is that she has been molested if she knows about that and is unsupervised by her mother alot. The statistics are staggering unfortunately.

childmolestationvictim.com said:
Roughly 33% of girls and 14% of boys are molested before the age of 18, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

My best friend and I ended up turning in a man a few years ago. The daughters were very promiscuous acting. I have to say I wasn't shocked when they told my best friend about their dad.

Good afternoon, all! Just a quick pop in before I have to go help my sister with some DVD burning. I just wanted to catch up quickly though. Catch ya soon.
